  • I'm pretty sure Soul Street is a MP original. I'm familiar with Pay The Piper. It was the B side on the Winners 45.

  • Hi Judge - great to hear that Soul Street is on Youtube now - will check that out. It was one of their top numbers early on, but is 'Motown'......do you know who wrote it or performed it originally.

Chinese Nightlife was a highlight number - probably a classic. Pay the Piper - largely written by Garry , I rate as an all time rock classic . Sometimes it would just stun the audience, though worked better if Alex said nothing ( except sing lyrics ) during it......profound and powerful.

  • Wow - talk about a blast from the past . This classic 'happy' rock number written by Alex was always a feature in their gigs for first year or so . Really should have been recorded - eg in a 'live' album which would have ben a smash hit and captured the band at their best . A great vibe hearing it live, and even now. Still top solo work from Andy on woodwinds. - bob beresford .

  • @bobBeresford1

I hadn't heard it before in the half dozen times I saw them back in the day. But I was happy Soul Street & Saturday Love both got played at the Reunion Shows.
