Yes, it's hardcover. Paperback? Normally pop-up books are hardcover binding to hold up cardboard pages with paper engineering devices.

This book has a paperback version and I also wonder how it's going to work. I want to get a copy of this book and have tried to order even the paperback version but has been unsuccessful. So, thanks very much for posting this clip. At least I can watch it here.
