  • where could i get one

  • Where do u get these?

  • Coolest siren ever imo

  • how do u hook them up like that

  • where you buy the siren?

  • what the fuck was the point?

  • @afnrdernecwh I wouldn't be talkin you don't have any videos.

  • when police officers pull someone over, or are in a chase... is there a certain siren they have to use? plz respond

  • @MrKillerthekid

The different tones are effective under different circumstances.. Wail travels a farther distance compared to yelp or piercer, so you would use it traveling down the interstate, etc. Yelp and piercer are more like approach tones for intersections because the rapid changes in the wavelength of the tones draw more attention from vehicles in close proximity, and those approaching from the side. Next time you hear one think about it from that aspect and it will make sense.

  • where can i get one of these?

  • Is it legal on your bike?

  • tis siren is legal intallation in my friend car in puerto rico

  • Hi again i am just ondering does it matter what type of car battery it has to be like a 12 Volt or a 24 V battery to power the unit please ?

  • @joedwardd Regular 12V volt batteries will do just well if you have a few lighting as well.

  • where do u get them?

  • well its not illegal for me.

  • Actually owning and installing one on a civilian car is legal in the U.S. In fact you can go as far as giving your car the classic black & white paint job (WITHOUT any enforcement markings like “LAPD”…) and accessorized with a fully functional light-bar on the top. And there is nothing that the law enforcement can do about it.

You break the law (by impersonating a police officer) when you turn on the lights and/or siren on public property (I.E. the road/street).

  • @LordNova2 Im not trying to be a dick dude but if this were the case alot of security companys would be in deep trouble, you CAN have the equipment as long as its not functioning on the roadway. if its in a private road/area yes you can have them and operate them. just the same goes with pilot cars, you may have a yellow lightbar or reds and blues if you have the proper permits. if you wanted to place a digital air horn you could as long as it was under the state regulated DB level. cont..

  • @LordNova2 cont.. as of now i could go purchase a fully loaded CVPI off ebay complete with decals/sirens/lights and as long as i placed a marker stating "NOT IN SERVICE" i could drive it and run it but couldnt use the sirens/lights. in short summary, siren yes you can own one, but no you cannot operate it on a roadway, that would be a felony impersonation. as to why a person would do that is beyond me, and for the record i think non Fire EMS or Police shouldnt be allowed to own one or even buy.

  • @wheelman1991

Isn't that what is basically what I was saying?

Air-horns are a bit different than light-bars and sirens though. By DOT regulations, they are mostly limited too trains, commercial vehicles and emergency vehicles. They are flat out a FEDERAL no-no to be functional (as in hooked up and able to work at a flip of a switch) in/on your car on public property. As long as they are non-functional (not hooked up to air/power) you can strap them on your car to look cool.

  • @LordNova2 in a basic wrap up, you cannot have a siren, but a digital air horn that was not over a state regulated DB yes you can. as far as the lightbar, knock yourself out but god help you if you get caught using it red and blue on public roads or property.

  • My dad has the same one in his car.

  • How much does one cost? I'm thinking of getting our new fire chief one as a christmas present.

  • NOOOOOOOOT FOR SALEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just picked up some of these at auction, would you mind if I used your video to try & sell em?

  • at everyone whos asking about the sirens... Im a vollie, and were allowed to have sirens and lights. if the LEOs catch you fucking around with it, they`ll take away all your certs. like Fire II and Emt Basic. so um yeah... dont blow red lights to get a blow job.

  • this is the ftworth plice dept siren im pretty sure

  • if u buy a police siren ur waisting over 200 bucks. theres no point in using it. if u do and get caught using it on public road u can get charged by imnpersinating a police officer. thts probably a felony

  • cn i buy it?

  • how much would you sell this for i am very intrested in buying it.

  • i want it for my car no more traffic in rush hour

  • can u be cherge with impersanatin a police officer or would it just be a fine/ticket

  • did u steel dat?

  • To this day, the Pier siren mode reminds me of 9/11

  • @ElTantaran86 Are you sure you are not thinking of the PASS alarm of a firefighter's SCBA? That is all that was heard there for days after the collapse.

