Personally I think it's about his wife's still born child, based on the lines, "You're smaller than my wife imagined/ surprised you were human." and the fact that Murphy promised his wife he wouldn't tell the world what it's about.

This video is ok and sometimes captures the song perfectly.. i feel the song is about MISSING some (close) one, and the suicide scene does not ad to that as i feel with the guy going around in the city and being quite alone even though his sourronded by people, The problem of living anomymous in city is a better description of this video ( i would cut out the suicide scene) and replaced it with a

@jerkus89 Wikipedia doesn't seem to be a good source, they even quote the lyrics wrongly (it's ring of silence, not radio), but the answer is in the article, as well. It's about the death of his therapist, George Kamen. I remember reading that a couple of times when the album was released and when you look at the lyrics it makes total sense.

Maybe I should clarify, I think the video is well done and all, but the end just doesn't fit. And at least you used the album version...
