  • arabian! :O

  • i like her but i love Shawn Johnson more sorry!

  • lol 1:23 is hillarious great performance

  • 01:55 is just perfect!

  • i don't like her. the 'dance' is bad and the tumbling looks only good cause she's tall

  • Careful, dear, the green-eyed monster is rearing its ugly head.

  • Ummm, which dipshits disliked this video!?!?

  • I love Nastia Luikin SSSSOOOOO much, I wish I was her!

  • wait it was a 15.525 out of what??

  • @cheddarpretzels

    ok thanks!i was jw....

  • BRAVO! Beautiful and inspiring, superhuman.

  • I love when the guy who's talking says at the end Liukin your beautiful to watch... and it's very true. :)

  • As soon as the commentator says that she needs to get a 14.85, I just hav that gut instinct and so much belief inn her that I just KNOW thats she's gonna make it.

  • she reminds me of a stick man

  • Nastia is really good !

  • You just know Yang Yilin was praying Nastia and Shawn wouldn't hit.

  • @Floatie114 Nah, she's a sweet girl and probably more than thrilled with that bronze. She wasn't even the Chinese national champ going into this. Jiang was.

  • @MrAerial12345 or a double arabian back?

  • @MrAerial12345 can they do front saltos???? like a double front, I think that's worth more than a D or at least a D...

  • @MrAerial12345 cool, so it can be anything as long as it is a d skill?

  • i'm confused.... she did 4 tumbling passes, but i thought they were only allowed to the three...

    BUT AMAZING!

  • Comment removed

  • Its kind of like stick it, The last event where people choke.

  • WOw this girl is gorgeous. Not just her face (beautiful) but her movments!!

  • Not many people can stick landings the way she does... damn..

  • @Reflex19841 Or like Gina Gogean, for that matter.

  • She doesn't do any backhandsprings...

  • she's so skinny! long legs :P

  • Oh my Gosh every time I watch this routine and I reach 3.51 I've got tears in my eyes.I just realise how hard was for her and how hard is at all to win ALL Around or EF gold medal. I wish I could be a artistic gymnast even for 1 day :))

  • yes you are looking at the AA Olympic champion:)

  • I don't think Nastia is better than Shawn and I don't think Shawn is better than Nastia. They are completely different and in the this all-around competition it was really about who was better that day and Nastia was stuck her vault, beam and stuck a few landings here which if she hadn't she would have gone out of bounds and lost the title. Shawn is an amazing gymnast as well who has also accomplished SO much. In my eyes it was just about who competed better that day.

  • What's the background music?

  • @TheCarydal you mean her floor music? dark eyes.

  • suck on that, yang yilin.

  • I only realized now how awesome Nastia was at that all around event. The way she just hit the landing on the first pass says it all. Nailed and and presented it like nobody's business.

I love the joyful relief in her face for a moment when she hits the final pose. She knew she had killed it.

    lol at the Chinese girl.

  • I can watch this every day and wouldn't fed up with it ;P

  • definitely over scored...put this routine next to anna pavlova's routine and this routine pales in comparison to pavlova's beautiful balletic and expressive routine. pavlova's execution score should have been higher than nasty's.

    PERIOD!

  • JUST WATCH THE F***ING VIDEO

STOP FIGHTING, over the internet....really? you're all dumb for thinking you can get through to each other

  • she is truely magnificent <3

  • This goes perfectly with Pang Panpan's 06 floor music!

  • Yeah I agree too

  • What was the 3rd pass?

  • @tumbletumbletumble01 1.5 twist to Rudi (1.5 twist front).

  • do you need to have classical music to do the floor? Cuz i tried doing my routine to shake it up, and my coach said it would be imposible to do my routine like that

  • @Shadowcatanaya i thought you could do it to any kind of music as long as it had no lyrics...? -- i did mine to like some clown music... but i was younger so....

  • @JJ00love

probably explains it, cuz mine was selena gomez music

  • @Shadowcatanaya yeah probably... shake it up sounds like a good song to do a routine to though..

