Don't take this the wrong way, but when someone talks over something I'm trying to enjoy, I chase them out of the room. With all due respect, I couldn't care less about your commentary; I care about the intense, inconceivable talent produced, it's the most incredible thing I've ever experienced.
@BondoFox You know, rather than telling the creator of the concept that you don't wanna hear what he's talking about, you could click on the video that *doesn't* say "commentary" after it...just an idea.
Of the animations you could have chosen to put on YouTube with the commentary, why not "Pogo Sticks", where you talk about Pixar and character animation. Or "Drum Machine", where you talk about the plausibility of such a structure existing? Or "Harmonic Voltage" where you make your Radioactive Grape Juice comment? Or "Fiber Bundles", which you say was inspired by Ratchet & Clank? Or "Gyro Drums", where Andrew Lytle talks about the electric drums lighting up? (Translation:you should buy the DVD!)
What often seems to be forgotten when people "watch" Animusic, is that there is some very good music at the base of it all. This is a piece of music I could listen to, even without the beautiful pictures.
I always loved the ones that were mostly Electric and non-fictional and lasers and stuff XD
I mean... the music is awesome, without the music the animation wouldnt be as cool and without the animation the music wouldnt be as cool, but the combination is what I think allot of us really want
I wish i had one of these! It is the most incredible insturment I've ever seen. This piece offers not only relaxation, but it goes through a whole range of moods, all the while maintaining a surreal, abstract feel to the beautiful, eerie world it's in. i find it very interesting that they first made the insturment, then designed the piece for it. Wonderful!! :)
What I had in mind is sort of a music box thing. When it was finished, it would be popular at some Museum for Science and Industry. I'm sure the boxes and necks could be made by guitar and violin makers. The engineering for the controls may be difficult. Even tho a computer could send the moves to the mechanics for the scripted songs, there would have to be a plethora of cables, gears, sprockets, bearings, motors and gadgets.
Good science project for some genius types with CNN :-)
I adore this piece! This is my favorite on the 2nd DVD. Favorite on the first is Aqua Harp. As fun as the lasers are, those two pieces are just nice and relaxing, surreal and fun. But lasers are still cool too!
I was thinking of that me too. I just wonder. If you find it transcribed give me a call. I might actually do it myself, We'll see... It would need to be at least a duet though to really come out.
Bravo

I get a very D'ni/Myst feel from this thing.
And at the same time, a Telvanni from Morrowind feeling.

Any thoughts on how this would sound on a piano? I mean sure you can't play every part but it would sound really interesting... anybody agree?

the commentary is very interesting.
I liked the Idea of a different time a day on each window but I think you did good in the end.

This is my favourite Animusic piece, it's so beautiful. The commentary was really interesting - thanks for posting :D

It's a great song! The commentary is very interesting, how you had the instrument already and then had to figure out music for it.
