  • I think my Pipe band is a little Old to try this! But it would be cool! I am the youngest at 45 years old. ;)

  • @SandmanForestwalker heya, dont care about the age, just play this immediately! ))

  • @SandmanForestwalker Well, I'm 58 and female and I headbang to this group all the time.

  • @blessedalcuin Nice! I can't get enough!

  • @blessedalcuin Well I.m 62 and male and all i can manage todo these days is sit there with a silly grin on me face trying to nod my head in time to the music , but I guess in my own sad way I'm havin as much fun asany of you are

  • @SandmanForestwalker you're never too old, only too young.

  • @ArkoudoROMANTIC

    Simply: Backpipes rock !

  • Bola de borregos, critiquen lo que es realmente!!!!!!

  • Very good!

It's sounds like a Hun Celtic Asian music.

like the VÁGTÁZÓ CSODASZARVAS -band (The Galloping Wonder Stag) - HUNOK CSATÁJA - song

    Listen it!

  • That´s the sound the roman legions heard ... the night before they were raped in the germans woods

  • @bowman2062 hardly. Saltarello is originally song from Italy - from 13-14.th century. (It was song for dancing - not even war song.) I'm sorry but they couldn't hear this song in woods from German because that fight you probably mean happened at 9.th century. You raped history right now. I'm historian so I had to tell you the truth.

  • @Ceressiass

I know .. just take it with a smile. Studied history my self. We jhave nearly no knowlegde about the roman music an none about what the germanic tribes may have called music during the period of roman germanic conflicts. I take Corvus Corax just for what they do .. plaing awesome good music

  • the music is best which is played by this group

  • Awesome!!!

  • @HAZAR546 your mother? yes unfortunately...

  • @praxtiprat this is not a dead can dance song, it dates back to the 13thC

  • @shutupman -my bad i hadn't heard it before dcd -then again there's thousands of yrs worth of music i haven't heard... should have checked before commenting but tweaked a little lolz

  • ah re loco

  • Corax in Greek is raven...

  • There's no way of knowing for sure what secular medieval music sounded like, but CC probably capture the spirit of it better than anyone.

Life in olden times was nasty brutish and short, and so at festivals, with the drink flowing, the music and musicians would be wild, bohemian, intoxicating, and yet weirdly haunting and somehow dangerous - "the Devil's music" the Church would say ... and that's exactly what Corvus Corax deliver.

"Ausgezeichnet, medieval dudes!" as Bill und Ted might say

  • muy chida musica, !saludos desde cortazar gto, mexicooooooo¡

  • @moshhammer Corvus corax is the scientific name of the common raven.

  • @renataravensong @moshhammer

    you are both correct

scientific labelling has ungone many changes, most commonly they debate of whether to use latin or greek.

during the 18th century many scientific labels used both languages to appease both sides

  • the* debate

    got excited! j/k

  • Test Dept-be oltott ősi kelta finomság...

  • In Latin, corvus means raven, and corax means crow. but, according to my old latin teacher, corvus corax means crowing raven.

btw: it's stupid to seperate latin from greek, since this two languages have a interdependent history.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. Why is there on EVERY SINGLE Corvus Corax-vid here on youtube, a discussion going on whether Corvus Corax's origin is Greek or Latin? WHO CARES?

The band name origins from the land of AWESOME, and is believed to be used particularly in the EPIC WIN era. End of discussion.

  • This Music that was in middle ages today is in Balkan region its similar to this music

  • corax is Greek word meaning raven...

  • @FOTARAStheGREEK IIRC Corvus Corax should be the latin scientific name for the common crow

  • @ITAmich actually Korax(κόραξ) is raven in Greek...corvus is raven in Latin...i dont know what they mean with the phrase Corvus Corax.....rave raven?!...;)

  • Lol, poor 616702... u must be bored, to go around insulting people on the internet :( Why don't u get yourself an activity? try out... tai chi for ex : it's relaxing. I think you need it.

  • ME FASCINAN!!! LA PARAFERNALIA, LA MÚSICA... WOW!!

  • So terrible undynamic, ruff and sloppy played but the energy is great.

  • Wasn't even going to look because of the ridiculous name (latin for 'raven') , but this is actually VERY awesome. I'm impressed!!

  • @silverlight68 I don't think their name is stupid, because it's about their raven they had to left in the GDR, when they flee from there. In general, what is a non ridiculous band name ;-)

  • Great music, great production design! Good, medieval "in your face" stuff!

  • YEEEEHAAAAAW! PARTY AT VORADOR'S!

    b.s. aside great piece guys!

  • Could it be that this was in Mons, Belgium, the 7th and 8th of april, 2007 ?

shutupman, Do you have any piece of information about where and when this video was shot, please ?

  • Thats bloody quick playing man!!!!

  • le groupe est le meilleur du monde !!!!!!!

It's the best groupe on the world

    i love it

  • So below

  • wahhhnsinn...power pur !

  • I like the fellow with the devil horn-do.Kind of reminds me of a mellower version of Vorador from the Blood omen/soul reaver game series.

Besides that, these guys are mega-cool!

  • perfect !

  • I think Arany Zoltán made a correct performance, with middle ages instruments and the right rhytm

  • This gets me a mental image of William Wallace and the Scots ramming over the armies of Edward Longshanks.

  • @irenfrea Ridiculous... and, although I much prefer Dead Can Dance version, you could only say it's more... orthodox... but we'll never know how should it have sounded like, do we?

  • @irenfrea nice image but unlikely, as far as i Know this is an italian mediaval song, the "Saltarello della pioggia" ("Rain Saltarello" in english) and to answer "The FactoryOfLight as well, I've, of course, never heard the original song but, again, as far as i know it was slower, more like the "Dead can Dance" version.

  • @ITAmich yep, know that, but still this version seems to be a neat scottish warsong hehe

  • @irenfrea

Yeah, quite so. Same here. That must have something to do with the bagpipe-like instruments. :-)

  • geil einfach nur

  • music for conan the barbarian.

  • Ramming Speed...

  • it seems a "Tarantella", more than a "Saltarello".

  • I want a beer and I wanna dance, what a great song!

  • hear the version of Dead Can Dance

  • @ranXerox09

Dead Can Dance does a righteous version of the saltarello!

  • Man,see the japanese drummers,KODO,they are great without LSD

  • kann mir das video nich anschauen wer gleiche fehler hat und lösungen gefunden hat mich bitte schreiben

  • this version is a quite aggressive and fast one but sounds authentic

  • es como un tipo de cumbia es decir es musica para entrar en trance

  • They turned it into a Scots assault song!

  • @SergioBlackDolphin

XD That has to be the most epic description of this song.

  • Corvus Corax are genious!!

  • studio recording arrangement is slower and more clear then live, but that fast rithm is great for headshaking :)

  • mas rapido

  • Just a little too fast... This is a great tune, but they need to slow it down a bit. It's unclean to anyone who has been taught what to listen for. It's not an easy tune, I'm not slamming their skill by any stretch, just their arrangement.

  • play fast or dye trying \m/

  • I like this music