  • @JJ00love

i think i should use the song, but get the karaoke version of it

  • @Shadowcatanaya sounds like a good idea :) and good luck!

  • @thalia1998100 also agreed. lol :D

  • she's so light on her feet!

  • @thalia1998100 Agreed :)

  • >=0 OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @missbruingal Nastia doesn't dance?

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 ---Please re-read my post. I stated that Nastia is one of the few gymnasts who actually incorporate choreographed dance in their routine and not simply a series of hops, skips, and leaps in between tumbling passes, as sooooo many gymnasts try to get away with. I am currently on deck to become an Official Gymnastics Judge this fall and I can tell you this: I WILL deduct for gymnasts who neglect the dancing element in their routines.

  • @missbruingal I'm very strict about not having dance. I would deduct .5 to .3 if it was up to me. But if you're going to become an Official Gymnastics Judge, then you should re-watch this routine. Nastia does not dance. It's a series of poses. If you want to find real dancing, I strongly suggest you watch Ksenia Semenova, Viktoria Komova, Anna Pavlova, Ana Porgras, Aliya Mustafina, Sandra Izbasa, Madeline Gardiner, or Anastasia Grishina because Liukin is not dancing, but merely changing poses.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 Clearly we feel differently. Nastia dances beautifully. Apparently I'm not the only one with this view, as tons of expert gymnastic commentators, current coaches, current judges, not to mention legions of Liukin fans all have said the same thing; that her dance is both beautiful and graceful. I'm not sure what your definition of "dance" entails but clearly, it is vastly different from the norm. I only hope our future gymnasts watched and learned from Ms. Liukin.

  • @missbruingal And by commentators do you mean Tim and Elfie? They know nothing. A lot of Liukin's fans are young girls who don't know much about the sport. My definition of "dance" is something that clearly wasn't put together on the sport. For example, 1:24-1:32 is something anyone could do on their first try doing it. Watch Pavlova, you'll see hours of balletic training behind her even in her hands. I hope our future gymnasts don't have froggy legs, long hesitations, scissor legs, and poses.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 Justin Bieber's fans are little girls. Nastia Liukin's fans range from gymnasts, ex-gymnasts, and non-gymnasts, young, middle-age, and old. Your attempts to discount Liukin's dance ability is convincing no one, particularly me. Your statement that Tim and Elfie "know nothing" further cements your lack of knowledge of the sport. Clearly you despise Liukin for whatever reason but one thing is certain, she is a BEAUTIFUL dancer. Period. Respectfully, I'm through debating this.

  • @missbruingal Of course, Nastia's fans are of all ages. Your attempts to prove to me - and the people who know what real dancing is - is convincing no one. Amongst the people who have a better discernment of the sport, they agree that Tim and Elfie, although decent (if not brilliant) former gymnasts, have a huge lack of knowledge. Clearly, you are a very judgmental person. I do not despise Liukin. I don't like her bars or 08 dance. I love her beam and her dance in 05. 08, terrible dance. Period.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 As I've stated repeatedly, I feel differently. However, in the future, you might want to consider using your own words when replying to other folk's posts instead of merely plagiarizing.

  • @missbruingal How was I "merely plagiarizing"? You must not realize that you can't sue me for writing what you wrote. The "Period" was mocking you. I took what you wrote and I rearranged it so that it made sense. Because thinking that Liukin had dance in 08 is hilarious. Wow, can't wait to see what you do as a judge...

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 Oh for heaven sake, what are you, 12? Blah, blah, blah is all I hear in my head when I read your now-ridiculous posts. Suing you? What are you talking about? Did you not get the irony?

What was I thinking....I know better than to "argue with an idiot because others watching will not be able to tell the difference between the two"~~~Mark Twain. The word "idiot" is stronger than I'd like but I'm so entirely done with you and your ridiculous idea of dance. Last word. Done.

