Rather, it would be considered impolite if you didn't, as there's not really another way to eat all of your food and it's considered somewhat offensive to leave ANY food in your bowl; even a few grains of rice.

@Pandoraforlife Actually we slurp because the noodles are hot, slurping cools them off as you're taking the noodles into your mouth and improves the flavor. It also prevents the noodles from coming up and hitting yu in the face, or getting your shirt dirty. But you must keep your face looking at your bowl.. if you sit up, it will get on you. Please try it! ^__^ But we do not slurp things like rice, or soup, it is considered bad form.. though some may do it. ^__^