  • wow

  • mira lo que pasa es que en la cruz roja de tamuin san luis potosi tenemos en dos ambulancias de ese marca pero lo que pasa es que se oye diferente que como la que tienes en el video ¿a que se debe?

  • dude. where can u get that

  • this just made my dog flip out

  • did you make this yourself or did you buy it?

  • I got this siren at a fire show a few months back and i love it,but im getting a whelen with mechanical tone next month.great vid

  • where did u get that and how much for the speaker

  • where did you buy it how much was it

  • were u get that siren box ??

  • how much

  • @SKIT5O Not for sale, sorry man.

  • @dmitry103 can i buy it? $100,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,000

  • @SKIT5O yea

  • @cheesemanwithac , to turn off HF, simply double tap the man button, or the horn ring circuit.

  • i think there is a misconception when ppl say "you can't have them" when really what they mean to stress is that you can't operate them. You can always say your doing a movie and or used for entertainment reasons. I only think they are illegal to OPERATE and not to have. Correct me if im wrong but it makes sense.

  • @hornetsfanjc It would certainly be illegal to put on a car and set off on the road. But other than that as long as you don't piss off your neighbors I don't think that it really matters.

  • I'm looking at buying a remote siren. I would prefer Whelen, but not objected to Code 3. Under what category would I find a siren on Ebay or Craiglists?

  • my fd has this siren and a "Q" siren on each engine.

  • Comment removed

  • so would it be illegal for a kid to have one on there bike???????????????

  • watches video.......

    .......

    TO AUTO ZONE!!!!

  • where gt sell this thing?? pls tell me

  • well one thing for sure if i had one it would be private and not in my f-150 i collect madels and die cast it would be just fun to listen to

  • Anyone asking where to get one, most likely shouldn't be owning one...

  • @squigee62090 i agree 100 percent. all volunteer/ part time firefighters know where or how to get a siren and lights for there POV or response vehicle. plain and simple.

  • @squigee62090 whelens website sells them to anyone!

  • @squigee62090 I agree

  • wow class combination

  • Hey im a firefighter and first responder in georgia i already have red and white lights all over my truck i have been lookin for a siren on galls but i was jw if you know anywhere i can get a good 1 for less then galls? they are way high on galls.

  • @117Firefighter where in georgia do you live because there is a good place in savannah called west chatham warning devices that sells em cheap

  • hey man whre u buy that i need some one

  • Yer cool lui

  • where shall i get one of those at??

  • @mfnford ebay.

  • ebay is full of em, so is craigslist sometimes

  • we got fed sig smart siren in are pd units. and the whelens in the ambulances

  • That is what we have in are ambulance, it dose an awesome job.

  • I live in Aruba, and would like to have one. where can i buy that one??

  • for sale? or do you know were i could get one cheap?

  • ebay

  • what kind of siren do you attach that thing to?????

  • Please be careful dont get caught for impersonating a police officer. If you are an officer with a volunteer fire dept. than you may have one, just please check with local and state laws first. i am gettng one just so people dont cut me off.

  • yo sell me on man

  • how does it hook up to the speaker?

  • i have 1 of these in my car

works great on when asswipes cut u off

and ur an off duty :)

  • Yes, it is illegal.

Simply because the law can not see a reason for civilians to have them in their cars

If there is a good reason for you to have them, then you may be able to have an official permission document made.

  • @peuterschmidt no your wrong, you can have it on a car as long as your dont use it on public land, if you are on private property you allowed to have it on

  • yes, obviously i was talking about the more common situation of the car being on a public road.

It is not the most ilegal thing to have in your car, but if the police stop you and you have one, the can take it away.

  • not if your not useing it.

  • yes, if you have one in the car, they can take it off you. Because as I said, the law does not see a reason for you to have one.

It is not mandatory that the police officer takes it, he can use his discretion

  • obviously, it is different in other countries.

  • im sure they wont take it. hide it,

  • I don't see the point of having one, just to screw around, immature. In case you get stopped by LEO and siren's in plain view, enjoy a hefty fine.

