I've had grand mal seizures for 32 years...I've been on Dylantin and Phenobarbital, and now I'm on Tegretol but it isn't fully keeping the seizure activity down. I have tried different diets and nothing has ever worked fully, but I've never tried the Ketogenic Diet before...this video is very interesting to me-I want to try something that works for others and see if it might help me!
I have some mental health issues and a loose diagnosis of temporal lobe epilepsy, I was wondering if there are positive effects for those with TLE or mental illness?
adjusted my ketogenic diet. I now eat less fat and more non-grain carbohydrates like vegetables, fruits, and dairy. I've lost a little weight and I really like the effects on my consciousness. Yeehaw! :)
Since I first saw this video, I started the ketogenic diet. I've been on it for a month now, and already it's wonderful! I can remember names, like I haven't before.
Medication: Dylantin was BAD. Too strong. I don't know if it didn't actually damage my brain.
Gabapentin at a low dose (200 MG a day) helped me very much. My seizures might have been lesser, though. I think it's very gentle. It's actually given usually in conjunction with something else. But, I take it alone.
I have a former classmate with this type of case.. so sad. hope this can really be cured
