  • man. thats deep.

  • wish christians would learn more from the sayings instead of only concern about their guns and second admendent rights

  • man... um how on earth did i stumble across this... anyway i've gotta watch this movie/tv show or wotever it is now.

  • Love these clips - thanks for posting

  • Knowledge will give you power, but character respect.

    Bruce Lee

  • This remains me a Nietzche Book, Beyond Good and Evil. Now I understand why he considers Budhism as a more honest religion.

  • @nalcow Thank you. I didn't know Nietzche had that opinion.

  • @yinyangnature

As far as I understood Nietzsche's philosophy or Schopenhauer's for that matter, I find them both having much similarities with Taoism, Buddhism and Zen. It's like a Western version of Eastern philosophy in a way.

  • @nalcow He studied morality and ethics profoundly. He says it makes no sense to discard any horizon just because sometihng is good or bad, He critizes how moral values are oriented either toward good or evil as it only deflates people's happiness and distorts reality. He gives as example a child who is able to play joyfully and without question himself. He plays not because it is good but just because it is the role of a child to play joyfully.

  • i disagree with this teaching sometimes evil people must be destroyed such as murderers, pedophiles, and rapists these people must not be shown any sort of kindness whatsoever.

  • @doctorw2 I understand your frustration, but isn't this what we have been doing 4000 years? Yet this has never prevented more of the same. Maybe we have been going about preventing crime the wrong way? No doubt severe punishment is the easiest way, but is it really the best way? Maybe we need to look at this whole problem in a completely different way? Maybe it's our fragmented society that creates these behaviours and so no matter how many people we jail, these crimes will simply continue.

  • @yinyangnature the only way to stop these crimes is by showing that evil will not be tolerated and by showing zero tolerance for it, there are some countries that have extremely tough penalties for certain crimes and as a result they have very low crime rates. the problem with the western countries lies in the fact that their way of life is self centered too much emphasis is placed on individual needs and desires resulting in a distorted view of reality much to the detriment of society.

  • @doctorw2 Do you blame a dog for biting if it was treated cruelly as a puppy? What is our ultimate goal, to prevent further victims of crime or is it simply to seek revenge? Revenge is merely a response to fear & usually only goes to create more crime and fear. The US has one of the biggest jail populations in the world and crime continues to escalate. Where as Sweden has one of the smallest jail populations & a low crime rate, because they identify the social conditions that cause crime.

  • @doctorw2 I have removed your last comment as it was highly derogatory towards a particular group of people. You are free to state your opinion, but please refrain from using hate speak on this channel.

  • @yinyangnature What do you think the US should do to reduce its crime rates? I'm interested in hearing your opinion. Some steal for survival and some do so because they feel as though there's no other option for them, even though there is always another option. The same can be said about killing. I don't quite understand how a government can identifiy with these lifestyles and actions.

  • @Mystrymeat Please put the words "Zeitgeist Addendum" into your search engine and watch the free two hour documentary movie. By the time the movie is over you will know the solution; although it will challenge all your believes and take a while for you to fully understand & accept. Unfortunately many aren't able to accept our society is based on a complete falsehood and therefore it comes as a bit of a shock. I hope you will join us in creating a better world for our kids, before it's all gone.

  • @yinyangnature Zeitgeist Addendum, eh? I'll give it a search sometime.

  • @yinyangnature Being that I'm of native heritage, since birth I've always been taught about how the current illusion of politics, economy, and status quo are all formed by imperialistic rulers. Therefore, the Zeitgeist ideals don't come as much of a shock to me. I owe you more than you can imagine, as your videos first exposed me to Taoist ideals. The Tao Te Ching's teachings don't seem like a new concept to me. Strangely, they seem more like an old friend I've been reunited with. Thank you.

  • @Mystrymeat Indeed. How stupid must mainstream Western civilisation be, to put what symbolises resources (money), beyond the very environment that sustains us. Yet this is the world in which we find ourselves. Your ancestors always knew this thinking was madness and many Westerners are now waking up to this for the first time. Your experiences of the Tao Te Ching seem very similar to those of mine. Thank you for your generous feedback my friend.