  • @missbruingal You said I was plagiarizing. It's not like you can sue me. This is YouTube, young one. Way to bring in a quote. Samuel Clemens, nice. That's okay. I don't have a ridiculous idea of dance. I HAVE an idea of dance. You don't have one. You have shown me zero evidence of Liukin's so-called "dance" in this routine. I gave you parts where she only posed. All you've done is argued without anything to back yourself up. That's really pathetic. Last word. Done.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012

I'm with you ShawnVikaKomova2012 on this thing, all the way!

nastia's fans are TOO sensitive and can't even handle their favorite gymnast being criticized. missbruingal is one perferct example. and yeah, totally agree with you on Elfie! that woman should just stop commenting, she's always biased and shows no respect [through her comments] on other gymnasts. i love the BBC commentators way better, they always say something nice about any given gymnast

  • @yaoryu Thank you, I'm glad you agree with me. Don't get me wrong, there are things about Nastia that I love! Her consistently solid beam routines in 08, her incredible 1.5s on vault, and practically everything she did in 05. I loved her in 05. 08, not so much...

  • @yaoryu What you fail to realize "yaoryu" is that while I am a huge fan of Liukin's dance, I am capable of understanding that people have DIFFERENT OPINIONS as to what constitutes dance. Your little buddy "shawnvikakomva2012" is either too stupid, too ignorant, too idiotic to comprehend that people are going to have different opinions than hers. Fact of life. Does that make my opinion more or less right than hers? No. She arrogantly believes her opinion is FACT, when it it is not. Nor yours.

  • @missbruingal I accept people have different opinions than me. And unlike you, I'm not going to resort to name calling. It shows how childish some people can become through debates.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 i can't believe that i actually read all of these posts and im responding as well (i try not to get involved in petty arguements over the internet) I am a professional dancer and choreographer and i must tell you that in the eyes of a dancer/former competitive gymnast she is one of the only people who have actual choreographed dance in her routines. but if you really believe she doesnt have dance in her routines wait till this year, her fx is choreographed by travis wall!

  • @Poopieashley I've heard and having followed SYTYCD, I'm very excited for that! However, I do not think she's a good dancer. She was in 2005, just not after. Modern day gymnasts with dance I admire are Ksenia Semenova, Anna Pavlova, Ksenia Afanasyeva, Ana Porgras, Mattie Larson, Sandra Izbasa, Larisa Iordache, Sui Lu, Mai Murakami, Zeng Siqi, Aliya Mustafina, Viktoria Komova, Anastasia Grishina, Anastasia Sidorova, Alyona Polyan, Anna Dementyeva, Sabrina Vega, Mariya Livchikova, and Cheng Fei.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 uhm....obviously she's a better dancer because she won ;D

  • @MrAdertat In the 2006-2008 CoP, dance and choreography had nothing to do with the scores.

  • Comment removed

  • i wonder how tall she is she has long legs or am i just imagining

  • @mustlove1love i think she's 5'3''. which is like supperrr tall in the world of gymnastics.

  • Nastia really deserved it. She is the truly gymnast. Not just power...

  • every time I watch this I am amazed, her legs and her flexibility is unparalleled. she sticks it every time.

  • I miss my Gym days :)

  • After watching this, it makes me want to do gymnastics. But I'm to tall, I'm 5'8.

  • @928kcg I think Sandra Isbasa is about the same height as you and still she is olimpic, world and european champion...

  • @dobcsek Eh, Izbasa's 5'6", but that's still not too far off.

  • @928kcg Nastia's 5'8 or 5'9 too :)

  • @fasinantee I though Nastia Liukin was 5'3...

  • Comment removed

  • @928kcg Oh, I confused. But you could always practice trampoline gymnastics, that's fun too and 5'8 is okay for it :)

  • @928kcg She is 5'3, she just looks taller :P

  • @928kcg

    You can't be too tall i'm12and 5 ft 7 and i do it :D

  • @928kcg your not too tall theres girls in my gym taller than you

  • @928kcg you're not too tall!!!! I'm a gymnast and I'm 5'7

  • @928kcg nastia looks tall here but she is only 5 feet tall. shawn is 4 foot 7 at the time of this video.

  • @gymnastics404 Liukin was 5'3'' here and Johnson 4'8'' at the time.

