This guy is truely underrated, one of the best guitarists in metal, along with Mike Sifiringer Andreas kisser from sepultura. This guy is up there with Jeff Waters, Dave Mustaine, etc, Mike Sifirnger though, is a better rhythm player, his leads are good, but most times there either typical thrash leads or a abit basic, however, when Wilkens joined the band, he made Sifiringer a much better lead guitarist
87-89 the best years of Teutonic thrash...Joerg Tritze on Rhythm, Harry Wilkens on Lead THAT would have been a dream team. They both changed so much respectively their bands Kreator and Destruction the musical and technical level...but these were to be short lived unfortunately...lowest denominator is always stronger
wow harrys guitar playing is crazy so much speed he used a delay pedal and reverb to cover im sure more than a few mistakes but all that matters is it pleased the crowd right?
Harry took their leads to the next level, but Mike's classic, earlier thrash solos were very unique and structured and cannot be denied. Their combination was deadly.

I wish he'd come back to Destruction , or formed his own Thrash band (if he haven't already...)

He'd be playing with the new Destruction. His solos are just incredible. iLove the riffs and solos in Release from Agony.
