He should have been disqualified. In the NCAA rule book, it states that a player shall be DQ'd if he commits a foul that is flagarant, and in my opinion that was VERY flagarant, regardless of whether or not the other player got hurt.

The play is over and neither of them were going to be able to affect the outcome. I know if any of my team mates did something like we would only be doing sprints all day Monday if our coach was in a merciful mood.
