What's with Jeff and the neck scarf's lately ? Is he ill, covering up the aging and drooping neck skin, or is this a fashion statement. Here, it looks like he is having trouble speaking..sort of a Keith Richards like mumbling.
@pcollenYT: No idea about the scarfs, but as to speaking, he sounds very much like he did decades ago. Check out: youtube.com/watch?v=N5Gh_a-9frU. From what I've read, other than the time he spends on stage, he's very much an introvert.
You know Mr Beck I'd love for you to do a track with Ute Lemper i think that would blow minds as your feel with her voice those two together will be just too much take a listen if you don't already know her i think you guys would have crossed paths or should asap !
"But I do have problems, nothing is ever good enough". Wow, like a painter, Jeff is obviously his own biggest critic, but he doesn't understand, when you are that talented, almost anything he does will likely be great to others, in particular, his fans.
When he did the Turandot piece last year at the Viareggio benefit concert we were all stunned and breathless by the beauty of this track.... It was such an emotion hearing it since Puccini lived near Viareggio and he wrote practically all his operas there on the lake....
All my life I've played guitar, this album produced tears when I heard Nesun Dorma, Let me tell you, I don't cry! ever!, The most accomplished player ever, Thank Jeff Beck.
@kidzsanlorenzo I was wondering if anyone would mention Nigel in the comments for this video. I absolutely LOVE Jeff Beck and just saw him when he came around to tour for this CD. But still, when I hear him talk it reminds me SO much of Spinal Tap.
45 years on from the Yardbirds and Truth and we're still honoured to have Mr. Beck continuing to explore the frontiers of his music. The new album is amazingly lush and heartfelt and he commands every melody like a god with his fingers in the dust. Really, I can't say enough.
He's clearly no more comfortable with interviews -- but I'm sure glad to see them. Because you just know his like will never walk this earth again.
I've only listened to this CD 600 times since I got it. What a masterpiece!!! Jeff Beck said it perfectly, if there's no rhythm & no melody, there's no song there. This album was well worth the wait. Bravo Jeff! You've outdone yourself....again.
@zappalaney -- This album was not a "band" album, that's why. The concept is full-blown 64-piece orchestral and even so, they play on a few tracks and will no doubt tour together in the future.
if only every musician had these kind of standards.

If you can, try to get it on vinyl; listen with good headphones. Sounds like some other dimension of alien music!

Beck appealed to me in the 70s in one way and appeals to me 30 years later in a whole new way, he is truly revolutionary!

I ask myself, how much cooler could Jeff Beck be, and the answer is "none...none more cool." A true living legend and an incredible inspiration!

If you watch Spinal Tap, in the airport Tufnel is reading a hot rod magazine, an obvious tribute to Mr Beck.

Beck copied every thing from Nigel Tufnel... we all know that.

I had the chance to see him play at Jazz à Sète, in France, in July 2009.
I was mesmerised! The man is one of the greatest guitar players on tis bloody planet!
What he says about Pop being "push-button music" is absolutely true. Today, people do not know the difference between art and shite...
