They didn't force her to do that stuff. She requested to have more control over her album and helped co-write many of the songs and pushed for the RnB sound on her album. That is why it didn't come out until the end of January 2007, it was scheduled to drop the beginning of November 2006, but they pushed the date back so Katharine could have more creative choices on her debut album.

I heard about this and was excited but when i head her album i was DISAPPOINTED to the MAX. This type of adult contemporary stuff is her niche and its where she should stay. I get upset because I have so much faith in her ability I think she could be among the greats of this generation if she would realize that this type of stuff is the money for her. She is in the same league with Celine Josh Groban Michael Buble..... she just needs good material. Insert David Foster.

She had songs like Ordinary World, Home, and Better Off alone on her first album. She had something for everyone, and that's what was great about it! Not all her fans want an album full of IWBTWYs...Neglected is her best ballad anyway. <3

Agreed. She has beautiful voice, but it doesn't sound right when she tries to do the dance and faux r&b stuff. I cringe whenever I hear "Do What You Do" because it sounds like she's trying to sound like Ciara, Rihanna or whoever's hot at the moment. Katharine -- you don't have to! I totally agree with you! BUT, the sad fact is, who's buying this? Merely, a few people recognize and love pure talent. Other than that, they prefer the garbage that is commercially sold, and generally loved. However, there are exceptions. Like Celine, etc..
