  • rich people are better than poor people, the poor people suck at life and they dont have enough money to support themselves, I like being rich and have lots of money, its a better life!

  • Awesome this is long overdue. we need to band together and take life back we are not corporate slaves to the company. the country's are now company's with no regard for the human race. this system is broken and needs to be changed. people over profits. many rich people are part of the occupy movement including ceo's because they understand right and wrong. please educate yourself before you speak on issues of the awake. thanks

  • PISS OFF!!!!!! Get out of our city and let us all get back to WORKING for a living!!!! You should try it for once in your life. GO AWAY WE THE 72% DO NOT WANT YOU HERE,

  • @SuperTRINISH lol what a good lil corporate slave you are. ya continue paying high taxes to pay for your space in the concentration camps. its people who close their ears and turned a blind eye is why the system of corruption is able to thrive and get rich off of the masses. have you looked at the state of the world ? hello we need change and we r tired of being lied to. seriously wake up .you are mind controlled.

  • End fractonal reserve lending in private hands - large private banks were levered 20 to 1 in 2008. This is why they were insolvent at that time. Why do we allow private banks to create money, without consideration, and lend at compound interest. That's theft of labour and property (and is communism). And since they only create the principal and not the interest - it is a Ponzi sheme

Canadian banks took 75 billion bailout in 2008 -swapped cash for toxic loans

    THIS IS NOT CAPITALISM

  • I feel sad watching this, as yes there are struggles in Canada, but the 99% in Canada are really a part of the 1% of the world population that have the most wealth compared to the 99% of the rest of the world that live in abject poverty and are in states of famine, despair and pestillence. You all should be protesting for the the true 99% of the world that NEED this voice and dare to move to help them! We should be grateful for all we have in this country! There is no excuse!

  • How about you help the actual poor people in this world, those who live on less than a dollar a day?

  • 2:49 has my biggest 1-man 2-meter placard promoting the UNILETS Time Standard of Money where people's time is their collateral at the bank, not only their gold.

  • AND UH FUKU

  • They dress up in costumes like they're waiting for a clip in a movie, or at least a media portrayal. C'mon ya kan do better than that... ya bunch of fucking pansies!!!! It's a movement that started June 15 (my mommie says hello).. and is broken into 3 segments of 4 months... we'll say 43... their propaganda says their after the establishment; then they go on to say they 'GOTTA GET THIS GUY'... suddenly became a GUY! Thought it was the establishment - aha! HA is 1 percent... read below!

  • AnonymouS is involved in this... or A/S = 1/19... this movement seems as precarious as 911! 99=U=99=Einsteinium=ES.. 99=18=R...18=9=I /1=A, Hydrogen=H... USA -- SEE -- HA - RI (star).... As I've said before it's a MASONIC ACTING GIG like 9/11 was! And FUKU... HA is HIRAM ABIFF their MASONIC LEADER! Sure they're some sincere people; but it's a gig/game for the likes of the media and Michael Moore's of the game; he does have a NEW BOOK just out and is backing the movement -- geez no way - EH

  • This movement has to be the dumbest SHIT I've ever seen. They carry around placards with shit virtually everybody already knows -- what the fuck is that going to do. They dress up in costumes mocking the situation - oh, they're waiting for Halloween for their TRICK OR TREAT! They repeat chanted slogans like they're SATANISTS - LOL! If you want change - go fight ya bunch of fucking pansies! They're a LEADERLESS organization (Anonymous) - how wonderful: Get a LEADER - there's your 1 percent!

  • Is it possible that there are MANY people in this Province that would otherwise be financially secure if it wasn't for their lack of understanding of how to properly build an equity base? What I'm saying is, if I could explain to any of you how to pull yourself out of the financial HOLE that you are currently in and obtain some level of wealth, would you people do it? Or would have some excuse as to why it can't work for your situation?

  • @Martano666 You're missing the entire point of 99%. This isn't just about poor vs Rich, it's about power vs people. Jon stewart made a great point when he said you only call it Class warfare when the poor ppl fight back, because I promise you the rich and powerful are ALWAYS fighting us. In the states their entire government is bought, no question about it and that does reflect us and we are following in their footsteps,, We need to get money out of politics.

  • @jesskat LOL. I am not following anyone's footsteps except for those that are self sufficient people that don't whine when they live in one of the best places on the planet. You're right about one thing though. I am missing the point of this protest. That is why I am here asking what the point is. I keep hearing 'cliche' answers like "this is the rich vs the poor", etc. Answers like that come from other people that don't really know what they are protesting either.

