wonderful. how did u do it? did you do each individual frame like Disney used to do? or by digital manipulatiion? how did you do the cartoons? draw them on paper?or in a computer graphic? what kind of spftware was used? alot of questions.
Just so you know ... the cartoon is an oldie from the 1920s, probably, and was itself a spoof of the Hatfields/McCoys hillbilly feud. The poster here put music and sound-effects to it, although he did have to make sure the timing was right. He did a good job, technically; but the result is very misleading -- just look at the post from mmmbeachlover, who gets it all wrong and unintentionally reveals more of himself than he intended.
the footage of the orchestra came from a "soundie" Soundies were printed in reverse, and projected in a vending machine. The picture was reflected off of a mirror onto a rear projection screen. I saw no need while editing this piece to flip the image.
You don't have to be Jewish or know Yiddish (although it helps) to enjoy and appreciate the humor and music of the great Mickey Katz. I love all his parodies, my favorite being "Sound Off", Mickey's rendition of the famous army song - that one's hilarious! But then all of Mickey Katz' songs are.
thanks, cinegraphic, for posting. and to you, byron, for sharing with me. this looks to be somewhere in the missouri ozarks south of the lou and kc, don't you think?? LOL
"Uncle Laibl shtupt zich vi a hazer, uncle Laibl, get off the table", haha. - "Uncle Laibl eats like a pig, get off the table" - that's what I've heard.
HA! Guitargirl has Mickey Katz on her iPod---wouldn't that just toast his bagel! And on a Spike Jones clip a few pages back someone said the same thing--to think these guys were popular in my parents and grandparents day and kids have them on their iPods--Good music never goes out of style!
it brings me only bad memories!!

Where did you get the footage of the orchestra in a fight?
MrUnidyne 3 years ago
The destructive orchestra was conducted by Milt Britton. The clip was lifted from a Soundie musical short, "Poet and Peasant Overture."

'Kurwa' in Polish is the worst swear-word.

my jewish mom told me that in yiddish, kurwa is a whore
DENNY1921 2 years ago
Because it is. But it is also a word that Polacs use in almost every sentence :)
