YOURNOT JOHN much of unity that might be presented in the gay lesbian intersex transexual community is a fascade. Many so called straight acting gays will discriminate against effeminate men. Cross dressing is really only tolerated on stage, when its funny but things are different when they try to mix amongst us normally. Lesbians have little to do with our community and are not really well tolerated..its a bit of a myth that we have a united community
@waynieo to bad, I am just admitted to myself that i am bisexual/lesbian, and i want gay male friends to shop with (margalizing), since i am a lipstick lesbian, into club music, and I prefer men as friends. I sometimes feel like that if i had a choice I´d rather be gay and male, then gay and female. the gay male world seems more fun. I watched like a 100 gay themed movies. This film looks good. Not Latter days good, but broken hearts club good. first time admitting my gayness online btw.
Speaking as a homosexual: not only has gay been perpetuated as a self hating, ostracizing, camped mockery of living, pretentious self expression, estrogen soaked hating, and faux fashion filled existence, now this has permeated into this "masculine" as well. Fuck! No wonder our rights are mostly laughed at.
@yournotjohn but isn't this more a case in your community of those that are fat are marginalised, in fact from my understanding and correct me, even hairy muscular men are considered blah. Look at the comment on here from that bay city user. To me you say rights are mostly laughed at but to me your community laughs at each other. I suggest working not only on the straight world but your own community if you want tolerance when many in the gay world seem to judge each other on the outside
WTF. This is the biggested pile of sh*t I've ever seen.
I can understand why a cute looking guy might go for some one that possibly *looked* a bit like a bear, but to really dig some one who's into that whole lamearse subculture of calling one another 'polar bears' and saying 'woof'...c'mon. The guy should be sent to a concentration camp to have his head examined. Just gross.
Oh and some production values would have been nice. Typical TLA trash.
@Annetjie UUURRRGG UUGGGG UUGGG UUGGGHHH That pathetic hate you carry around with you will probably eventually make you run in front of a train. So I'll not bother wishing that you find yourself in a death camp, you childish little fascist...
Why does the beautiful character played by Gerald McCullouch have to fall for a twink barely out of junior high?!?! Blech! Also, way, Way, WAY TOO MUCH FAT!!! A good idea for a film. Too bad they obviously didn't have a whole lot to spend on casting...
@ABAYCITYROLLERMANIAC well I suppose just like some men like fat women you have an issue with fat, which is ok, but its a bit sad you have to be judgemental but anyway, if guys like fat or muscles bears, meh, its their choice, but shame such narrow minded body fascist attitudes have to still be in any community. Remember, you don't have to be with anyone fat but frankly if you didn't like fat why did you bother watching anything to do with bears
Trailer shows what I've suspected for awhile now--the term "bear" no longer strictly reFURs to hairy/furry guys. They seem to be now just a subgroup within the LARGER "girth and mirth" scene. I wonder how much longer fans of the (relatively) fit & furry guy will look to the "bear" community to find that. Maybe FURiends of the FURry guys will have to find another member of the animal kingdom to rally around (e.g. otter? wolf? wookie? ok the last one was a stretch). But you know what I mean?
Oh god, Bear mania is taking over. Now I sort of don't even want to be a bear. It's so generic. My back hair is going to waste on a bunch of queens who decided that one day they wanted to stop waxing and going to the gym. only a queen says. " F A B U L O U S" Vomit. I've always been fat and hairy, it's my Bulgarian mountain man genes!
@EatLickSnortFuck Very well put. The term has become very generic (one size fits all?) ... and it's hard to find the truly hairy/furry guy for which the term "bear" originally was intended.
@OpticalFascism I saw bear cub (cachorro) and while i thought it was a good movie I'm looking forward to seeing a movie that I could relate to more on a cultural level. Also who decided that terrible and US must be synonymous with each other?
@OpticalFascism Cachorro took itself too seriously. This movie IMO is much better and funnier. Yeah I didn't have a big budget and that make it even more admirable

why does everything have to be categorised? And why do gay guys (twink or bear or cub or whatever) have to be so... gay?
