Hi Tom, I still have this whole show on videotape. So many great performances that night and it was clear they picked the best from the whole country. I've been trying to find clips on youtube but there are not too many. Steve Halliday says he'll try dig out his and post it, hope he does. I'm sure all you guys are still doing Elvis shows for a living and rightly so. Its great finding this and would be so good to see your other performances you did from this show.

it was Leslie Crouther,but just before the shoot he was in a tragic accident ,so they brought in Russ Abbott,i hope you like it ,my shows a lot diffrent know , it was great fun at the time .best wishes

It looks to me like you were on the Leslie Crowther version of Stars in their eyes because the everything is identical to Leslie's version.

thats right it was the leslie crowther version ,but just before the show was recorded he was in a tragic accident ,which left him terminally ill ,so granada got russ abbott at the last minute,he was fantastic as a host ,funny but a true proffesional

Yeah,I bet Russ had a great time being a stand in host for Leslie Crowther. was this filmed before series 4 or was it after because Matthew Kelly took over to host the series in the same year?

its a good take of Elvis Jailhouse rock,its a real difficult song to sing,but he does a good job of it .like to see ,a lot more of him
