@TanyaLive When it comes to makeup there are no rules. Us as professionals we can calways try different looks. Its just like cooking. You don't ever play by the roles. It also depends on the eye shape of the client. Light colors highlight, darker colors recede and another important factor is the look you are trying to achieve.

Yeah... not a very good smokey eye at all. Very messy, The blending was pretty bad as well. I would blend the darker color up into the lighter, not the other way around. Otherwise you don't get the fade effect. I would also disagree with the amount of shadow she put underneathe that poor girl's eyes. If you wanted a balance, I would gently line the buttom of the eye with a thin dark liner, then lightly trace the bottom, very thinly, with the middle shade that was used as a base, usually grey.

And yes, I take into consideration that everyone has their own way of putting make up on... but honestly I think most people would be very dissapointed if they had paid for make up application and got that as an end result...

love the 'two minute' make over concept thats really big these days! i think this smokey eye look goes brilliantly with the model's general colouring...her eye colour particularly, but i'm not entirely sure it would work for me who has darker skin hair and eyes. all the same, loved it.

i think it was ok, but i think the amount of makeup that was being used was too much. she should have sofend the whole look by applying a more neutral color such as a silvery white, or a soft golden color. Also, i think she applied too much on the bottom part of the eye, and should have been a thiner line of blue. But overall, it was pretty good and it was an ok job done! =)

it depends on tastes, but I don't think she did a bad work. btw, she doesn't wear that much make-up as you think: if you take a look around youtube, you'll find she's actually wearing less make-up than many many others. and if you think all that make-up is too much for you, it doesn't mean it's the same for everybody, does it?

Smokey eyes are used to stand out on the stage under mega-watts of lights for modeling, theater or pageants - so yea... its not meant for viewing 1 foot from the person at a cocktail party. I know there are a lot of negative comments about this look, and I hate to add to it but it really isn't a good job. It doesnt look too bad but its not perfect. I am a professional makeup artist and that is very similar to the runway smokey eye that I learned. Runway makeup doesnt have to be perfect because a makeup artist has to do a fast job but this is definately not a good look to go out! It needed another shade on top of the black to balance out the look

you should never use something as sparkly as she used for the upper/crease, and the way that she blended them together was poor, she didnt use a brow highlight, or an eyeliner pencil, and they are 2 of the most important things in a smokey eye
