I am a subscriber of yours and this shows me how to use the 'create your own workout' which had me mystified. I wrote to you today saying I felt hopeless as to what I am supposed to be doing and that your double-edged workouts were just to difficult for me to grasp (or do). I am motivated, just somewhat confused.
I (as a major fatty myself) found this fun, exciting, energizing! I don't want "Suzie" (got my own lawfully wedded rock star/cowboy), but it makes me wanna grab some iron! LOL! It's cute, Dr K, gets the message across, (NOT that fat/thin is the issue so much as sick healthy! And able to just GET UP & MOVE and do what you want to do without pain!) I think you did a great job!
Please don't misunderstand this video, the idea is to get motivated, achieve your goals and see the results, it's not about being mean with fat people, it's about encouraging them to pursuit a healthier lifestyle that will improve their lives in a lot of ways
Wow first off I can't believe some of the crap people say. Must be kids just bored and skipping school with nothing better to do than stock people on youtube :-/ anyways I thought this was an awesome way to show off your program. Thanks Dr. K
I understand where you're coming from, but trust me this video is meant to be harmless.
It's just a fun way of exaggerating my personal story, showing the amazing new technology that exists in CreateMyWorkout, and one quick way that it can change someone's world.
Allow yourself to be entertained - this isn't the entirety of my message, but it sure is nice to look and feel great. There's nothing wrong with that - and, besides, positivity is attractive :-)
I think it's a very bad video... I know that, mostly, that is the way things work, but using it this way it's simply wrong... the video says, "how you look, is the ONLY important thing" besides, the attitude of that "suzie" is simply repulsive, talking back to the guy when he gets leaner... guess where would I've send her if i was fatty mcgee???
Dr.K- I have tried the link from numerous emails sent including the above and I am able to access the first bpage whee it describes goal, level and time but then an error. Any suggestions?
My only complaint is that the instructions are confusing. You use some terminology and unclear sentences in the workout tempo and rest period description that I didn't understand.
It would help a lot if you just wrote us a 1 or 2 page instruction manual for the program explaining the workout tempos and rest periods and about how often we can change the workout routine, how often we should workout for the different workouts in the program etc.
@DoctorKareem Thanks - That would be awesome! Like I said - I have had great results from the program and I am sure they will be even better once I understand the tempo thing :)
The video is cute but having done 6 weeks of FTFL in the fall and 3 weeks so far of 30 day DEFL 2.0, I have yet to see phenomenal results. I was not as fat as "fatty" up there to begin with but do have body fat that I could do without. so far I have only put on weight (I know that the scale doesn't say everything but still). So either I'm on odd case out or the method isn't as reliable as it claims to be or I'm missing something... I'm dedicated but concerned that it won't ever work for me :-(
Hmmm.... this could be an intensity issue or calorie issue.
There are always a lot of way to adapt a program to meet an individual's needs, but I've yet to run into a situation where anyone we've ever trained in person hasn't seen the results they were looking for...
Let's dig deeper. Is there something else going on? Are you fighting with pain, medications, a particular age and hormonal change, stress, depression, anxiety, etc?
@DoctorKareem Dear Dr K, I have expressed all my issues on the support page. I sweat like never before when I do the workouts, I try to eat according to the "Diet Solution Program" that I bought a year ago and did great stuff for me a year or so ago.
I have no pain, no medications (unless you consider vitamin C, echinacea, magnesium and Omega 3 to be medications) I am a healthy 43 year-old and have been working out regularly for 17 years. My benchpressing record is 65kg. (multi part message)
@DoctorKareem It is true that I am experiencing wuite a lot of stress and anxiety lately and some of it comes in relation totrying so hard on your programs and having so little to show for it. Every week, I feel anxious that I again won't get the results that I want. I know that's counterproductive but lately I can't really help it. I am not depressed. It is possible I have hormonal changes in the works. I'll ask my OB-GYN but surely you have other clients in that phase of life?
