I've got the CX350 (mostly the same spec but less memory) and I use Vegas too. If you're not bothered with editing your videos for YouTube you can just upload the original camera .MTS file. That will give you the best quality. If you edit in Vegas then render out to an HD format, such as the Mainconcept or Sony AVC presets. Make sure you specify an output resolution of 1920x1080 to get full HD. Hope that helps.
@absoluteeventservice I use it in ful auto mode since all the manual controls are buried in the menus, too hard to get at. And, im not a pro, i just wanted a small camcorder i could have with me all the time and flip out in an instant. For editng i use Sony Vega 9; its pretty easy to use, just drag and drop.. check out my later videos, im getting better at editing.
