  • I had A 72 nova once,it had A 350 with A two barrol carb,I won alot of races with that car,it was the fastes car I ever owned, damn I wish I had it back...

  • I WANT THIS CAR. im a starter, 19, and really want this model. is it the same model as the 85 models? and where can i find these cars? will the prices be WAY out of a 19 year olds price range? because i want to save up for this car and slowly add and fix it up through out my life. thanks!

  • @Austeenob They are getting very hard to find. The 85 models are a joke compared to the older ones. For the price of one fixed up around $10,000-$50,000 depending on what size motor, year, and whether it is a Yenko or not.

  • @Austeenob Hey mah man, just thought I'd help you out. Get a third generation or older (1974-) The 85 models blow haha. But yea dude I just turned 20, I actually picked up a 1973 SS for $500 when I was 18 with no engine, no tranny, straight body. Luckly i had a 383 stroker from my dads old vette that i dropped in, just need a tranny and a new rear end. Just check out your local craigslist. You can still find them here and there. You can probably get a running project car for like $2500-3000.

  • a chevy 383 is a 350stroker its as simple as this .

  • I'm wondering how the potential compares with the 383 mopar. How about swapping one into an old Roadrunner just as a conversation piece..I suppose this'll mess with some loyalties both ways...be nice.

  • A 383 is 400 small block internals In a 350 block. Know ur shit before talking it.

  • lol that was tight. yall are on some high shit haha

  • lol so let me get this right, you take the parts out of a zz383 and put them into a 350sbc rofl . Iam sry buy thats about the dumbest thing i have ever heard lol . come on guys . if you dont no theres something called google lol.

  • Sweet good work.

  • MY RIDE IS HOT BUT MY BURNOUT IS HOTTER

YOUTUBE IT AND YOU WILL SEE

  • I think I just had an orgasm.

  • @TehKitteh01 Ditto!!!!!

  • thats a bad ride man

  • Same 383 emblems i hav on my 74 nova

    classicindustries i presume?

  • Depends on your knowledge of building motors and if you have a 350 block already. If you do than building it yourself is cheaper. If not, than buying a complete crate will save you time and money in the long run. Plus alot of the time you get some sort of warranty with it. A complete Crate will run you $3,300 and Up

  • Sweet... Is it cheaper to make your own 383 out of a 350 block or just get one pre-made (stupid question I know) but never seen how much it takes to machine an old 350

  • Lol i think he scared the piss out of that guy on the bicycle.

  • What you pushing for hp

  • Holy shit......

  • sweet nova bro

  • @1986z28owner. Jesus, hunterc01 really screaming obviously has no F'ing clue what hes talking about, Ima go out on a limb an say hes one of them, A+ youtube assholes. His comments are just mind boggling!.

Bravo-986z28owner- thats a sweet nova. and your a real person. *Thumbs up!*

  • hey TheRealRyan68 just wondering if you know the paint code/ color name of your paint job. i just picked up a 72 nova and love the color of yours

  • smokin

  • dont ever let me know your address because I WILL steal it lol

  • i got me a 350 small block in my 72 nova it runs and im only 13

  • what country is this? haven't seen any buses like that around los angeles. The signs and the name of the city above the bus is also in spanish.

  • Love the blue! Beautiful car.

  • LOL I drive a '68 camaro, check my vids...

  • everyone thats old scholl says 383 is a chrysler product not a chevy lol its a stroked 350 to a 383 lol

  • yeah, the actual 383 motor is a chrysler motor, but there's a common stroker kit to turn a 350 into a 383. lol im sure thats what u were saying though :O

  • Nice ! wat gears do u have in that thing?

  • I had a 72 with a 488 rear end.

I remember punching it while going 30 mph and having the back end let loose.

You didn't have to power brake it to get it to light up but the top end suffered.

    What are you specks?

  • 4.88 - that's pretty short for the street! Did you have an overdrive tranny?

  • oh man, i want one!

  • wat exhaust do u hav on there?

  • I love the 383 badges, nice touch.

  • beautiful, my brother and i have a 71 we're about to drop a 383 stroker in.

  • why do classic cars always look like there going slow

  • public transport....its out there . right on

  • who cares? muscle cars look nice

  • what does it mean when they say the engine is stroked ?

  • longer stroke = bigger combustion chamber....

  • Comment removed

  • LOL...You probably scared the SHIT out of that bus driver! SMOKUMIFYOUGOTUM!

  • nice youtube name. very nice

  • About 3 years back I sold my everyday (only) driver - 1971 Nova with a 400 sbc. Looked just like yours and was 11.60's all motor with it. Drove it for 5 years and sold it on Ebay to a guy in New York named Lou.

  • Damn, is that a 72 Pickup behind it?

  • Oh, that'z nice.