@DoctorKareem And what do you recommend after week 4, especially if I end up not seeing the phenomenal results I was hoping 4. I do see some reduction of my belly fat and the top of my glutes (is that the polite way to say it? But my legs look the same. I'd love to come in person this summer, I'll be in Philadelphia for a couple of weeks. Would that be possible?
I think it is a very powerful video. It states very simply how reality is and how we can change our reality. It's very moving. Thank you for sharing and motivating.
@DoctorKareem Hey Dr.K first of all I want to thank you for this amazing site, it's just to awesome
And second I want to ask you, Will this continue to be free? 'cause once I got on a similar for free but it was just for 2 weeks, then they asked me to buy a membership to continue using their service
I'm glad you asked - as you can see above, it's 8 FREE Workouts, which is more than enough to help you mix things up and progress yourself into a brand new version of yourself.
With that said, lots of people choose to upgrade and do different workouts every time they work out... I guess it's a bit addictive.
Make sure to save each workout you use, and download any exercises you want - after 8, your trial will be over. Hope you enjoy!
Too True for many of our population! I love the idea of accessing a variety of workouts for strength& fat loss. Ease of access and guidance is a major contributing factor towards many peoples success
Thanks! Yeah, I'm really excited to have the opportunity to make exercise so simple for so many people. Learn one exercise at a time and get video instruction the whole time... just makes things easier.
The message in the video is largely positive, albeit manipulative, but it's disappointing that the accompanying link leads to something you're selling, yet again. I think this is very deceptive. A much less gimmicky presentation and mention of all things "weird" and the like would provide considerably more credibility to your program. @DoctorKareem You obviously have the gift of the gab. I stand by what I said.
If the video was JUST about 8 free workouts, then fine. But the punchline was to sell the complete CreateMyWorkout program via the link posted with the video.
That's not why the video is manipulative, though. If only young people in the situation depicted could hope for and achieve the same outcome. Life isn't like that. *Getting their hopes up* in order to sell your product is deceptive and manipulative.
@DoctorKareem ...cont/d And, health concerns aside, it devalues people who don't conform to an ideal and deprives them of their individuality.
You may feel you've been creative and funny, but for many people out in the real world, it's not funny at all, and your being so pleased with yourself is at their expense.
Instead of a clever come-back, perhaps you could take this on board as constructive criticism, and acquire a measure of sensitivity in keeping with helping people.
@hookywooky Bro you are being way overly sensitive about this. The point is, you've got complete control over what happens in your life, and you can have anything you want as long as you set your mind to it. This isn't asking anyone to conform to anything, a person can choose to do whatever they want. They can keep lugging around a ton of extra weight with every step and develop multiple health problems if they choose. If that's really the way they want it, I ain't gonna stop them
Hi Dr K. I like the video, the music selection if very energetic and feeds encouragement as well as makes one feel like what is now doesn't have to stay that way but gives the encouragement of what one can become. Unfortunately, the URL states the server cannot be found when I try to view the 8 workouts you linked onto you video. I'll keep trying. Thanks
Hey Doctor K - I get to creating a workout and when I select to create a workout Google is telling me the link is broken. I've tried several times with the same result.Help.
Hi, Dr. K. I'm working on getting the next 10 pounds off, but I'd really like to improve my strength as well. I've got the Ab Strength Guide, Full Throttle Work-Out Builder, and DEFL2, but I have some issues at age 62, like weak arms, some shoulder arthritis and loss of flexibility over the years, and some of the exercises I just can't do. And where I live I can't buy dumbbells with flat ends! So I modify the DEFL. Any suggestions to faster progress with strength building at my age? Linda
Dr. K, I've been trying some of your mini workouts and am finding the middle trap exercise difficult. It makes my back and shoulders hurt. I'm quite sure I am doing it wrong ... is there some modification for beginners? Or an alternate exercise that works the same muscles?
There are tons of people who have had amazing transformations, but showing you the most successful clients I've had isn't going to change a single thing... this is about you.
There's no question that these methods work - they've worked for tens of thousands of people, and I specialize in the human body. I know how this process works, and I'm here to help.
