Thanks! No he didn't die at that part. At :27 is when Misa and Light are suspected of being the ones who kill people with the Death Note (but at that part no one except Light and Misa know about the Death Note so they're just being suspected for killing) and so they are locked so the investigators can figure out if they are guilty or not.
