Thanks expert village. Now whenever I do anything, people make fun of me.
You taught me Muay Thai, Knitting, Jazz Piano, and now Jazz Saxaphone incorrectly. I practiced these videos for years and as soon as I go out, I get made fun of.
The best way to motivate students is to show them that you can actually play and inspire them to practice. Give them cds of the greats and show them a standard to work toward.
first of all this is a good video as it does what it sets out to do, and for those of us who are beginners it is helpful.
secondly, to all the groovy "experts" who write the negative comments, if you don't like it don't watch it. Do something more constructive with your time like making a better video or examining your own prejudices. You might find out that you are so insecure, that you can't be objective about anything that doesn't fit your rather superficial image of "cool".
@FiFiLiveFromGayParee Made one mate(soz for butting in), might not be the best quality but I've posted the actual blues scale and one or two tips on how best to use them.
You take one note and go to another? Take 8 notes and do a scale over that? What kind of explanation is that? I hope this guy is not teaching anyone music. Did he know he was going to be doing this or did someone surprise him and he just started trying to act like he made sense?
OH!!! Sorry Mitch, but that was an awful video. Did that make sense to anyone? I'm glad i already know what a scale is, or else i'd be thoroughly confused right now. He spent more time talking about how many notes there COULD BE in a scale than about what he was demonstrating. But there is something to be said about improvising around a melody if you're just starting out. It's a great way to go about it.
um if pentatonic scales are 5 notes then maj and minors are 7 notes not 8 mr sax genious. And yes your intonation is terrible

lol well i'm not an expert-- i'm a student, but i can still tell you this guy sucks. the. cock. more often than his mouthpiece, i'm guessing.
tkdmaster3bd 2 years ago
@rarriration I agree. the more advanced saxophonists should make a better video so they can help the aspiring musicians out a little.

Most of the 90% of my scales which I often use over the 8 note scales are commonly full of 4 notes which can be used over these notes.
Idiot!
regninolc 4 years ago
but can they be used over the same notes that are constructed using chords, or are there more notes that you can play over the scales?
jdean9 3 years ago
This is why people don't stick with learning. Teachers with loads of inability to teach.
