He says he recognized the voice as Donny Brasco AKA FBI Agent Joseph Pistone. Strangely, Pistone never mentions this in his book Donny Brasco. If true, I guess he was doing due diligence to try and prevent murder. But it also shows prior knowledge of murder, which might have landed him in hot water.
