@LNERMallard: Mmm, not anymore. They are most likely manufactured in China... They're first manufactured in China and then they're shipped to the U.S. to be assembled. You mayt even see the label that says, "Made in the USA." However, just because the label says "Made in the USA" doesn't mean that is TRULY made there. Some parts including the motor itself are made in China.
Absolutely. I--one time--even saw EmersonCollie's video on "Death to a cheap box fan." It just goes to show you that China-made box fans are not worth keeping or saving--even if they're on the curb for pickup...
Those will accually last a few months longer than the Lasko fans...Plus thier blades are thicker, and are not as round. I kinda like brace bladers in a way.
The early braced bladed fans were decent and they did blow a decent amount of air. The modern day (2007-2008) braced bladed box fans were "Made in China" junk. They actually reduced the fins on the modern day bracers and thats why their airflow is so bad.
i miss those ole skool boxfans from the late 70s, early 80s to the early 90s. They were basically squared with a 5 bladed fan, a fat ass motor in the back and they make a shit load of noise on hi. But dammit they blew like hurricanes.
Me too. I miss the old vintage American-made box fans from the old days, but I also miss my old late-80's SEARS Vintage box fan made by Lasko. And I also miss seeing some of the Lakewood box fans too, not the modern trash of today.
Yep. Thats very typical of this fan. The fans that Lasko/Galaxy makes is even worse even though they doen't have the brace. The blades on the Lasko/Galaxy box fans are so thin that if you accidently drop them they'll break. You are 100% correct. Todays fans are JUNK. I bought me a vintage 2nd generatiuon Lakewood P-223 off of ebay and it runs great. and blows a lot of air unlike todays shit.
When fans like these die, me and other fan collectors distroy them. Chainsaws 4 Wheelers, blenders.
Yeah, I know, I've seen those cheap Lasko kinds a the Home Depot and I also saw a few of them at the window as well. I'd rather have an American-made only Lasko/SEARS Vintage box fan with the penthouse control and of course, the Lakewood 3rd generation box fan even though I had never got the Lakewood box fans before... I would've told my cousin that if this cheap box fan dies, just dispose of it instead of wasting their money trying to get a new one.
Does America even still make box fans, with Lakewood gone down the drain, taking the P-25 with it?

@vacuumlover1: I think you mean, "It's a China-made garbage!"

@baul104 thats great. Why fans? Why? What do FAAANS accomplish? Atleast with vacuums you get results and satisfaction. :l

I have my own video of one of these now. Check it out. I tell everyone on this video my thoughts of these fans. And you're right. They are junk.

These honestly are good fans. Ususually when one breaks is becuase it gets knocked over.
MSNIMSM 2 years ago
The brace-bladed ones however are not good because of its poor air quality; plus, they break easily because of its lightweightness and poor motor.

That cheap brace-bladed Lakewood is so thin it can barley stand up on its own! The only good modern Lakewood fan is the P-25.
kagome122885 2 years ago
Yep, the Lakewood P-25 is one of the last current vintage box fan models ever to be manufactured here in America.

and thanks to walmart lakewood is out of bussness for good so good by p25 glad i got 4 of them life time supply:)
itscool1968 2 years ago
@kagome122885 and the only good modern day brand is Vornado. Their premium models are still made in USA.

Even the Lakewood box fan model 200i was a better fan than todays fans. The 200i has the white bannana style blades.

Agreed with you, my man, agreed with you.
baul104 2 years ago
Those are OK, but not great.
I agree, the older ones are beter.
MSNIMSM 2 years ago
Yeah, they're alright--in a mediocre way, but the older, American-made vintage ones are TRULY the best!
