I love DKW too, and I was driving a DKW Junior myself for so many years.
If you give them good maintenance (like obviously yourself) these cars will last a very long time and will never let you down.
If you want to see (and hear) a wild DKW 1000 with a modified (3channel)
original engine than type "AU 1000 auf dem Heidbergring" here on youtube.
