  • To the guys at Sigler~ I know you must be able to do a better demo than this. I am sorry to be so direct, so I'm going to hold back a little on my review of your demo; I own the 2006 year model of this 2077LX, and your video is an embarassment.

I don't know if you have something against Ovation, but please, please, either remove this video or put a better one out there, you are killing my sale! This guitar deserves a much more robust review. If I were a good enough player, I'd post it myself.

  • play cleaner not only fast

  • ovation is NOT a fingerpicking guitar, dude play it normal !

  • @IrishDaddi I have played fingerstyle for 34 years and I LOVE Ovations. I own 4.

  • I love Ovations, and have 2 of them. Unfortunately for me, though, the necks are too narrow at the nut for me to play them comfortably. That information needs to be passed on to Kaman so they will make some of their guitars with a bit wider nut, perhaps 1/8 inch wider.

  • That sounds like dick in a bucket

  • Ovation makes "great guitars", and the price range is far "less" than their competitors. People who post the opposite, do not know what they are talking about. Kaman music is a great company to deal with. Another plus with these guitars, is they handle humidity better, and can be tuned to lower D and C tunings "without" string buzz. The issue with the video, is the strings on the neck are "too high", that is why the solo that the man is playing, sounds "choppy". Needs to adjust the truss rod.

  • 0:22 ooooooooh

  • показал, как не надо играть,

  • what chords was he playing? :O

  • @naruto1022

take your low E Major chord and just move that position up on fret

  • what kind of strings are those in applause i have an ae 128 acaustic/electric guitar n i need to know what types of strings because the strings are amazing plzz responnddd :) thank you

  • Would an eletric guitar capo be suitable for an Ovation Celebrity neck? I have a G7th acoustic capo but it doesn't completely press down on the frets.

  • @Quakelord1991

    It should work

  • i could use that preamp on my zeta electric violin...

  • I own an ovation. I personally don`t like the strings, I find them hard to press down compared to my martin acoustic.

  • @MistyLove7 then switch the strings or change the action (how far away the strings are from the frets), someone locally should be able to do this for you. =]

  • Ohh! I did change the strings, still no change. Now that you mention that, the guy who I talked did say that I should change the action.

Would it be lower, or higher(what would cause it to be harder to press down on?)

  • @MistyLove7 there are 2 shims under the bridge, I dropped mine down 1 the last time I changed the strings, I should've dropped it 2.

  • Did you drop it because it was harder to fret? And did dropping it help afterward?

Also, how much did it cost?

Lol, sorry for the many questions! :p

  • then replace the strings.

  • @jess111rocks Thats what many guitarists dont check: playing lighter strings (I use 9ers) can do miracles :-))

  • @MistyLove7 how long have you been playing? if you haven't been playing that long (fingers hurt) maybe try using lighter gauge strings, like ultra lights...

  • @R1ronin

I have been playing for the past seven or eight years. I believe that it is due to the action. And yes, the strings are heavy gauge strings. If anything the uncomfort is probably from a history of prolonged guitar playing without needed breaks..lol.

Or my job. I do lug around heavy objects, and I am a girl..I shouldn`t be doing it, its mans work! haha.

  • @MistyLove7

If your fingers hurt too much, change to a smaller gauge, or lower the action.

Or try to play more, so your fingers get used to it.

  • @kareljuwet

I changed it to a smaller gauge and I lowered the action. It doesn`t cause any pain anymore!

haha, if anything the pain was from "to much playing"

    Guitar is my drug <3<3

  • Comment removed

  • i want one so bad =[

  • he sucked playing the higher notes. hes just couldnt get them clean

  • you would be a great electric guitar player

  • um dia eu compro um desse!!!

  • eu quero um desse!!!!

  • I want one.

  • I am going to put mine up for sale...soon.

Probably ebay it...around $1100<..it will be a good deal for a whomever buys it. Pristine...15 mos old

  • Phrygian major 3rd!

  • OOOOhhhh! I LOVE THOSE SPANISH RIFFS! I really love Ovations. I have a few. ;)

  • its flamenco.. look for Paco de Lucia..maybe the greatest flamenco´s guitar in all the times..

He comes from my town.. :)

  • What's the difference between this guitar and the Al di Meola model?

  • Ovation IS GOOD Guitar

  • This gay plays slappy, lots of tones that are not so clear.

  • u´re been kind.....very very sloppy playing, Ovation guitars are excelent

  • he was doing that on purpose smart one

  • @KernelLinux1979 How do you know he's gay?

  • You know they are nice guitars. I like the martins more though.

  • nice sounds i have ovation 1717 legend it was given to me by good friend... rne

  • So these can be played as acoustic AND electric? I'm new to guitar so if anyone can answer my question, please.

  • Yes, they can be played acoustically

  • Thank you.

  • I hate the plastic back of it, this is actually less curvy then earlier models so maybe it is better, but earlier models are cunt to play cause of this shell back.

  • That's because he uses a fucked pick.

  • Both DnMZen and ZoX need to give the latest Ovations with the scallopped LX cross bracing a play themselves, I found that it has made a huge difference, they sound much more 'natural', I was not a fan previously, now I've bought one, I was so tipped over by its tone. Mine is a multi soundhole Elite Special J1778 Ltd. only available in UK. It sounds great acoustically, plugged in it depends on the amp, but can sound equally natural!

  • Very true. The features that they added when the LX series came to be really made a dramatic difference in the overall tone. It's tough to get a good sound on a YouTube video, but we tried to demonstrate some of thea features. The best thing to do is get one in your hands and try it!

    Thanks for the comments,

  • @smallmercy 'natural', hell its Fiber glass, you plug it in to a amp. It will never sound 'natural', Sounds like it is. Junk!!! MMM real advance Ovation is using Scalloped Bracing that has been out for many years. It isn't going to help. Ovation will always sound like shit.

  • good guitars, but i cannot stand the sound of piezo pickups or anything that sounds like this reminds me of a duck quacking.

taylors seem to be the only acoustic-electrics that come with a pickup system that sounds natural. of course you can buy pickups etc but you know what i mean.

  • taylor beats this guitar by miles

  • Taylor players always say that.

  • i have that ovation in a 12 string

  • Great video. I own two Ovations and am looking for a new one. Great demonstration.

  • you should probably give me one of those older ones for free or something lol
