I never used to listen to barnsey as a kid/teen growing up in the 80's-90's coz I always thought barnsey was a constant screamer, but have recently gotten into his earlier stuff when I actually listened to his stuff, because of it I now wish I'm spending my current age (30) back in the 80's
@Peterplayingguitar Neil Schon,Journey...Barnesy was set to take Steve Perry's place...this was supposed to be Journey's follow up to Raised on Radio...
@Darrinmanly I thought so! I always thought Johnny Diesel played on this song until i saw the clip recently and i thought..'well that looks like Neal Schon?' . Great guitar playing on this track. I wonder where Barnsey would be now if he joined Journey?
fucking gold!!!! .. is that his missus in the clip? .. he and Deisel got themselves some god sorts.... I've listened to him sing with his daughter live a few years back .... Brilliant!
When VanHalen was looking for a lead singer, all I could think was, Jimmy Barnes, you morons! Don't know if he'd take the gig, but, God, can you imagine?
@Cyote57 Dude! It's one of my favorites too. Told guys to buy Freight Train Heart, and if they didn't love it, I'd give then their money back...Never lost a dime. Got a lot of "Thank yous," though.
As the Art Director of this clip I can assure all those below that THIS IS the original clip for Too Much Ain't Enough Love.
Most of the night exteriors were shot at ~02:00 on a Monday morning at the bottom of Pitt Street Sydney, redressed to hide the obvious Sydney bits. Night club was shot in a studio in Balmain. Exterior establishing shots done in Hong Kong. All other versions post date this one.
Poster was designed and printed in Sydney, actually tells part of the "back" story.
I think you might be right but it does look like her and this quote is from wikipedia on Jade Macrae"Her work with Mahalia Barnes lead to work as a backup singer with Jimmy Barnes"
Yeah Jade Macrae would have been around 8 years old when this video was made so it wouldn't be her in the video but yes she has done backup singing for Jimmy Barnes which must have been when she was first starting out as an artist.
Underrated song. Great to see Schon and Barnes in a clip together, they really worked well together. As Psymongg said we never saw this clip in Aus. Mind you the Australian version is crap compared to this one, with the Aus one, Johnny Diesel obviously unfamiliar with Schon's guitar solos.
This is not the video released in Australia. This must be some sort of Asian release of the song. The original Australian film clip was filmed on a stage with very red lighting. Great Song tho.
Love this song, love this album. This is one of my all time favorite ballads. What soul this song has.

Who is the mad guitarist performing that solo at the end?
simplegorillaz 1 year ago
@simplegorillaz Pretty sure the guitar player is Neal Schon (Journey).
jungkvist 1 year ago
@jungkvist Your 100% correct. It was Jonathon Cain who produced Freight Train Heart. And Neal Schon played on it.