  • @928kcg ur not too tall, all it means is that you have to work harder

  • @928kcg im 5'9 and im currently a level 9 and a state champion and have a regional title, go try gymnastics itd be good for you

  • @928kcg i do gymnastics and im 6 foot

  • @928kcg its never too late. you pursue any goal! I do gymnastics and i have no hopes of olympics just to have a blast!!!! Its soo fun!

  • I love it how gymnats never step out side the white line when getting ready for a tumble :) Loooovvveeeee Nastia Liukin

  • her dad won gold for the USSR

  • I agree with all of her scores but floor. I think she was way overated in the AA and EF. She croosed legs in every twisting pass. And the dobble front is horrible, the knees are almost behind her neck!!!!!!

  • that was her best year in floor, vault, bars and beam! they were all perfect!

  • quien dice que no se puede tener todo a la vez..además de buena gimnasta es muy guapa..

  • I LIKE NATIA, BUT I THINK THE REAL WINNER IS SHAWN. THE ONLY APARATTOUS WERE NATIA IS BETTER TAN SHAWN WAS UB!!!.

  • 1:50 All the people in the background are hoping that she landed out of bounds. :P

  • Graceful, beautiful, gentle yet powerful. Anything that means DESERVED to the worlds best gymnast until London 2012.

  • words cant enen describe how amazing she is and for all the haters your just jelous you will never be as good as her no one is!!! thumbs up if you agree

  • @crazygirly178 There is a difference between criticizing her gymnastics and hating her. I don't hate her, why would I ? But I don't like her gymnastics. It does not make me a hater or a jealous person. But you, are the typic Nastia fan who know only Nastia when it comes to gymnastics and who are annoying as hell.

  • @Missnewyork28

yeah i dont really like her gymnastics either. i mean i dont hate it, but i'm not really drawn to watching her routines, makes me cringe - crossed legs on twisting, flexed wrists, butt shelves, boring choreography, exaggerated movements, and it looks like she's not wearing a bra under her leo here...

  • @undertheweatherandbu

oh and i forgot cowboy legs on her double front ... ack ... dont wanna see crotch

  • i miss her in the gymnastics world :(

  • shes like a stick insect.... and the high five thing is really cute:)!

  • her open leg spin is amazing (:

  • I think its so cute when Shawn and Nastia high five towards the end!

  • I don't think Nastia is that graceful. Look at Ksenia or Anna they are more graceful than Nastia

  • love her

  • I love Liukin. She's one of the last graceful gymnasts instead of super powerful gymnasts. The lines in her body are so graceful, it's like watching ballet. Go team Nastia!

  • @drjustinjohnson you realize thats her dad lol

  • i love liukin sooo much she looks so elegant and graceful and natural just love her

  • ah-maz-ing! Being a gymnast myself, she is definitely my idol. I look up to her every single day and see what I can do to be as good as her... even though I never can.

  • Why does the commentator call her Anastasia Liukin at 0:25

  • @iitzxniicole anastasia is her real name; nastia is just a family nickname.

  • @iitzxniicole

thats her moms name...i guess he just got confused for a sec

  • @iitzxniicole - Her name is Anastasia. Her nickname is Nastia.

  • haha I only know Nastia Liuken from teh movie: Stick it <3 :)

  • @drjustinjohnson He patted her leg.

  • she havent vagina! she have a small penis :D

  • one word. WOW.

  • She NAILED that double front! And by far the most beautiful dance of her time!

  • @WHATTHEBUCKSHOW Buck I'm watching cuz you linked it!! But I watched it live too!

  • i feel fat looking at her....

  • What a great gymnast.

Her dad has trained her so intelligently, they way he put together the routines and how they dealt with her injury. I have great respect for them

  • i cant believe people say she was overscored. sure she had some tumbling breaks, but he leaps and turns and dance were prfect. as for shawn she didnt get credit for her switch ring for not hitting 180.

  • @gymnastagirl141009 She also cowboys her double front like no one's business. But yes, I agree, her lines and dance are beautiful.