Let's leave skepticism behind us - try the 8 workouts I'm giving you for free, and let us know how it goes.
@DoctorKareem I have just started your program and plan on ditching my other workout to try yours. The workout I have been doing prior to checking out your program is posted below. I do all of the repetitions within 10 minutes or less, and after that, do 50 pull-ups, mid traps, low traps, calf raises, and squeeze grips so that I hit all my muscles. Will I lose any benefits from this workout?
That's a great workout.... pretty intense, but not necessarily what's going to shock your system if you've been training intensely, at least in my opinion.
I'd like to see you do something that's incredibly dynamic, works in all planes of motion, and gets you phenomenal results. Let's get your nervous system as connected as possible to your muscles and help you spike results that way, instead.
@DoctorKareem Thanks Dr. K, I'll start doing dynamic exercizes right away. One last thing, if I don't have any dumbbells or a med ball, could I use something else for weight on workout 1A, like my biology textbook?
Yes, the more unstable the surface (so long as its safe), the better. Think about using household items, or even just holding dumbbells in different ways. Weight-bearing exercises are different, but you get the idea.
Hi Dr. K, my name is Don and I am currently in high school and I am working on getting that last ten pounds off. I am currently following Double Edged Fat Loss 2.0 and the Isabel De Los Rios' Diet Solution program. Following Isabel's program I have gained back the muscle weight I had lost from previous crash dieting, and now have lost 2 inches on my waist. I am working on the final 10 pounds now and am wondering if you could give me some pointers
It sounds like you'd benefit from working on your breathing pattern when working out. If you're grinding that hard to have a TMJ issue, it's a sure bet you're limiting your progress by early fatigue... work on inhaling on the eccentric (negative) part of a movement and exhaling on the concentric (positive) part of a movement.
If in doubt, just keep your breath even and slow.
Make sure to grab those 8 workouts and start doing them - you'll see a big difference, and it's a gift.
Iam working out for last 10 years. My body wt is around 55-56 kg and ht- 155cm. I still have a belly which is not flat. i do my weight training and cardiovascular exercises 3 times a week. Keep up to my diet quite well. I have developed an injury (Temporal mandibular joint pain--Docs here say it is muscular spasm) by increasing my intensity. now can you guide me how to exercise by keeping my injury in mind.
First, find out what's important and associate this with your outcome.
For example, I see that you're a mom, so there's a strong likelihood that you wouldn't want to break a promise to your child. My suggestion would be to start a project that you and your child work on together. For example, your son or daughter might learn how to ride a bike, and you might learn how to do 10 minutes of exercise every day, just as a starting point...
I am trying to find the best way to get motivated. I hate to be in the kitchen for fear I will be sucked into my old way of eating. I am trying hard to not sabatage myself. Any ideas on better ways to focus are appreciated. Thanks
Just comment below with any fitness questions you have, and I'll hook you up with some complimentary coaching to celebrate the release of this video... hope you enjoy!

hey Alen,
Here are a couple tips for you:
1) relax the top of your shoulders
2) think about your shoulder blades moving, rather than your arms
3) place your arms much higher than you think (when your palms are upside down your pinky should be at least at your line of sight, if not higher)
4) consider bending your elbows until you improve, as to reduce strain on your neck and shoulders
5) watch your head/neck position. Your chin should be straight, not tiled up or down.
hope this helps!

hey Don,
Great choice following Isabel's stuff - it's awesome.
How far into DEFL are you? Have you completed the first 4 weeks?
You have two great choices in front of you, while continuing on Isabel's plan:
1)Re-visit Weeks 1-4, and go as intense as possible (that should do the trick)
2) Grab 8 workouts from here - make sure 4 of them are intermediate, and 4 are advanced.
With muscle on you, it's time to burn the rest of the fat off.

Thank you for your time,
Don

hey Deepa,
It sounds like you'd benefit from working on your breathing pattern when working out.

Sure thing, happy to help.
Don't forget your 8 workouts

I am trying to find the best way to get motivated. I hate to be in the kitchen for fear I will be sucked into my old way of eating. I am trying hard to not sabatage myself. Any ideas on better ways to focus are appreciated. Thanks
