Sounds to me that just as you said to make contact with a UFO you simply need to intend to but not try or strive for the contact: the way to control a dream is to #1 - realize its a dream and then #2 - do not try or strive to control it but to simply intend to and know for a fact that you can. Furthermore, that what we perceive to be physical reality works exactly the same way. I like the way you phrased all of this. I enjoy knowing alternate perspectives. :)
