  • it brings me only bad memories!!

  • Just great! Thank you!

  • What's this Mickey Katz song called?

  • The music would be a great ringtone...

  • Love that Yiddish sound !!! .

  • Oy gevalt, klezmer rednecks!

  • We need subtitles!

"OK - you're Sir Sir Sir Knucklehead!"

  • This is really great. I remember this cartoon when I was Young.

    This is really Great.

    Have Fun

    God Bless

  • What a clever stick you are!

  • ya left the scene where piggy turns to pork! great work tho :)

  • Mighty cool Thanks

  • i hate the beeping sound!

  • wonderful. how did u do it? did you do each individual frame like Disney used to do? or by digital manipulatiion? how did you do the cartoons? draw them on paper?or in a computer graphic? what kind of spftware was used? alot of questions.

    elliott in New Orleans.

  • Just so you know ... the cartoon is an oldie from the 1920s, probably, and was itself a spoof of the Hatfields/McCoys hillbilly feud. The poster here put music and sound-effects to it, although he did have to make sure the timing was right. He did a good job, technically; but the result is very misleading -- just look at the post from mmmbeachlover, who gets it all wrong and unintentionally reveals more of himself than he intended.

  • thanks. you did a great job.

  • big noses and beards..wotva next!!!

if only other sections of society felt free to poke fun at themselves and not over-react in such sensitive fashion...

  • He who can laugh at himself on Tuesday can pisch on himself on Sunday.

  • I'd be grateful if someone could write and translate the yiddish for me.

  • Someone can, but thy're busy replying to your comment right now.

  • I want the lyrics! This is hilarious! ^_^

  • Am Israel Chai !

  • Teh awesome!

Where can I find the lyrics? What's the original title of this song?

  • Great! Thank you for posting!

  • Where did you get the footage of the orchestra in a fight?

  • The destructive orchestra was conducted by Milt Britton. The clip was lifted from a Soundie musical short, "Poet and Peasant Overture."

  • thank you

  • There were pigs dancing in the kitchen! It was quite amusing and as another commenter wrote, The music sounds like it was made for this cartoon!

  • it's dirty language ....

    KURWA Language!

  • What is dirty about it? I think Yiddish sounds cool.

  • 'Kurwa' in Polish is the worst swear-word.

  • my jewish mom told me that in yiddish, kurwa is a whore

  • Because it is. But it is also a word that Polacs use in almost every sentence :)

  • One problem: Why is the orchestra shown in mirror image?

  • the footage of the orchestra came from a "soundie" Soundies were printed in reverse, and projected in a vending machine. The picture was reflected off of a mirror onto a rear projection screen. I saw no need while editing this piece to flip the image.

  • That cartoon could have been made for this song

  • Ah Mechaie!

  • Absolutely brings me back to my youth. It warms my heart, Thank you so much, Bless you for making my day.

  • You don't have to be Jewish or know Yiddish (although it helps) to enjoy and appreciate the humor and music of the great Mickey Katz. I love all his parodies, my favorite being "Sound Off", Mickey's rendition of the famous army song - that one's hilarious! But then all of Mickey Katz' songs are.

  • A wonderful pick-me-up after the work week! It will make Shabbas even sweeter. A toizent danks.

  • ich ken zein freilich heint. Zei gezint.

  • oy... sheyn, sheyn! :))

  • You'd be shocked at how many MK fans are out there. We lie low because most of us are getting on in years.

  • Thanks for posting this. Does anybody know who the live action orchestra is and what that clip is from?

  • I think I saw Pete Townsend bustin' his axe over someone's head at one point. :-)

  • "Poet and Peasant" by Milt Britton and his Orchestra.

  • I guess now we know where the Plasmatics got their shtick from, no?

  • HA! Guitargirl has Mickey Katz on her iPod---wouldn't that just toast his bagel! And on a Spike Jones clip a few pages back someone said the same thing--to think these guys were popular in my parents and grandparents day and kids have them on their iPods--Good music never goes out of style!

  • oy! the real problem is that i remember that original hatfield vs. mccoy's cartoon on tv in the early 50's.

  • I saw the real cartoon too. I like what CineGraphic did wit this though.
