  • These early 80s NYC kids back then rock ir way harder than the kids of today or in the past decade. And it's funny to see the dancers of today wearing zoot suits and that corny looking shit and their slow motion movements molasses arthritis. I'm not with that. Never was. Just mho.

  • I FUKING LOVE THE 80´S

  • "The last creative subculture movement, after that the art is dead"

  • Glad they ended that hand holding shit

  • i been studying their cordination real good

and fits the flow perfectly each beat of

the music with moves with good timing.

  • This is the best poppin i have ever seen! And ive seen quite some breakin video's. Damn if i could just do a couple of those moves...sigh.

No im gonna look for that documentary.

    Thanks guy

  • @charlyblues It's not 'poppin', it's New York electroboogie, reflect the fast paced environment of The Naked City.

  • @Khultan

    aight , ok thanks yo.

But isnt it electrIC boogie? and what about boogaloo?

  • @charlyblues In the west coast, it's boogaloo but in New York the kids changed it up to electroboogie, yes, they honored what they admired going on in California, but the 'electro' was added to it to reflect a faster more electric style, feel me? Electroboogie is a faster, more dynamic version of west coast style of dancing, you can see this for youself and it wasn't just Normski or Mr. Freeze, there were thousands of NYC kids rocking this kind of dance. Notice the original music too.

  • @charlyblues You can even witness the clothes that the NYC kids are rocking they did not borrow too much, if any, of the west coast style of wearing threads such as baggy pants, they borrowed some elements of west coast dancing, but added to it on another level. Look at the kids here on this video, some are rocking sweat suits but most are rocking regular wear but rocking it by personalizing it.

  • wow, that black guy is mr wave in his younger years, am i wright ? and mr wiggles and fabel are also in it ?

  • pls dude tell me the name of the song soooo funkyyyy ;)

  • @walkitout321 vernon burch; get up

  • nice, inspires me to make some old school beats and music vids, coming soon to my channel!

  • this shit was fuckin off the hook, respect for postin.

  • the guy with the suit is doing what is probably the beginning of whats called Liquid popping

  • @complex2034 LOL

  • Notice the young African American boy that is wearing all black and is wearing a white glove on the right hand and the other boy who might be Puerto Rican is wearing the other glove on the left hand! lol

  • The only thing that I would change is the music. I've seen the documentary before. This music wasn't there, it's funky and I understand.

  • mad video

  • this what im talking bout even tho i was born in 82 i appreciate this, HIPHOP needs to go back to this, the roots and stop all this beef nonsense

  • "Get Up" by Vernon Burch

  • THANK YOU!!

  • heard this track about 5 years ago on a d.j. eskimo compo cd if it is any help to you. might have ben eskimo vol. 1

  • Does anyone know the name of this song yet? It's dope as fuck. Get up with it.

  • for some kids back then school didnt mean shit, just like today, i mean i gotta be honest. but my father lived in the 80's and was a teen, and he said that teens like these on the videos, school meant a lot!!! and education came first, and breakdancin was their like their "after school activity" i wud say 98% of the kids back then cared more about their education then kids back then. im gonna follow these guys' example

  • holy shit rocio look how much u wrote! man u love the 80's! if only we were teenagers in the 80's. everyone who's been young through those years say that it was a lot fun and good times.

  • and thinkin thats the style and whats hot and cool nowadays. back then those teens, school was their first priority, worked hard in school, try to get good grades as possible, school meant future to them! and then breakdancin, relaxation and havin a good time came afterwards, and this was a form of entertainment

  • what do teenagers do now? sing stupid songs like "walk it out" and start dancin like fools out in the street, that stupid dance that has to do wit snappin fingers and leanin back! what kind of stupidity is that?!!! now they do drugs, are lazy bums, good for nothin losers, and are nothin in life. everythin is about bling bling, and treatin girls like hoes.

  • we shud learn from these kids, they did somethin productive, and enjoyable back then, that kept them busy and ocuppy and didnt have time to think stupid things. they were into somethin. what do teenagers do now?

  • the funny thing about this vid, is that they werent dancin to this song, hahaha lol. it was an electro breakdance song they were dancin too. the song playin here was just placed here.

  • The white kid dances better than the black kid. lol At least on this vid.

  • this just goes to show, that teens today are nothin compared to the teens nowadays. teens now do drugs, do stupid ass dances, and are freakin bums hangin out in the streets, fightin and be all cocky, and doin other kinds of stupid shit! lets learn from these teens in this video, who occupy themselves in doin somethin productive

  • early90slova, Your first sentence doesn't make much sense: Teens today are nothing compared to the teens nowadays? You're talking about the same teens.

Also, because these teens are dancing, you call that PRODUCTIVE? Dancing is PRODUCTIVE? I'm a teen and I do MORE than just dance. I actually go to SCHOOL. Remember THAT? School? Learning? Education? Knowledge? Smart? Intelligence? Wisdom?

    Duh..?

  • early90slova, actually, I'm in college. You know: Higher learning? Books, reading, studying, grasping, comprehending, etc., etc.

I'm sorry if I sound mean, but I don't mean to. Your comments are not but of an encouragement to the younger generation. They shouldn't be just dancing, but studying as well.

  • That's why the US has the lowest test scores in the western world. They DANCE too much, and study less.

  • Im sorry about the 1st sentence, sometimes i type so fast and i messed up. I meant to say

"teens nowadays are nothin compared to the teens in this vid" and another thing, the reason why i said "PRODUCTIVE" is because im pretty sure teens back then had their EDUCATION, and time to have fun. and their extra activity was DANCIN

  • early90slova, Oh, I understand now. And no big deal about the first sentence. I was just being a bitch. lol Sorry.

    Thanks & Merry Christmas!

    ;)

  • thats ok, no problem! merry x-mas to u, and thanks. i actually added more of what i had to say. what i was trynna say is that, back then teens breakdancin meant a lot. but i kno and read that teens, for them school was a future! but breakin after everythin was done, was a form of entertainment, i mean what do teens do now? do dances like "walk it out"

  • Is one of the best videos here! Congs!

  • who were these guys?

  • where can i cop dis song i NEED IT

  • ill shizzz

  • hell yeah

  • this is true poplocking. Not any of the fake stuff online nowadays. Nobody knows what real poplocking is. its a lost art as ppl specialize more into popping and locking rather a combination.

  • Popping is popping , locking is locking originally known as Campbell Lock, there is no such thing called poplocking.

    PEACE.

  • i agree some of the cats dont know the difference
