I think the girl in this one is more of a cute type then a pretty and elegant. I think in the 95 version they fit perfectly. Plus carmen look so pretty as xiao long niu and played the cold character the best. This girl when she tries to act cold seems like she has down syndrome. the guy looks too old so when hes acting mischevious and immature it looks weird. I think Hu ge should play yang guo and maybe tan yang will make a better xiao long niu

Crystal is the best looking for the role but i don't rate her acting that highly. The mainland productions are superior in their CG and scenery, but I can't help thinking that the look and feel of it all is way too modernized. The best jin yong adaptations were the TVB ones in the 80s - such classics and brings about a lot of nostalgia for me. My favourites were 射鵰英雄傳 (LOCH) and 鹿鼎記 (deer and the cauldron). Lots of raves for the 95 version - I've only seen bits of it, but my mum loves andy lau^^

i actually liked the 95 better than this version. they cut out a lot of important stuff that helped make the story deeper. sure, this version has a lot of flashy stuff and a bigger budget but it doesn't give you that long lasting memory like the 95 version does.

This version is based on the "revised edition" of the novel ROCH. 95 version follows the original work and i also think it's the best. Now this version, I've never imagined this Yang Guo to be playing Wei Xiao Bao later on lol.

I DID WATCH THIS VERSION.

She acts REALLY well, as Xao Long Nu (I totally spelled that wrong, lol), and so did the guy playing Wa Nhi.

SO YEAH, I LIKE THIS VERSION.

I just preferred '95, but again I also like this version.

So yeah, and I love this song. :)

Haha, I saw the 95 version first, but I think this version is great too, overall I liked the 95 version more because the characters fit more of their ages.

Are you kidding me? I liked the 95 ROCH too. But they had 20 something year old actors playing teenagers in the 95 version. Louis Koo trying to act like a 12 year old is laughable.

I guess TVB's budget for that series was stretched thin.

She has a innocent yet cold look and she's beautiful.Jin yong himself also said that this series is the best shen diao xia lu ever.

i tink this is based on the third revised version of ROCH by Jinyong. He changed quite a bit, including the relationship with yang guo in the tomb. Notice the jinlun fawang is no longer a monk too... yupz :)

Jin Yong is the man- no question. And this ROCH would've been so much better if they brought back some more actors from the LOCH 2003 version...like the Huang Yaoshi and Qigong and stuff like that.
