it's delayed because if they release Diablo III and cataclysm at the same time then people divide their playing and choose one or the other, thus they lose the initial burst of sales with each product.

the first city you see really looks like minas tirith and when i saw diablo in the end i thought that he looks exactly like the balrog.

i think they are too much trying to make everything look epic and big, but theres nothing scary imo. i hope they manage to continue the really evil atmosphere of diablo 1 and 2.

@HyperJN Eh it didn't look that much like Minas Tirith, unless i'm not remembering Minas Tirith it was more ontop of the mountain, this city i THINK is Caldeum, and the city appears to be more on the ground level, there's just a very large citadel looking building in the back that gives a bit of an illusion. And i can see where you'd think of a balrog from LotR there, but it's actually quite a bit more elaborate and that's only his head. This i believe will be diablo's pure demon formunlike D1/2

Perhaps, but the Cataclysm development team is another group of programmers and artists than those who're working on Diablo III. They also have SOME sort of new MMO in the works, confirmed only as so far as it is a new franchise (i.e. *not* a Starcraft, Diablo, Blackthorne, Rock 'n Roll Racing, or Lost Vikings MMO).

@vegetalikessprinkles yeah i know, why do they always focus on WoW? they say they focus on their other projects just as much, but by the looks of things they aren't. Starcraft 2 for example...and diablo 3....also, it only takes them a year to come up with an expansion for WoW, but it takes 10 years to make the next starcraft...thats how blizzard works sadly :( but i am a WoW player, i still find it fun, but I just think blizzard should focus on their other projects just as much as they do to WoW

@ItsAWagonWheel It's not WoW, this is a common misconception that's starting to get tiresome. Blizzard has 3 development teams, one for Diablo, one for Warcraft, and one for Starcraft. While some members work on multiple titles (Chris Metzen for example) the bulk of each team works on their own title. An xpac for an already established game is nothing like a new title.

D3/SC2 are new fresh titles, not xpacs. The only delay was vanilla, due to unforeseen complications, and overwhelming response

Yeah it will be nice, but the Diablo series has an amazing storyline. Blizzard's warcraft storyline was butchered by WoW. I just hope that Diablo 3's gameplay and story will match up to its predecessors. Graphics mean nothing otherwise.

@Toxic Enzyme, I believe Blizzard is losing it's touch. Warcraft1-3, Diablo 1-2, starcraft were amazing. The graphics and story used for those series were outstanding. It has a serious touch in each. The cinematic was well planned and no one could predict the storyline. I wish Blizzard would regain it's touch again and make godlike games like before

yay cool. D3 is the best! but I would give it 98/100 ya know ;). Its easy, I saw the latest gameplay and the DirectX was probably 9.0c coz the rendering needed to be tuned up a bit. WTH can't Blizzard make it faster?
