I would really like to see that picture. E-readers are okay, but adding on to what you already said, it's annoying to have to charge it, and you can't flip through the pages like a regular book (mostly I just do that for english though). I'd be interested in what you are reading, but I would also be interested in the general type of book that it is and why you like it (which might help me decide how much I want to read it).
Ahhh, reading books in a hammock. That is certainly the way to do it.
Airports are stressful. We should just invent time travel.
Sometimes, my dreams are really bizarre, like when I was little and dreamed about this mutant celery stuff that ate dead mallards. But when I got a job last June, I definitely had my share of work dreams. I work in a grocery store, and in one dream all the tills were arranged really weirdly and so it was a work dream made slightly more exciting...I guess.
@AllOtherNamesTaken2 I've been to Australia, New Zealand, England, Germany, Quebec, assorted US states, and a few other places...traveling is perhaps my favorite thing to do.
Your remark that you get boring dreams when you're satisfied with life was thought-provoking and reassuring for me. Thanks.
Lately, I've been having a reoccurring dream where I go to visit my brother (he has long moved out of the house I live in). I always have such a wonderful time during the dream, but I wake up feeling so melancholy afterward, knowing that it wasn't real.
@justinhabit That happens to me sometimes too. I've been watching a lot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer so some of the characters are in my dreams sometimes, but they never seem do anything very interesting...
hahahha, I laughed out loud at your description of your passport picture...
your work dream also sounded kind of funny since you had to go to work right after...
my dreams are sometimes extravagant and intense, but they're either about something scary or something I'm not very interested in... I wanna lucid dream!
Haha yes, I have boring dreams too. Usually just sitting around talking with friends, in my room, at a park, in a bar, at school. Just endless talking about nothing interesting. That's interesting about the TSA thing. And I'm glad to hear you took to ebooks well. :)
@DavidVlogs That's interesting that so often your dreams are about conversations - mine are almost always my thoughts in my own head, with very short conversations with other people once in a while. Do you ever remember specific topics of conversation or parts of the dialogue? This idea of elaborate dream conversations fascinates me, like they could inspire writing/other creative projects.
As a pure anecdote: I had a dream in which you and I met. You were wearing your "Harold Loves Maude" sweatershirt, a flowered skirt, and blue converse sneakers. I was wearing my usual. Oh, and it was in the middle of Civil War.
I can't remember when exactly I had that dream... but if you recently had a dream where you met a frizzy-haired youth very out of place during the civil war then perhaps we have unknowningly succeeded in telepathy
@violetichigo1999 I'm kind of jealous of your elaborate-sounding dreams and the details (my outfit!?) you can recall from them. I don't think I've ever dreamt about a war of any sort, and I don't tend to dream about people I haven't known in real life (besides characters I feel like I know from movies/TV shows). We'll have to keep working on that telepathy thing.
@alyiswriting Well, I've never come across a person in a "Harold Loves Maude" sweatshirt and the concept infected my Delta brain waves. Characters play a big part, especially if they're from books. Your perception of a written character fills them out in the reality of the dream. I don't always recall dreams in elaborate detail. For instance, I remember havng a good dream where I carried on a conversation with Isaac Asimov and yet I can't recall what we were actually saying!
I had a dream last night in which Harold Lloyd and I went on a road trip. We were seeking to find the most perfect and cinematic clocktower to hang off of for a photoshoot. I don't know if we ever found this clocktower. The really peculiar thing I remember is turning to Harold on various trains and airships and saying, "Pardon me, I need a drink of water." and then I would wake up, get a glass of water, and proceed to awaken and drink it whenever said dialogue happened.
A lot my dreams are about things and anime's that end up watching. I kinda envision myself being a part of that world and living through the characters. Its kinda fun, though i do have the occasional boring dreams like the ones you talked about, i have literally had a dream were i was in a classroom listening to a lecture.
I don't think i can ever get the same feeling as reading a book from an ebook. I personally enjoy flipping them pages and slamming books into my forehead.
@MrWyldfyr Yeah, I mean I still prefer reading an actual book. But e-readers are nice when you're a fast reader in another country with only a backpack for luggage.
I think they were swabbing for black powder since it stays with you even a few days after being in contact. Also, I didn't know you were also a nerdfighter! DFTBA ^-^
@MyInterwebs I did some Google searching and I think you're right, it has something to do with guns and explosives. At the time my imagination was going crazy - thinking they're testing my DNA, they're secretly injecting me with something thru very tiny painless needles, they're taking samples to make clones from...
for a span of a few days in mid 2011 I was having terrifying nightmares every night.it was bad, but it stopped.one time i had to wake up at 5 am to write a paper that was due at 8 am and i had a dream where i went through the whole process of writing it but then woke up to the dismay of it not being written eve though i had already experienced writing it.
and my library offers e books now, but i dont know how widespread that is or what percentage of their library is available in electronic form
@ZeavoTown But was the paper easier to write in the morning after having written the rough draft in your dream? Did you remember your main points and arguments?
And I'll have to investigate further whether or not my library offers ebooks! That's an exciting possibility!
@alyiswriting that was how the dream added insult to injury- i woke having just experienced the rigors of having plotted and written an entire paper, but none of the details were really retained. It was like working into the night to bang out a 7 page paper, only to have the file erased at 5 am and have so start over and retype it. only worse, haha.
I like this video a lot because you covered a bunch of topics. The dream about going to work and then actually going to work made me laugh. Well I had a reoccurring dream in High School that senior year had begun but I had forgotten to sign up for AP tests the previous year so I felt like taking those AP classes were a waste of time so I was mad at myself and mad when I woke up. It was really weird. My dreams are usually about ordinary situations but how I wouldn't to them react in real life.
@lifemakesmelaf I think it's interesting that I dream about being late to work so frequently because I'm never late to work in real life. I guess my dreams are also about ordinary situations with me reacting in a different way, or ordinary situations with some things slightly off. But that dream about a full day at work was exactly like a full day at work.
@Hellybot If it's something you're interested in, lying in bed with your eyes closed for a few minutes right when you wake up seems to help me, also once I start writing down things I remember I tend to remember more.

When I remember them, my dreams are usually pretty wild. I can definitely empathise with your security check experiences though. Every. Single. Time!

I most often have cinematic dreams.
I don't fly because of the TSA. I refuse to give up my 4th amendment rights to get onto a glorified bus. Security theater does no good at all.

@alyiswriting We all make our choices. I don't judge. But for me, I can't throw away the rights that people died to grant me.

I know that e- books make sense in certain circumstances but you can't beat a good old book...especially the smell of books.

When you want to close the book, just flip the ereader over to trick yourself. It involved the same movement and hides the text in the same way.
You travel a lot. Where all have you been?
And you get boring dreams when you are satisfied with your life. I wouldn't be worried about that.