On the subject of private property, if siren noise bothers your neighbors, siren will be confiscated since you have no permit to operate it to begin with.

  • Immature, yes. Fine for having one? No. Confiscated? Again no. Noise ordinance violation? Yes that is what you get hit with in most municipalities.

Please note laws/penal codes and ordinances vary on things like this from town to town and state to state.

  • @dmitry103 you can own it and keep it in your house, no law saying you cannot

  • @peuterschmidt its not illegal to have them installed in your car but if you use it its illegal. honestly the only reason id would get one on my truck is for offroad use obviously a horn isnt going to reach high db's like a siren, no matter what horn you have, i have a train horn and yet the low frequency doesnt reach as far as fast as a high frequency siren would, thats the only reason i would own one, if my trucks stuck just hit the siren

  • You see the part at the bottom "1 year ago"

Believe it or not, it has been a year since I posted it, and you still reply.

Lastly, You may have a higher pitch siren for the reason you explained.

But it is illegal for you to have a police siren.

  • You see the part at the bottom "1 year ago"

Lastly, You may have a higher pitch siren for the reason you explained.

But it is illegal for you to have a police siren.

and even more lastly, im going to block you, because, again, it's been a year, I'm done with this subject.

  • @peuterschmidt no they aren't "illegal" they are only illegal if you use them on the road (public road) anyone can buy them with or without a permit..but like you said they ARE illegal to use on the road/h-way unless you are going to a fire or possibly a med emergency or you're a peace officer on his/her way to a call

  • @ishredu Its been a year, go fuck yourself

  • @peuterschmidt na I'd rather you go fuck your mother, you're a little moron. can't even respond respectfully..typical asshole kid

  • @peuterschmidt this also applies to red/blue (in ct) blue blue in georgia etc..you can HAVE THEM but you just can't use them on the public roadways, anyone who tells you differently doesn't understand the law

  • haha thats awesome, where did you get it?

  • is this illegal to have on a regular civilian car?

  • Short anwser.. NO as long as you are not using it to impersonate a Police or government vehicle

  • Yes unless you're using it on a private road

  • Hmm no... If you not use it. And i guess if its not connected its legal.

  • Absolutely it is. Fire & EMS officers allowed. Some of the states permit volunteer firefighters equip their POVs with one. Other than that, doesn't worth a hassle.

  • Comment removed

  • @dmitry103 - In most states, you can actually have sirens, lights, and other things (except decals) and legally have them. Bu the moment you turn them on they are considered illegal.

  • @dmitry103 i might sound dumb for this wuestion but what is the full meaining of POV? im from europe so its a new expresion for me

  • @collin341 personal owned car.

  • @jayjayevy Don't think it is illegal to have it on your car, just illegal to use it on public roadways. Anyone can buy a siren.

  • @jayjayevy actually, theyre perfectly legal to buy, install and drive around with, but if you use them on public roads or to impersonate an officer or emergency vehicle, then your probably going to end up with jail time or a minimum fine of I think 5000 USD.

  • @jayjayevy Its not illegal to have one in your car. It would be pointless though because all you can legally use is the PA, radio repeat, and air horn. All the other tones are not legal to use on public roads, but you can drive your neighbors nuts by blairing it in your driveway, or off road.

  • we have those on our ambos pefect 4 a budget awsome soundin i would love to get one 4 my pickup that is if theyll ever let me haha

  • were did you get that

  • 100 watt why dont they make it 1000 watt that way no one can say they didnt hear it

  • Whelen makes the best sirens. I love the way the manual mode siren makes a very sharp noise before the actual siren starts.

  • This is exactly the siren my city uses!!

  • nice im gettin that for my truck then dumbass people will movewhen im headed to the station for a call apparently reds dont do enough

  • Haha, dont worry, they still wont get out of your way. In Houston they dont even move for me when im running code in the engine!

  • haha i know it thatts why i hate people

  • does anybody know where I can buy a siren like this in Germany??

  • Darf ich auf de toilette gehin?

  • was willst du?