  • @LMA629 i still give her credit, she said that tumbling hurts her ankles soo badly, so yeah it might be cowboyed. im suprised she has the power to do it. but shes my idol:) winning aa gold with a hurt ankle, i have a hurt back it makes me fell like anything is possible(:

  • I remember watching this. The entire time I was thinking, "don't step out of bounds, please don't step out of bounds." :)

  • liukin, you are beautiful

  • I'd just like to point out (that while Jiang and Liukin are nothing alike), if you play Liukin's floor with Jiang's music it matches.

  • shawn johnson and nastia are so diff... nastias tall and slender while shawn is short and muscular. nastia tumbles forward mostly, while for shawn its usually back. nastia is long and stretchy like an elastic, while shawn gets load of height and has tons of power..... the combination could be SUPERHUMAN!! hahah but... they both already are.......

  • this just amazes me...

  • 14 people are from china.

  • @skittleluva12344 lmfao

  • umm im sorry, anyone who disagrees with the scores, are you an olympic gymnmastic judge? no.

  • @lydiee12 Are u to say that the judges took the proper deduction ? NO

  • @lydiee12 Yeah you should be sorry. First of all, how do you know no one is an Olympic gymnastics judge? Second of all, gymnastics is a VERY subjective thing to judge so disagreeing with the score is not only understandable, it is expected. Just because YOU don't know the finer points of gymnastics doesn't mean other people don't and that there isn't merit in what they are saying. If people want to comment on how they disagree with the results, they can, and you can just get over it.

  • do you get deducted for bouncing out of a leap?

  • i love you nastia! you're amazing and beautiful along with alicia sacramone and shawn johnson! my fav gymnastss! :))

  • @kesharox888 there is no1 lolz

  • @sexybutnasty lol what?

  • I feel fat. This is amazing I did not ever think people could do this. Someone prove me wrong and tell me there is someone better than this gymnast

  • @36rollingthunder yea aliya mustafina from russia and viktoria komova from russia

  • @36rollingthunder I'm going to get 1000 thumbs down but I can think of a lot. The best ever is Viktoria Komova. ;)

  • @36rollingthunder

There are plenty of better gymnasts than Nastia Liukin. I mean, she was the best in 2008, and she completely deserves her AA gold, but 2008 was also incredibly weak in terms of AA players.

  • @36rollingthunder Their is, believe me!

  • @36rollingthunder I think Aliya Mustafin is one of the best of today, of course we can't compare them because Nastia has never competed against Aliya. If they did I'm pretty sure Mustafina would blow Nastia away with her difficulty, but she has horrible execution.

  • Comment removed

  • @36rollingthunder just look up tons of gymnasts that are in the side bar, they are all amazing.. the next generation of gymnasts that will be at the 2012 olympics are, alyia mustofina, alexandra raisman, rebecca bross, alicia sacramone, joryden wieber, deng lin lin , sabrina gill, dominique pegg, etc. they are all amazing.

  • @gymnastics404 I agree

  • @wwDevichan I never bring Nastia up when watching Johnson, or Bross, or anyone else for that matter. I judge gymnasts on their own capabilities- not based off the standard of the past.

  • @wwDevichan You don't even like gymnastics, do you? If you truly did, you'd just enjoy the sport, and stop bashing other gymnasts.

  • I would score it like this: .1 for crossed legs on the layout front double (AKA the first pass) .3 for leg separation on double front .1 for crossed legs on the front 1.5 .1 for step on the front 1.5 .1 for crossed legs on the front 1.5 .1 for step on the front 1.5 .1 for lack of control on the 2.5 back layout .4 for more than 2 second pauses on each pass = 8.6 B/E score 6.2 A/D 14.8 I didn't deduct for possible underrotation of twisting split leaps as the angle was not great.
  • @afgymnast96 THankyou hehe got me there for a second...the math teacher in me said "what!?" :P

  • .1 for crossed legs on the front 1.5

.1 for step on the front 1.5

.1 for lack of control on the 2.5 back layout

.4 for more than 2 second pauses on each pass

    = 8.6 B/E score

Out of 6.2 A/D score, she would get a 14.8

I didn't deduct for possible underrotation of twisting split leaps as the angle was not great.
