I used to own this album back in middle school and played it almost every day. Back then my favorite tunes were ABITW, Comfortably Numb, and In The Flesh. I had my album robbed at an airport, I was dumb enough not to carry on, and after a while I stopped coming back to it. As I grew up, tunes like this became my favorite. Its tunes like this, Vera, and Mother that you can sense a personal experience as the source of the composition. Anyways moral of the story, CARRY ON YOUR LUGGAGE!
This poem of roger waters transcends all generations this is the best lyrical whim I've ever encountered. I absolutely love nobody home it is pink floyd at their very best and thank you roger waters for the inspiration that started when i was 16 and continues fervently still today. By the way I do have a little black book which I write poems in.
@Runningjoels i love classic rock. tons of classic rock. but that doesnt mean my taste cannot expand to other styles of music. its all about what sparks the passion in you, and it's different for everyone. nothing wrong with dubstep, but theres no need to criticize someone's taste
This is absolutely amazing. Here, Pink has gone totally nuts, Waters is talking about Pink losing his mind , if you read the lyrics , Pink trys to call his wife and "Nobody is home" and at the end, when Pink finally picks up the phone , theirs still "Nobody home" which means, his mind is totally gone.
@TheDukeSpirit71 the album is supposed to be played continuously as one long song, thats why some of the songs seemed to end abruptly like you said; they are meant to flow, one after the other.
@TheDukeSpirit71 The album is kinda like a movie, it has a plot and it flows, therefore some songs end really abruptly and some start like how the last song ended. it's quite good when u listen to the whole album, but it can be a tiny bit of a nuisance when you play the songs by themselves, but I think it's beautiful how Pink Floyd created it.
I really hate that Avril Lavigne made songs callled "Nobody Home" and "Wish you were here"... and todays generation will really never realize that Pink Floyd made them titles popular first.
@tacosychelas There'd be no reason for him to commit suicide. If anything, this was how he escaped his problems. In Goodbye Cruel World, many associate the lyrics with someone about to commit suicide. In reality, it's the last song before the wall is built. Waters has finally built his wall and is now saying goodbye to the cruel world - he's isolating himself.
@BlacKNighT456 that version aint bad dude. just cause this song is a classic and youtube showed that song first doesnt mean u have to intentionally type stuff for thums up.
@ScaryMonsterClub lol yeah. i suppose its been awhile since ive actually seen her or heard her music. but yeah i used to listen to this shit when i was REALLY high or trippin. i pretty much know every word.
pink floyd the wall had to be one of the best movies ever and it talks about Syde Berret who went crazies and shows all the things that led to his insanity such as his dad dieing in war and shortly after as a child his mom died as well and his wife cheated on him and he start to go crazy so it was in mimory to the origanal singer Syde Berret so just pay attention to the movie and you will see what caused him to go crazy but its not really in order so pay attention
@nick123455 ???? Pink Floyd had already broken up by the time Simple Plan even became a band. What the hell are you smoking, because that sounds like some strong shit.
To me the Division Bell sounds more like classic Floyd than the Wall, which i still love, the only album of theirs that I dont care for is the final cut because its basically roger waters solo with no group input.