  • I LOVE this video. I know--I'm a dork. But it makes my old boy dog howl!! :)

  • Where did you buy the siren from and how much?

  • soon they will have an EM pules that you can send out to disable the car you are chasing.

    no more high speed Chase's

  • its extremely difficult to direct a beam of an emp.

  • I know, that's why I say in a few years..lol

think about this, dvd movies just came out 10 years ago in late 1999. now I am buying blu-ray

  • on the other hand. forget an EMP Pulse

"on star" can stop and start a car from a satellite today.

so we are already doing this to cars. geez

  • lol i can jsut imagine a pain in the butt cop hiding and disablinlign raandom cars

  • this technology will have to be highly close guarded so just anyone can't use it and be monited.

then again, hackers shut down Microsoft

    for 3 days.

on the other hand. forget an EMP Pulse "on star" can stop and start a car from a satellite today.

so we are already doing this to cars. geez

  • i couldn;t have said it myself better ^^

  • Gives me awesome ideas for pranks lol

  • how much does tis siren cost

  • $209 all the way to like $300

  • so cool can i get on?

  • I thought about buying that one online.

  • nice siren....simple but has everything u need...tone and operation wise..

  • Nice vid man.

  • what type of horn/speaker do you recommend for whelen?

  • I've been a fan of the SA40 (Edge speaker) for years, even to use in other applications, the tone just ripps out of that one. Otherwise the SA314 is a great speaker as well.

  • i like my snsa2 better lol

  • i have a queation about sirens...what determins the sound of the siren "like type of sounds" the speaker has nothing to do with the "types" right?

  • It all depends on what siren controller is used. Speaker simply turns electric impulses into sound waves.

  • very nice!

  • the sirennet snsa2 is in teh mail and will be at my house tuesday. :D cant wait to make my vid of it. :)

  • I guess they had no prob giving you snsa2 instead?

  • i had to pay an extra 25 for it, but thats no biggie.

  • SNSA2 has whelen-like look, which I like. Congrats

  • thats the only reason i bought it. it sounds like a whelen too. i want this model that ur vid is on, but the sirennet is so cheap i couldnt pass it up

  • hey, i got one like it off ebay, but with a more compact control. at first it was fitted to our go cart. but now its under the hood of our suv. tis great lol.

  • more compact control....295HFSA1 maybe? if not what model?

  • theyre pretty cheap, price wise.... simple and easy to use i like it

  • Where can i buy it?

  • right now i believe eBay has one for around 50 bucks, not including shipping or the microphone/ speaker either. still worth it to me....

  • yeah, this model might worth up to $100 these days, lol.

  • How much was this siren, and where can i find it

  • where can i get 1

  • HOW MUCH !!!!

  • where did u get it? please tell me

  • awesome siren we have the same 1 in our pumper

  • I like the siren at 46 second with q siren and air horn all at the same time

  • very good

  • Comment removed

  • Remove 4 torx screws located in each corner of front panel, take bezel off; then remove the casing and either cut or unsolder wires coming from mic. In some cases you might be able to simply remove wire connectors from the circuit board.

  • how much it costs?

  • nice one

  • the air horn with piercer is perfect

  • great vid! now lets say if i were to buy one of these, and since i dont wanna piss my parents or neighbors off...is there a way those things can be hooked up to say a stereo or like iPod speakers? so it aint as loud???? thanks

  • does this come with a microphone?

  • Yes.

  • were and how much are these things?????

  • were and how much are these things?

  • Comment removed

  • Does this model need to powered by a 24 volt system?

  • 12 Volt

  • Because on the control box of mine it says 24 volt so I am hoping that this just means it can work with this too?? any thoughts?

    thanks for your input

  • Most of these set for 12.8VDC +/-20%, in your case it would be 24VDC.

  • Crap that sucks. Well I guess this system is useless in a normal 12V battery system then. I was hoping to install it in my pickup.

    thanks again

  • what model is this??...Sounds AWESOME!

  • sorry that was a stupid question...it's in the title lol...Thanks! Sounds GR8!

  • ive heard manual mode too many times when I drive.... lol
