Agra fuels such as ethanol have been labeled a Crime Against Humanity in a UN report. Ethanol is not green. The intensive, high energy and high water use farming methods to grow corn and sugar have a positive net gain in carbon emissions. Food producing land is being used to produce fuel for cars instead of food for our tables. Forests are being leveled to create fuel producing fields. Ethanol destroys engine components and is unsafe to use in aircraft and motorbikes / scooters.
ethanol destroys engines, its been about for 60 years we dont use it because it is shit, rubber, plastic, fiberglass all melt, brass & copper (carb parts, like jets and floats) aluminum (carb and head), all erode away, it will run any engine . in to the breakers yard, i tried it it destroyed my engine as the oil seals melted, put an oil seal in a cup with ethanol in, the seal turns in to playdoh and wont go back in to shape,,,NASCAR engines are fine with it, no seals in them ..
@sok8888 you can make mash out of grass clippings. beer can be used because it already has been fermented. any plant can be fermented to make alcohol.
I'm interested in this. Where can I find more specifics? Did these guys publish any info on the rest of the story? Like what are they fermenting? how is it done? how much does it take? how much energy does the process use? does it save money or is it an expensive hobby?
I watched a movie FIELDS OF FUEL on netflicks watch instantly and the movie said basically the same thing that no one thing is going to solve the problem but we first need to cut back consumption second use everything. I liked the potential to make alcohol from crops that go un picked. Also I want to see biodiesel made from algee we alsoneed to get hybrid diesel machines in here we might get 30 gallons of fuel on our worst month usually just 20 gallons will do us per month we have light commute.
@cdltpx increase consumption, stop being told what to do, increase productivity, responsibility, and allow innovation to flourish. Stop believing the hype.
@rogersdodgerz I have fuel efficient cars I have interviewed people that have a pu truck they drive exclusively to work. Why do they do it frankly it is a sociatal norm. They could easily put their tool chest on trailers get a car with impressive economy and save so much fuel and money that they could pay their homes off decades earlier. I am for money savings why give money to people just to be something in the mind of another. Eventually they are not going to afford the v8 as a daily commuter.
@cdltpx Interesting about societal norms. People generally will always do what is gives them the least resistance (work).. apparently its easier to avoid some perceived social situation.
@cdltpx they will pay more and suffer in the future while those who live wisely will thrive. it is likely that seeing one's neighbor make fuel from grass clippings when gas is over 4 dollars/gallon will also motivate them to change
@IronEagle19d Insane is what people are I had a old friend over that we lost contact with over the years wanted to borrow camper drove large v8 smoked but wants what I have. People don't calculate what things accumulate to cost them over time. I shopped for over 5 years b4 I located the 70 camper all that time I maintained my accounts to have the cash for the right deal. That is how you get ahead you have a goal and a means of meeting the goal when opportunity arrives. That or pay retail?
@cdltpx Interesting, going along with the herd does not interest me. However, thats what I see everyone doing, going along, to get along. I'm all for big assed trucks, but mostly for my own reasons. I'm trying a fuel efficient car this year. Next year, maybe a bike, maybe a tractor, maybe a semi. But being in a non-masculine vehicle it becomes immediately apparently what the mentality of the herd is.
But thats the problem is it not? The voice of reason is very weak. The memory has become (is getting) shorter. The 30 second attention span/gratification complex needs to be satisfied. The herd cannot comprehend just how much of a herd we really are. We are grown in a cave & fed BS. Next big lie in the pipeline: windmills. The banker's phallus.
ok regarding the whole permit thing, YOU DO NOT NEED A PERMIT IF ** you are not selling the alcohol using commercial instruments such as Federal Reserve Notes, checks or Credit .. and if you properly utilize your first amendment exemption. - possession of property can not be criminal without damages, all regulatory authority is either after damages or under the commerce clause. - that said happy brewing - sew George Gordonʻs website
@paulusmctallus : Good question. I know David Blume's book, "Alcohol Can Be A Gas" has a section on that, but I can't remember the conclusions about that. Sorry I couldn't answer the question, but hopefully I've pointed where to find it. :-)
@heyerstandards It compares ethyl to meth as a fuel, & also talks about Butinol fermentation. It also talks about converting a TDI (diesel) to standard fuel injection using Ethyl whilst adding a little biodiesel for lubrication.
Hey thanks these men are great; answered that big question with this..no need for Copper so yes I agree USE the Heavy guage CPVC ""high temp stuff """"
Hello, that is a fantastic fuel still. If possible, could I get a PDF of the still emailed to me along with info for the permit? I would appreciate it very much! Thanks, Bob
@TheAlfredo67 PLEASE! Don't even think of useing pvc for drinking alcohol production!!!! The toxins produced are endocrine system destroyers amoung other things! This health issue alone could lead to government crackdown and restriction on freedom to make one's own alcohol.
Excellent info, please send me the assembly drawings or something that would show how to get all the material together since I'm not quiet sure of where to place the marbles in the cooling pipe , I'm a guy that would like to have some home made ethanol for domestic purposes.
The work that you are doing here is outstanding and accesible to all the people considering the total cost of this process, congrats!
excellent video, how long does the beer take to ferment to a high enough alcohol content? is it feasible to use benzene to break apart the water-ethanol azeotrope allowing for a distillation of anhydrous (200 proof) ethanol? or is the small amount of water not an issue when used to run an engine? very interesting video!
I have been limited by the size of my boiler. With a larger boiler I believe you could make over 1 gallon per hour and maybe a lot more. The cooling capacity of the seperator is quite high. A 50 gallon drum heated by wood is ideal.
Very nice informative video.Direct approach to the problem and most of all related to a project on a diy scale .
Thanks for posting the vid.
I'd really appreciate if you guys could give me any infos about the approx quantity of ethanol you're able to distill per our whit such a setup ( assuming to use corn ) Thanks again and keep up the good work

Did he said the source is beer? Add this to cost of the fuel to boil the beer, these ethanol will be more expensive than perfume.