  • @jesskat You should understand where I come from. It is common knowledge amoung investors, that we (action takers) whom decide to take our wealth in to our own hands and secure our financial future, our only about 1-3% of people in Ontario. We all know hundreds of people that have jobs that could do what we are doing, but only 1-3% of all people in Ontario actually do what we do. Is that the government's fault? Education systems fault? Individual person's fault?

  • @jesskat I guess what I am saying is that I personally appreciate the banks in Canada. We can borrow money from banks right now for 2.5% and even lower in some cases. That is unheard of. The very banks that people are protesting are the same banks that have allowed me to become wealthy. I love the banks. -AND- The bank of Canada just recently announced that they will not raise interest rates until 2013. That means more cheap money for me to borrow and buy houses with. I love it here.

  • @Martano666 Did you know that the government actually tells cops to ticket the lower income neighborhoods.. in richer communities they don't have ppl walking around ticketing their cops, in fact the government told them not to do that, cus they don't want to piss off that 1%.. don't you ever wonder why they don't ever get in shit for anything............what do you think they don't do drugs or do anything illegal? do you think they do everything by the book? Wake up...

  • @jesskat Oh right. Where did you pull that little ball of lies from? My sister is a correctional officer and my dad as well. My uncle is a cop and my sister was a temp for awhile. You are completely wrong. Rich people get tickets all the time. It's hilarious that you think that cops don't ticket rich people. As if cops actually know what every person's income is or as if cops are afraid of wealthier neighbourhoods. I am in the 1% and I have had many tickets.

  • @jesskat Are you aware that if you make over $60,000 per year, you would be in the top 1% of annual earnings? So I don't think you have a clue as to what you are talking about. You are simply repeating hearsay tidbits that you base your opinion on.

  • The financial burden placed on all of us is insurmountable in the current framework of the economic system. The only way to change it is to protest where it counts, in the pocketbook. Solution: Go to any parliament in any country in the world and silently/non-violently protest.Shut down the financial districts of the world by eliminating thier sources of income by not buying any consumer product for one week once a month. Real action, not dismissable action, is what is needed. Than chnge comes.

  • @24godsent Well, that sounds a little more in tune than the absurd Carnivals their doing everywhere. But I guess Halloween is around the corner and their prepping.

  • @greg12145 Hallowen would be the perfect time to hit them where it counts. As absurd as it sounds, if you were to cancel (HAHA) Halloween the economic impact would put a dent in thier coffers for the month of October.

But realistically the children would suffer. And that is unacceptable. But the idea that a loss of 1/4 of revenue for one month would drive the "moneyhoarders" crazy and force them to act. Which is what we, the citizens need. We set the agenda, not them.

  • This is nothing but a meeting of the ugly kids

  • I know for a fact that many of the 'poor' people are in that position because of their own actions or inaction. Running up massive student loans to get a degree in something useless with no jobs available is the individuals own fault. Having children before owning a house is another favourite choice by many fools. Renting apartments instead of purchasing is financially foolish. Not paying credit cards off is financially foolish. The average person does all of this crap and expects prosperity?

  • @Martano666 I think we see rich differently, someone who has a 100 million for example, is extremely well off, but I am talking about the 1 percent that own billions and billions of dollars, that don't care about how the money was earned, People that will invest 100000 dollars to someone and in return get government grants. You know if your a good person or not..I mean how much wealth does 1 really need, especially in Canada where the healthcare is covered..

  • @Abstruse1nk And if you are in that top 1 percent..Do you really think its necessary to die with billions and billions of dollars.. We are saying alot of mouths could be fed if we had a salary cap..No one needs that much money. In your position, if you know you have everything you and your family need. And you have millions in the bank. what would you do with the money? Invest to get more is usually the answer.. Not help the needy..and we need more of that.

  • @Abstruse1nk I absolutely do not think its necessary to die with billions of dollars. Some of the richest people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have donated a lot of their money to poor countries and Gates even said he plans to leave himself and his family with only millions as oppose to the billions he has right now. If it were me, I would donate money towards things that matter to me and society like the Canadian Secular Alliance and WildLife Preservation.

  • @Abstruse1nk Believe me, I'm not fully satisfied with Ontario as a province yet. It's not prefect, but it could be a lot worse. There are issues I have with the Gov't, but the issues most certainly are not related to 'no jobs' or 'no opportunities to thrive'. These are not Ontario issues (in my opinion). Maybe I'm just willing to do the jobs that other people aren't interested in. Why are us dumb uneducated construction workers making more than the people that go to University? (on average).