  • I Got A Question: Is A 383 Stroker The Pistons, Rods, And Crankshaft From A ZZ383 Block, Into A 350 Bottom End? Just Curious... Or Is That Exactly What A 383 Stroker Is?

  • 383 is a 350 block with a 400 crankshaft, and longer connecting rods. You can build one by ordering a stroker kit out of pretty much any performance catalog, You just need to have a good 350 block, and have it clearanced at a machine shop for the 400 crank.

  • i've got a 69 chevelle malibu with a 350 in it.. and i have been thinking about strokin it out. About how much do you think i would have wraped up in doin so? roughly

  • I'd find a 400 4 bolt and stroke it as the money involved is nearly the same except buying a good block... stroke it to 434

  • @TheRealRyan68 longer conecting rods? and have it clearanced? LMFAO why post a video you dont know jack shit about?

  • @HunterCO1 Your one to talk, Put a longer stroke crankshaft into a 350 block and your going to have to clearance the pan rails and often the bottom of the cyl's for the rods, and it is very often to put in a longer rod(a 6" rod for example is what i run) when building a 383.

  • @1986z28owner you don't know what your talking about that is what they did back in the day to make a 383 stroker you use a 400 small block crankshaft the rods clear just fine they are both small blocks and have the same clearance. Also you use 400 small block rods and they are shorter dipshit since the deck hieight is the same for both blocks.

  • @HunterCO1 using the 400 rod is the extremely old school way of doing it, You may be able to re-use a standard 350 piston, but you loose the benefits of a longer rod. Its a well known fact that when you build a 383 clearancing is need due to the fact that GM designed the 400 block it was meant to handle a 3.75" stroke crank, meanwhile a 350 block was designed to handle a 3.48" stroke crank, so to say they are the same and that no clearancing is needed is stupid on your part.

  • @1986z28owner um dipshit they use the same rod I just threw that in to see how stupid you are. they are the same block and rods the simply move the rist pin to compensate for deck height. and once again dumbshit you dont need to machine the block they are the same except a 400 is siamise cylinder they are the same dimentions!

  • @HunterCO1 Actually DIPSHIT, a 350 uses a 5.7" rod while a 400 uses a 5.56" rod you fucking tool. So maybe before you go arguing and calling people names thinking you know you shit, you should get a fucking clue. Go try putting a 3.75" stroke crank/ and a set of rods and pistons(whatever rod length you would like to use) in a 350 block and see how well is turns. All you did with you so called "test" was prove your a moron.

  • @1986z28owner your a fucking moron and just proved it LOL!

  • @HunterCO1 Why because i proved you wrong, I cannot stand fucking retard backyard know it all mechanics like you, Just because it dosnt make sense in your simple fucking brain, dosnt mean it isnt true. I do this shit for a living, I may not know everything, but I seem to know a fuck of alot more than you, and have worked on engines worth more than what you make in a year.

  • @1986z28owner umm dumbfuck your the one and you might want to scroll down who claimed you used longer rods and now all of the sudden you use shorter ones you sir are a complete fucking moron. Yeah I have built many motors in my life jackass and I can assure you that you do not do this for a living.

  • @HunterCO1 When did i claim I used a shorter rod, I used a 6" rod, 3.75" stroke crank, and a Forged SRP piston with a 1.125" compression height , and I can assure you, i do this for a living. Hey guess what, they make pistons with different compression heights for the guys that want to use different rods lengths! Wanna know more about my combo? go ahead and ask.

  • @1986z28owner dipshit you claimed you "USED A LONGER ROD" your a fucking moron I have no doubt you clean the floors and are to tool donkey where you work but get over it. you cant even read much less understand what the fuck you have said.

  • @HunterCO1 Im done, talking to you is like talking to a 6 year old. Anytime you wish to see what i do for a living feel free to ask. But in the meantime you can keep changing oil and brake pads in hondas, I assume your a mechanic, right Mr. Expert?

  • @1986z28owner really well I will keep being a tech and engine builder while you change oil at grease monkey and when your caught with your pants down on youtube you can always delete the post you made that shows your a fucking idiot. but yeah I must be the 6 year old LMFAO!

  • @1986z28owner Never mind asshole you removed the comment from your video in which you said you used a longer rod and that started this whole pissing contest. However dipshit I always copy and paste on Youtube as chickenshits like you have no balls to back up what you say. Would you like me to copy and paste the post you deleted?

  • This isnt my video? I have deleted no posts, so post whatever you like, but i guarantee it came from your tiny brain, Look down, I cleary stated i run a 6" rod, (twice BTW) never said otherwise.

  • @1986z28owner I have not doubt this is not your video and you could not build that car if your life dependid upon it.

  • @HunterCO1 feel free to send me a message, Il give you my facebook and you can see what i do for a living.

