They're good players, but don't sound like my American Standards.

@1212Adnan Tough question.....I really dig the Highway One., because of the look of the finish, and it's playability. You could say these are two totally different playing guitars, because the Classic Player has the lacquered neck and finger board. The classic player is brighter than the Highway One.

@andythrash The arm threads into place so there should be no problem making the arm stop moving. If that does not work place a tiny spring about a 1/4" long (you can use one from a pen and cut it to size if needed) dip the spring in a little Vaseline and stick it in the trem arm hole, then screw the arm in, the spring should create enough tension to keep the arm from swinging.
Dude: use youre thumb to fret the low e string and it will make that easier to play and you will be able to accent notes that you cant accent without your thumb....

@wailed72 highway 1, It is soooooo durable. And I'm not sure if they still do this but they put texas special pickups in the one I bought, but that was a while ago (makes it sound delicious). I own a fender butterscotch tele deluxe ash and believe it or not, I still play my highway 1 at gigs thats how amazing it is! I do recommend you purchase one with a humbucker at the bridge, makes it that more versatile!!

I LOVE the Highway 1 Stratocaster HSS!!! I own 7 of them (and 1 F.S.R.) in ALL the available colors of the series!!
I do, however have issues with the stock pickups.....they flat out SUCK!!
I dumped the pickups in all 7 of mine, put in QUALITY pickups by Gibson and DiMarzio. and NOW they're all awesome guitars!!
I've played 'off the shelf' Fender Custom Shop guitars that can't touch these babies!!
These guitars are really well built; it's just that the stock pickups bite ass!!!

his foot in his mouth. SuperDJspawn the Alnico III pick ups
in the highway one sss strat are in the top ten best pick ups
fender has made since 1954 and they are rated by many pro
guitarist to be one of the most tone versatile pick ups made.
they are also fender customshop designed. i suggest you do
your homework on this brilliant guitar befor you open your mouth.
there are plenty other sites out there that back up what i said!

any case for $1,130 and your cost was $900 to $930 then fender
droped there prices on most of there strats. the highway one sss strat
the (2007 models) are highly sought after there tone versatility/feel and
more. the daphne blue highway one sss strat was discontinued back in
january 2008. if you could even find one today? you will pay up to $1,400
bottom line the 2007 highway one strats are superior over the american
stand.