  • @Abstruse1nk Ok. That is what I was trying to clarify. I do have a problem with people that make money through deceptive measures or any form of fraud or dishonesty. But, that goes for poor people too. Regardless of whether or not you are rich, I prefer that you make your money honestly. It does seem obsurd that some people have over a billion dollars but only because your lifestyle can't be improved any further once you have reach that level of wealth.

  • @Martano666 i think its very ignorant to think that the growing contrast between wealthy and poor can be summed up to foolishness or poor financial decisions. Its quite obvious that there is oppression going on. 200 plus cities in the united states see this, parts of europe, and now many parts of canada are seeing this, its a shame you cant see this too.

  • @jandrobudful I didn't say that now did I? There are most definately people that are the victims bad luck or other non deserved situations. -BUT- Far too many citizens in the united states try to fix problems by doing things like "praying" which is useless for solving problems. Also, the foolish decisions I listed before that people constantly make are REAL reasons. These things will ruin your chances at being financially secure EVER. I didn't say that they were the ONLY cause of it though.

  • My parents could not afford college or university. More over they then needed financial help. So I left high school and began working. I managed to find a good job, dangerous but high paying in a stone plant. I worked there to 5 years until I was laid off after billionairs plundered the stock market. I used my 25% interest credit cards to buy basic needs. I couldn't out run those interest rates and intentionally so, because I now owe double the principle. So should I have to pay double? my fault

  • @MrSmith1002 Yes you should. You see,by obtaining a credit card, you are entering a contract by which you agree to pay the interest rates outlined. By not paying the balance, you are breaking the contract that you agreed to. You didn't get another job after you were laid off? How did you plan to survive after being laid off? Certainly you realized at the time that credit cards had to be a temporary measure and couldn't work out for more than a couple weeks right?

  • @MrSmith1002 I guess I should point out that while you couldn't afford basic needs to live, you have internet service and a computer. I bet you purchased a tv with your card too didn't you? Come on, be honest.

  • @Martano666 I think you missed the part where I said I was doing well with a job that I lost directly because of the housing bubble. So yeah, I had a computer and internet connection and no I have never once purchased an electronic on my credit card. After EI ran out I used it to pay bills, buy food and bathroom needs like toilet paper. I cancelled my internet connection, cable, and home phone.

The point is my credit card company took 12 billion of TARP at 0%. I have to pay them back at 25%!

  • @Martano666 you do exactly what they want you to do.. blame ppl for living beyond their means.. congrats your a sheep

  • @jesskat Well, I guess I am a sheep of the government. You should really join me though. It's much nicer going to work every day knowing that I will be retired soon. It is the very government that you protest that has allowed me to become wealthy.

BTW, here's one thing I do differently than the 99%.

*I take responsibility for myself and the money I spend.*

You, will never be wealthy. Because YOU, don't listen to the successful people all around you, I did, and still do.

  • @MrSmith1002 A lot of people made that mistake.. Its not that you did anything wrong. Most people aren't sitting there thinking that big corporations are trying to take everything this guy owns. A lot of people go into contracts with businesses thinking I'll pay my bills and everything is good, but lately more and more Big companies are just trying to sucker every dollar out of you.. I use Bell Canada for my phone and every month I have to fight over charges that aren't there.. They're scammers

  • @Martano666 What about the poor people in China? do you think they are put in that position on their own free accord.. When you actually think about it Martan don't you think that is pretty horrible that companies like wal-mart get to make billions of dollars and basically kill all the mom and pops in a town simply because he own politicians and knows how to bend the laws in his favor... No more exploitation of people, its time we decided their are things they can't do to make a buck

  • @jesskat I agree. It is horrible. But it's an open market. If a larger construction company comes along, they can under bid a job that I bid on and then I don't get the job. It's the same thing. It happens to me DAILY! That is why I don't plan to work in my day job for my whole life. I have taken action to allow me to earn dollars without working. There is nothing stopping anyone else from doing the same thing. (in ontario that is)

  • @Martano666 I think that your missing the point m8, Its about the Politicians that take Hundreds of thousands of dollars in (Donations) and hand out contracts to the same firm for cash. This happens all over the world. Making a good living and having money from businesses is one thing.. But are you a exploiter..do you exploit child labour, or is your product made in china..Do you pay taxes on your company or your business.. Many Corporations do not...

