  • They don´t make it funny like this now a days. Hilarious!

  • Do you want plain ones or ones with our address on it?.....ADDRESS ON IT?!!....How many sheets -_- HAHAH

  • Mrs Richards

  • possibly the best single episode in sitcom history

  • Both Cleese and Sanderson appeared together again in the film The Great Muppet Caper

  • is this a piece of your brain..

  • 2 people have co-ordination problems and meant to click "Like"

  • you better go and lie down `before something else happens ` [mild threat] LOL

  • Me and my Dad watch Fawlty Towers just before the winter. It was very funny was when Mr. Fawlty was talking to a deaf woman named Mrs. Richards. Mr. Fawlty kept telling her to turn her hearing aid on but she said it that the battery would run down or run out of battery. So she kept it off and still being deaf.

  • My head. "has it come away?" HAHA lol every time :))

  • i knew so many mrs richards as a kid

  • You heard that alright didnt you?! xD haha

  • Have to use this video clip for one of my uni module assessments on communication. Love it!!

  • What?

  • "Deaf, mad AND blind." XD

  • Too bad the best bit wasn't in. The one where Sybil says something like "Something's happened to mrs. Richards." Basil's face immediately lights up and he asks "A fatal accident?" Can hardly keep myself from sniggering every time I think of it.

  • An absolute favourite :)

  • A HEARING AID!

  • Love this series not seen it for AGES! I nearly died laughing watchin this episode xD John Cleese is great brilliant actor anyone seen him in the film Fierce Creatures? Awesome film :).

  • 1:10 == BEST!

  • Die beste Fawlty-Towers Episode überhaupt! Absolute-Lachkrampfgefahr!!!

    Best episode ever!!!!

  • @Christina2291 ya.

  • What the hell is wrong with Sybil? If I was married to Basil, I'd be killing myself laughing every day.

  • Who the fuck disliked this?

  • @funkyfranx ...obviously someone with a sense of humour bypass...This is simply the funniest british comedy of all time...

  • Well sarcasm is an English thing.

  • Sad to say but more and more people are becoming like the character she played. Pushy, demanding, inconsiderate and selfish. There tHE British have a knack when it comes to being sarcastic but witty...Like Rowan ATKINSON said,' its in their DNA' SO True! Love Brit comedy!

  • One of my favourite episodes.

  • Amazing example of communication barriers in relationships. Unfortunately most people (like Joan Sanderson here) are 100% unconscious of it. And if they are, they look for excuses or blame others. First class humor supports this message. It´s my mission to help people overcoming communication barriers, so I'm glad to share this short info. For more info join my blogpost about HowToOvercomeCommunicationBarriers. All the best!

  • @nathangarringer One of the best ever! Only beaten by Blackadder imho :-)

  • Oh my, so good, so funny. Pure genius!

  • God, that hotel owner John Cleese met must have really been a naff.

  • This has to be one of the funniest things ever filmed.

  • A shot at Fawlty Towers? I was more than skeptical first, but after watching it very impressed! Especially Mrs Richards and Polly are great (to be fair you have to say that to bear comparison with John Cleese would be tough for everyone). All in all a very pleasant surprise (I say this as a devoted Fawlty Towers fan!)

I would be happy to see more!

  • funny at about :40 Polly is trying not to laugh, LMAO!

  • Comedy gold! Along wiv alan partridge i think fawlty towers is the funniest series ever. This episodes my favorite. I like that they only did 12. If they did 48 it wudnt hav been as good

  • this is anthological.... fantastic....

  • Brilliant ! The comedy of today is not a patch on Fawlty Towers - a true classic, shame they only produced 12 episodes. I have the box set on DVD, and when i watch them over and over they are still hillarious !

  • Is this a piece of your brain? Lol I love John Cleese

  • can anybody tell me where i can find the whole episode? thanks :)

  • my dad told me to watch this because he has conversations like this with my gran just about everyday! XD

  • fawlty towers has been used for training purposes in the hotel industry (ie how not to do it)

  • I watched Fawlty towers for the third time now and I still laugh the same much!!! hahahahahahaha

  • I luv this! I saw this in my Drama lesson last year, and I played Polly for a proper performance! I think I did it at drama club... I luv this! XD lolz! XD

  • "your glasses are there"

The sad thing is, I do this all the time...searching for my glasses when they are on my head.

  • I watched this in my Drama Lesson lol

  • @TwilightMoonGirl me too!

  • Joan Sanderson is brilliant :D

LMAO at Basil pretending to mute!

  • Unfortunately my Mum is just the same- too mean to buy new batteries.

This actress is Joan Sanderson, I think, from Please Sir. The assistant Principal who fancied the headmaster.

    Great actress.

  • The excellent Joan Sanderson played a fantastic part as Mrs Richards in this episode. Quality acting!!

  • I have a recurring customer at my job who is half-deaf, says "what" constantly and has the last name "Richard"- true story.

  • I still use the 'Is this a piece of your brain?' line when someone says something stupid. Pick something random up off the floor or table and say it really sarcastically :)

  • BEST LINE EVER!!!!!

  • And it was originaly cut

  • Is this a piece of your brain? :-) always cracks me up

  • Communication problems
