just because you watch anime doesnt make you a sword master, nip loving faggots, its a demo, you think a real sword master is going to demo an 80$ sword for a youtube audience? Also, there's a reason why people dont fight with swords anymore, they're called guns, its much easier to kill people I guaruntee
All the keyboard warriors here talking shit about the guy's form obviously can't tell that it's a demo on the sword's cutting ability, not the person's technique. If this is the youth of our nations, oh, God, we're fuct.
YAH BUT HE PROBADLY DOSENT CARE OF THE STANCE OR ART OF HOW SAMURAI USE KATANA....some ppl just buy it for the koolness of it not for the actual martial art and skill development of it
would this be comparable to the Musashi - 1060 Carbon Steel - Bamboo Warrior Sword? because i'm either thinking of getting this from your site or the 1060 from true swords both are priced the same.
hi i am curious. and you can check out my acct to see why. i have many carbon steel swords and all cut water jugs but when i go to the tameshigeri and cutting tatami mats. it is a different story. some i have cut water bottles but a mat is impossible and not because of bad technique. how does this sword do in real tameshigeri. cause i gave my friend a cheap survival knife and he cut water jugs with it easy. just curious. not slandering just curious
Hi Sesshoumaru17! All sword blades, functional or not will rust if you do not take care of the blade. If you cut something, always wipe it down. To keep any blade in good condition, there is a special oil called Choji oil. If you do not have any of this oil, you could use WD40 too, but Japanese oil is alway better (Choji). You would also need a cotton cloth to apply the oil.
that would be correct. Also to the guy who tried to cut bottles did you put water in them? If you try to cut empty bottles you will fail, also some of it is technique, although im not trained i do have lots of practice trying to cut things with swords.
Also eBay is full of people who sell you stuff and they are done with you. We stand by our products and have a 30 day return policy.
K awesome. That was the reason why I picked this replica over the others out there. It's made like an authentic katana. Now get your butt to your store and send me the sword I bought! =D
High Carbon steel swords have better edge holding abilities, look around at all of the expensive swords such as Paul Chen Hanwei line or cold steel you will clearly see that they are made of high carbon. ive cut bamboo with these without sustaining any damage to the blade
well, it's been pointed out before that he's got no samurai swordskills what so ever, one can clearly see that he's holding the sword wrong, either you practice iaido, kendo, kenjutsu, aikido, ninjutsu or whatever... but he says it's "high carbonsteel"... well, as far as i know, the real samurai sword used a steel with less carbon. More carbon makes the blade brittle! If I would buy a sword like this, can you garantee that it will not break if I cut bamboo with it?
Our point of this video was not to show off his awesome samurai skills, as he clearly has none. It was to show that these days you can get a decent capable katana at a low price. Yes it's made in China. Even P.Chen swords are made there. Try doing the cutting he did with a cheaper 440 stainless sword. You will be disappointed if not injure yourself. This sword is capable of cutting bamboo. Try 1 out, if you do not like it, send it back, and we will refund the price of the sword.
Too bad you're holding the sword completely wrong xD!!!
His sword maybe sharp yeah, but for $60, you'd be better off grabbing a branch of a tree and trying to cut bottles with that. He obviously paid a lot more then $60 for that sword, otherwise everyone would have one.
just try to improve your stance, and your swing, take kenjutsu lessons in kendo or something, and get appropriate clothes for weilding a katana. The left hand NEVER goes on top and the left hand is used for power on the bottom to pull.
Im not too sure about him.... he looks a bit like he's swinging a golf club rather than a baseball bat... but hey, we all have to start as newbies:) the bad thing is, I somehow doubt he has any wish to improve under someone's tutorship. I do not believe him to be seriously committed to improvement
Do you know anything about swords or cooking? The light plastic bends. Its more impressive that it can cut through plastic than a tree branch. Wood cuts easily. Its like a chef knowing his knife is sharp because he's able to slice easily through a ripe tomato.
We should just be glad these aren't stainless steel wallhangers. At least they are carbon steel. They still may bend, but they won't shatter and kill some poor anime warrior wannabe.
Just to reiterate, don't cut things unless you have been given proper instruction. People have and do die doing so.
however, hes showing the swords capability, i do not like the video, how hes cutting a simple bottle that i could cut with a butterfly knife xD, im sure you have heard this "Respect, Honor" if you are the greatest, quickest samurai, but show disrespect to others in a hateful way, you are barley considered a samurai
Ok, the swords cut well, and it does look as though the fella is swinging a golf club, but come on, the little 'kung fu' noises on cut 1 and 2 are histerical!
The people giving you crap about this pretty much have no idea what they are talking about...and are attempted to be seen as Sword Experts when they have no clue.
I've been considering a hanzo sword for some time now..But..I really prefer swords with some type of story or historical background to them. Although i was rather impressed. I think i might take a look at them.
I hear you. The same "experts" who repeat verbatim stuff they've read off wikipedia. Just because I know a lot about swords doesn't give me licence to abuse people and give supposed advice on form and technique.
I don't get it, if this is a high carbon, fully functional sword, how can these guys sell it for $79.00? Most sites I've been to have their fully functional swords for hundreds of dollars.
It worries me to see something like this since you are untrained. Even teachers with years of experience have accidents so for people with no experience swinging a sword around is frightening. Aside from the sharp sword you can do quite a number on your body with incorrect handling. BTW, no matter if you're a left or a righty the left hand is ALWAYS to hold the bottom most portion of the hilt and the right hand is by the tsuba (hand gaurd). Keep safe.
That's right. If you are left handed, placing your left hand at the bottom of the Tsuka will give you an advantage as the right acts as a pivot point while the left is what actually moves the sword through a cut.
Thanks. Admittedly im not trained with any sword fighting skills however with a sword this sharp i didnt have to be. My baseball swing came in quite handy.
