In the '70s, the Soviet Union considered disco subversive. Why doesn't Tony get a job at a factory instead of a hardware store? In the US in the '70s, factory jobs payed well and you could keep that job your whole working life and maintain a decent standard of living. Not like today where you can have a Bachelor's Degree and still not do better than $10 an hour (if that).

One thing I always thought about this film, is that Tony is actually an ass hole, hes horrible to his boss and friends, with no respect to women, hes actually a spoilt brat and lets not forget he tried to rape Steph.