  • @Abstruse1nk Well maybe I am missing the point. The problem is that there is a whole bunch of issues being protested here. There doesn't appear to be an organized leader either. So it's no wonder that I am having a difficult time understanding this. I'm sure you see what I'm saying. There are people there protesting the marijuana laws along side 20 other 'movements'. Plus, the video is titled Rich vs Poor, which is not helping to make the point clear.

  • @Martano666 I know where I stand on the issues, and your right there has been no clear cut leader or any proper orginization, however these people and there words speak the truth, its ridiculous what the econemy has become, we spend more to kill people than feed/home/heal them, Something needs to be done, governments need to be regulated in there spending, and they need to take money out of politics all together, money leads to greed..And not all people are fair..some take advantage

  • @Abstruse1nk I agree 100% with you on that. Now, here's one other issue you mentioned before. The large companies uprooting and moving to countries like China so they can make higher profits due to lower wage requirements. Is this really a bad thing? I mean, sure, some Canadians will lose their jobs, but in reality, don't you think the Chinese people need those jobs a lot more than we do? I'm not opposed to child labour. There are kids working on their parents farms in Ontario for no pay.

  • @Martano666 the first agenda is to simply raise awareness to the situation. yes there are many people out there for different reasons that they identify with. the occupy movement is like a mega phone to the world, handling different issues . the main goal is to wake those who are sleeping and educate the masses. the corruption is being delt with through boycotts and we are able to have critical mass to announce to with having a family all over the world. i can explain more if you message me

  • @Abstruse1nk No Canadians are protesting the Chinese government for allowing such low wages to be paid to the citizens. Why is that? Instead they protest the corporations (which is pointless). Don't they realize that if the Chinese government forced a minimum wage increase to a higher level, it would deter companies from moving there? It seems a little selfish of Canadians to claim that they deserve those jobs before any Chinese citizen does. What do you think about this point?

  • @Abstruse1nk In case you haven't noticed, I am interested in understanding this protest. That is why I am discussing this with you. You are actually discussing this with me unlike many of the other comments to your video that make idiotic claims like JessKat who asks: "Did you know that the police are told to only ticket the poor people?" Claims like this are made by idiots, and the claim can be disproven simply through logic. These people are hurting the protest of some real issues.

  • @Martano666 You dont know what your talking about

  • My question is what about the rich people that rightfully earned their money? There are many hard working people like myself that recognize the opportunites available in this great province and are profiting greatly from it. I can understand protesting "corporate greed and corruption", but simply protesting against the 'rich' seems pretty childish to me. We have a great banking system in comparison to the US, so maybe we should appreciate it.

  • Saw a Che flag ... did that person even know wht che's views were on revolution haha? I hate people who show his face but know diddley squat about him.

  • Anyone who is a tax payer should be for this protest.. I don't understand ppl saying Canada shouldn't get involved.. As if What the states do doesn't directly affect us.. Huge corps get away with murder and they can go anywhere in the world..Am tired of ppl getting away with exploiting every resource and ppl and if they make money doing it then they get a free pass. We need more regulations. Occupy wallstreet asked the world to unite against the rich and they need all the help they can get.

  • 99%

  • 5:53. man in yellow has got his sign backwards. lol why isn't anyone telling him ?

  • @mancheromanchero we did, but he said he likes the attention it gets him..Who was I to argue.

  • @mancheromanchero Because they're really mocking the situation!

  • I like how CTV says there was merely 'hundreds' of people.. looked more like thousands to say the least.

  • Ok now please disperses go home now AAAA!

  • @njorgensen1154 HAHAHA Scary right! Im use to UFO's and aliens but this is terrifying. lol

  • @Abstruse1nk

Its just the beginning. If our governments don't take heed of what the people trying to to tell them they will fall.

we've come so far as people now it time to move forward stop letting the man lie to us. Nothing will come of the marches tell their life lost or blood shed. It should never come to this but that will happen on the path they are on now!

  • Canada has it's own fed, the government needs to print it's own money here as that is the only thing that helped us survive the 30's depression.

  • @441rider I suppose were upset they print off more for some than others

  • interesting...

  • FIrst! Good work..This could end really well or really bad. I hope we all get what we really need.

  • @Onecyded You fail at first

  • We need to start fighting back, we need to embrace change and allowed to grow together..we spend more on killing people than we do on saving peoples lives or feeding them..Ridiculous..I like this vid :D
