I just started tap dancing at my age, and thoroughly enjoying it. I'm in a class of kids, ages around 10-12, much more advanced than me, so I'm learning it on the fly. I am so thankful to come across your videos that starst me at the beginning. I'm wobbly and stiff but I'm following you. You make it enjoyable and easy. Thanks.
@leenieluvsdogs Mostly no. If you find you are having a hard time due to the shoes then at that point you might try a more expensive pair. For me shoe choice is mostly about comfort. I would say to stay away from capezio tennis shoe taps.
Hello me again sorry but do you know were i can get good quality but at a low cost boys toddler tap shoes cause my brother has grown out of his and i didnt buy his, our grandad gave his old ones to him. oh yh and in the uk :)
Rod, do you have any tips on buying women's beginner tap shoes? I'm getting to the point where I can't do moves without them, but I have absolutely no idea where to look. Thanks!
When I do the digs with weight, I keep wobbling all over the place, even when staring straight ahead and using a really large amount of stomach pressure. Do you have any ideas why? Also, if the digs are really hard, is it ok to go on to the next lesson or not? Thanks a lot! These videos are really helpful.
@KateKracklinWritings What type of tap shoes are you using? If you're feet are close together that can cause wobbling so keep them apart. Yes it's fine to move on even if the digs are difficult for you. How do you do with dig dig step step?
amazing, simply amazing, thanks for sharing, hmm, should i see the new beginner or old beginner videos of yours... or both, im watching the old ones at this moment.
@DLZandorfRamash Please watch the new ones. A LOT of work went into making the production better and into following my online syllabus at unitedtaps(dot)com.

Ebay is a good place to get good used tap shoes. There are new ones there as well.

Does it matter what kind of tap shoes you start with? I have cheap $20 ones, does this make a difference in preformance?

@crzyazn33 Capezio CG09 or CG55 run about $50-60 at amazon(dot)com. Those should work well for you. Best of luck with your tapping.

I don't have any yet, but am saving up allowences to by a pair. I'm using sandles with a one and a half inch heel right now.
Those are a little wobbly, but less than digs.
Thanks!
KateKracklinWritings 1 year ago
@KateKracklinWritings My guess is that the sandals are making you wobble during digs.
