Start out with an acoustic. 1. You don't need an amplifier 2. You don't worry about the technical bits of your guitar (some people, even though they've just played for two months, seem to be eager to change their settings on their amp all the time, look at new amps, guitars and pickups instead of actually LEARNING TO PLAY!!!) 3. It's easier to move to electric from acoustic than the other way around.
ok, all in all, Beginner guitars aren't tht great but, like my teacher told me, It doesn't have to be expensive to sound good. Good setup and wat suits you best is wats RIGHT for you. I started on an off brand Kmart acoustic, Played wonderful and I enjoyed the sound. My first electric was a squier, there not HOrrible, sure they could be better but, if ur on a budget, there pretty good. a little setup work for wat you want and bam, can be anything you want. just play around and see wat you like.
all beginners guitars suck. But I dont really think there's a big difference in brands. Just buy something very cheap, learn your stuff, and upgrade to something better there from out.
dno if ur talking to me, but i got it as an reply so ill answer anyway:
right now i have a vox vt 30. works fine but i dont really like the whole preset sounds thing, it makes it hard to find the right tones for dif. songs, and the presets sound rly dif. from the original sounds of songs theyre trying to copy the sound of.
think ima get my hands on a proper marshall amp, <3 the sound. and sell my sg and buy a lp aswell. gotta love the fat thick rock n roll lp sound :D
My first and still only guitar is an electric london city Telecaster comet Mk1 xD
Great sound, it sounds like a fender , only 220 bucks lol :D! I dont really get it why so many beginners buy a fender.. it sounds great, but i think u must deserve it ^^
I had an B.C. Rich warlock as my first guitar.. then I got a cheap ESP V switched it out for a fender and the switched the Fender into a Malmsteen Signature :P
hmm. I think a better way to go is start out with a good acoustic, worth at least 100$
I got a dean acoustic on my 9th birthday for my first. And you learn how to hold chords better. And you don't need an amp like he said. i would for for a squire next.
I'm sure anybody trying to buy a guitar knows at least WHAT A GUITAR IS and that there's not just one kind of them lol...anyway for all you noobs actually looking for advice an acoustic guitar is harder to learn on yes but when you go to the electric it might seem easier to play...although I started on an electric and can play both fine...I'd say start w/ a Squier it's probably the best you can do for the price (made by Fender)...they sound pretty good too...although I'm a Fender guy ;)
That didnt help at all! all that did was waste of 39 seconds of my life!

I wouldn't recommend a Squire. For a little more, you can get a very nice Made in Mexico Strat for 300-400. It'll sound a lot better.
