Mic was freaking the fuck out at the start. He will be missed dearly. Josh took the groove with him when he left, and Mic will be taking the funk. RIP Coheed.
i mean, more life than the music has given it, which would still be a lot even without a movie. but i wouldn't have to tell any self respecting Heed fan that.
i wish claudio would get the attention he deserves and have his comics made into movies and instead of drake and twilight and justin bieber taking up all the space in hot topic it would just be prize fighter and coheed :P
@girouxcor hm, i thought i was the only one who thought that... although, unless claudio has complete control over everything including direction, i feel as though it should never exist.
it would have to be split up into several movies. maybe a movie for each album story?
perhaps a main title with a sub title. like "The Amory Wars Part 2: Silent Earth" or something. i know that sucked.. it was just an example. lol. anyway, Coheed fucking rock
I think they used the perfect instruments. The music is totally contrary to the music style and the singing but it reenforces it so well. The sound is perfect.
yeah fenders arent really for this type of music... idk why bands like this insist on using them. probably because of the name... that's like eating at McDonalds just because everyone knows about it. lol
i bet there were people in the audience like "this band will never make it big". well, don't they feel stupid. this must've been during the Delirium Trigger Ep. Were they still under the name Shabutie?
@MrTalldarkandhandsom I mean there's not really any way to tell whether it's a fender or a squire since we can't see the headstock. I have to doubt he'd play a shitty squire on stage. Obviously even back then they had enough money for multiple guitars, I doubt Claudio would have a Squire.
i love how all the photos and videos from the STTB era were all in black and white. i mean they had color. duh. i guess they knew they were gonna need the nostalgia when they got huge!
Actually fenders aren't to bad. I always used to hate on them, but for a cheap guitar, they deliver. For all kinds of music. I learned all the coheed songs on my Jaguar HH, and they sounded great. I love how coheed will have a kickass intro, like in this, everyone is moshing, then they stop and come in with a real light melodic tone, and everyone is just like, "Wtf? I was rockin out." haha. Coheed is the freaking best ever.
i like all coheed but i like their older stuff best. even the new demos sound better than the new songs. its the raw non over produced sound that makes me feel like they are this cool new band just now showing up in the scene.
@domdabombabc i like all coheed but i like their older stuff best. even the new demos sound better than the new songs. its the raw non over produced sound that makes me feel like they are this cool new band just now showing up in the scene.
@domdabombabc YES. Don't get me wrong I still dig everything they do, but in their early years, what Claudio was creating was so sentimental. also, as a band they were all much more raw and intense themselves. Inevitably, everything changes, but I'm sure they lived every moment of those years to the fullest. It sure seemed like it lol. They're still great guys and haven't lost their root of raw creativity, they're just taking it in a different direction. Still the best band EVAR!!! >:o
@domdabombabc Most people say that the 15 and 16 year old love only 1 song such as Welcome home. But my favorite album is Second Stage Turbine Blade. And Time consumer is by far my favorite.
@GentlemanGibls I completely agree only I love more or less every single track on the album. The ones that stand out the most are Time Consumer, Delirium Trigger, Junesong Provision, Neverender, and God Send Conspirator. Picking a favorite would not be easy because they're all great.
I love the fact the whole song is so energetic, and Travis screaming "Yeah Yeah Yeah" at the end. and then when they finish, Claudio just quietly says "thank you"
This is probably the saddest album I've ever heard... Junesong Provision, Everything Evil. When they say the lines "We'll make it if you believe," it's just the most tragic stuff in the world. I feel like people are missing out when they don't know they story, it adds a lot to the music.
I actually payed attention to the lyrics of Junesong last night.. and I discovered that it's about Claud in the story and in the real world missing a newo and possibly nikki at the same time also about a ship going down :) (but thats pretty obvious)
Yeah, the song is about Claudio Kilgannon's last night with Newo, where he knows he won't see her again. but can't really even say goodbye, lest he put her in danger by knowing he's alright. The entire second verse is the letter he wrote her. And the really high pitched vocals after the second verse are saying "Norris and Larry, Gloria to Nowhere," which is about the ship Coheed and Cambria are on, which is currently under attack on it's way to Paris: Earth.
Yeah, I was talking about Junesong and Everything Evil at one point. I was just saying the album in general is pretty sad, despite it's somewhat upbeat feel.
I totally agree. My mom heard Devil in Jersey City, and said "I like this song! What's he singing about?". I said, "It's about some dude getting the shit beat out of him and his fiance' getting raped by gang members." She was totally taken back.
Yeah, if there is anything I love about the story, it's that despite it being a "dorky scifi thing," it is amongst the darkest plots I've seen recently. The good guys never win in this story, no matter fucking what. The entire first album (though not presented well in the comic) was a terribly sad story.
My mom loved the chipper "You'll burn in hell while they're diggin' you out... You'll burn in hell." ... :P
Coheed's good like that.
Then again, a majority of their songs express the emotions felt in the story PERFECTLY... IE; Delerium Trigger, Time Consumer, IKSSE:3, Backend of Forever... etc., etc..
@aplavljanich and that's the difference between Coheed fans and the "Children of the Fence" (aka fans of The Amory Wars as well as fans being fans of the band). The process of the evolution from "Coheed fan" to "Child of the Fence" involves a great deal of shock followed by the ultimate acceptance of unmitigated badassery.
Claudio used to have a lot more energy. Watch this video compared to the Neverender vids and that have almost a polarizing image from this one. Either way, best band ever. Sweet video.