  • @1986z28owner no thanks you have proven enough that I doubt it would entertain me. I love to shoot the shit with fellow engine builders, car buffs and fellow hot rodders but some how I doubt I would be very impressed with your lack of knowledge.

    Thanks anyway

  • @HunterCO1 You aumse me, Im done, Ive made the offer to show you the truth, your to ignorant to maybe open your eyes. Its so called "engine builders" like yourself that will take any chance to blame the machine shop when something goes wrong with there engine because they have no clue what they are doing and are not willing to shut up and listen at the fear of learning something. Look it up online, go buy a book, whatever, I guarantee it will say exactly what I have said.

  • @1986z28owner wrong little boy bin there and done that now go blow smoke up someone elses ass! I don't blame the machine shop I double check the work and if it's not right they get to eat it plain and simple. I dont use the internet to build engines either that is a bad thing just a hint. Also have not met a person at a machine shop yet that has a fucking clue about engine building they only know how to machine them and you best double check that.

  • @1986z28owner so i have read you argument between hunterc01 he really has no fucking clue about what he is talking about

  • @85monte350 lol, Thats why i stopped, little does he know I also crw on a nostalgia nitro funny car. Cant argue with an idiot.

  • @1986z28owner ur bad ass fuckin hunter guy doesnt know shit hes probably a janitor at a fuckin highschool. u fuckin owned that coversation . he's a complete dumbshit. i hate people like him.

  • @TheRealRyan68 and bore .30 over.. if not it would just be a 377

  • @TheRealRyan68

OR buy the 3.75" stroke crankshaft with 350 counterweights from summit (i think scat makes it?) for like $180 and drop that in with the longer rods

  • @159002 a 383 is just a sbc 350 bored .030'' over makeing it 383 cid the stroker part is the crank the engines "stroke" is the distance from the crankshaft center line to its rod journals stock 350 stroke is around 4.00'' what is dose is incress the engines "leverage" so it produces more twq. and the expense of RPM

  • I FUCKING HATE YOU... thats nice

    75 nova..

  • i got a 73 nova. its all stock. i just bought it from my neighbor. how much would it cost to get a 383??

  • you buying it from somewhere... or buying the block and building it up yourself :|

Check a Jegs catalog, you can find one for maybe pre-built with 350hp that'll run ya 2-3grand . haven't seen a book in awhile , just a guestimate. .

  • do an iron block 6.0 swap. those engines sell for cheap, and even if you leave it stock, the lq9 6.0 pushes ~365 at the crank from the factory. and it's fuel injected so its better on gas mileage then a stroked carb'd small block. just my .02

  • I'm at that power with my 383 stroker in my '87 1500 Chevy, gets 26 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg in the city. Just have to dial in the carburetor/ignition timing real good. I'm going fuel injected with it though, just for the even greater mileage increases and cold starts.

  • yes I believe you but the 6.0's stock :P

  • I know the 6.0's don't get good mileage in the trucks, cars are a whole different ball game, probably do much better. No experience with them in a car.

  • yeah the trucks are pretty bad. 07 vortecmax get 10-12 depending. not to fun for a daily. I'll post an exhaust vid of it up probably next week after my magnaflow catback is installed.

  • GM Performance manufactures a 383 HT (High Torque) engine right out of the box with 355hp and 435ft/lb's torque. Around 5-6k

  • my neighbor has one just like that. except i doubt its a 383. same paint n wheels tho. wheres this car from?

  • Whoa, looks like you almost lost it there. Be careful.

  • :D nice car!

  • Gone are the days when you could do this and get by with it very many times.

  • dam man you sure did pwn that bus lol nice ride

  • Sweet Blue. That Bus didnt stand a chance.

  • lol.

  • wow I love it man. Sweet ride

  • what year is that chevy pickup in the video....i got a 72 chevy pickup... 402 big block with flowmaster 40 series...and for being 16 its badass haha

  • i got a 87 camaro with a 305 sbc pacesetter headers and a cherry bomb glass pack muffler gonna put a 383 stroker in but for being 15 its badass haha

  • i got an 04 5.4 triton f150 haha

    suckers. =P

  • hahahaha 5.4 ford hahahahaha a 383 is about 6.27

    whos the sucka now???

  • @SG88 and a 406 is 6.7L HAHAH

  • 5.4? dumbass. ive got an '70 nova with a 427! CBB, thats 7.0 if u know how to do the math...

  • me and my dad have a 72 true with a 383 stroker to put in it, that came out of a mini dragster.

  • Sweet Nova. I'm getting a 70 nova soon

  • NICE RIDE+++++++++

  • dude thats the same nova i want, will u sell it hahaha. thats one bad ass nova. do u have a flowmaster on it,magnflow, cherrybomb. or is it stock. even if its stock its still badasss!!!! make more vids dudd.