  • @yinyangnature No problem. I've been studying various holy books and scriptures lately to see what truth and/or falsehoods are contained within. The Qu'Ran has to be one of the most vile books I've ever read, but the Bible intrigues me. On one hand the Bible seems to be focused on murder, restrictive behavior, and a degree of sexism, but the rest seems almost Buddhistic. I often wonder if Jesus himself may have been influenced by Taoist philosophy, such as in verse 77 of the Gospel of Thomas.

  • @Mystrymeat There are many Taoist-like verses in the Bible, particularly Ecclesiastes Chapter 3. Personally I have always found the Abrahamic religions rather uninspiring when compared to Dharmic philosophy. But I was raised a Christian. Nevertheless, I respect all religious belief and all people. You may enjoy seeing the Youtube video called "The Charter of Compassion". I believe this group, lead by the Religious Historian Karen Armstrong, has a very important message for the entire world.

  • @yinyangnature I've always felt the same way. It's almost as if the Abrahamic religions try to make one feel ashamed for being human while the philosophies of the far east claim that it's perfectly natural. Thanks for the info I'll be sure to check them out.. May the Tao bring good things your way.

  • @doctorw2 Yes but the problem with this approach is that you drive your action by fear, that wont help you to be happy. That approach will only work if you deattach your fear which is pretty difficult in our culture. It is like if you were a soldier and you go to war for your country that is something valid, and it is more valid if you drive your actions without attachment.

  • @doctorw2 That's the same principle of martial arts, you dont use it as a weapon to destroy people just because they are evil, if you follow that path you will be miserable in your life. That does not mean that you wont defend yourself but in turn you follow the the natural flow of forces to defend yourself. If you attack you are being driven your action by a goal, and that does not takes you to any joyfull place. That's the essence of wuwei, the taoist concept of no-action.

  • thanks for upload... wow so powerful

  • I will check out The Venus Project. I've been meaning to anyway, so you've just given me a reason! Thank you Bobba!

  • Great! But please view Zeitgeist and The Venus Project with an open mind, since much of the information is initially very confronting and difficult to accept from the standpoint of ego.

  • Hi Bobba,

I would like to hear your point of view, because I respect it. Could you elaborate more on what Po means when he says..."is a man's universe only himself"...in regards to the scene?

  • Or...to me, he is he saying, that when we look at the unsavory behavior of others, we should realize that their actions are a result of their understanding. Is it a call to be compassionate?

  • Yes my friend. I believe Master Po is asking Caine to consider the situation from an infinite point of view and not just of himself.

Too often we see things only from the perspective of our own ego, forgetting everything is relative to the observer.

Yet with compassion we are able to see the Universe through the eyes of every other being and with this ability comes great wisdom.

    Namaste

    Bobba

  • OK...this is a very important, on going lesson I am learning. How do you, yourself, try to apply this when you look out in the world and hear of Murderers? Rapists? How does one balance compassion with a stance of stopping others of evil doing?

  • Rather than trying to prevent others from committing crime, it is wiser to determine the root cause of all crime.

Unfortunately, we live in a world that believes force and punishment is the only answer; without ever addressing the fundamental corruption of our society. I would advise you to investigate "The Venus Project".

I believe Jacque Fresco and Peter Joseph have found the root cause to world disharmony and have a very viable plan to overcome the world's current problems.

  • @yinyangnature I like this response very much :) i advise you to watch "The Zeitgeist Addendum" movie if this isn't already done !

    Peace

  • @WolffKiller I have watched the Zeitgeist movies many times my friend.

I actually met Jacque Fresco a few weeks ago. I bought him a coffee and we chatted for about 20 minutes.

  • @yinyangnature True that. Deterrence, although widely practiced, is statistically one of the least effective means of crime reduction as opposed to say...social control

  • @startagain47 Remember they are people first and as such part of your humanity (your connection to yourself and others). If you must take action to contain the suffering they create, do not allow your connection to them as a person falter. In this way you can strike down their harmful intent as opposed to striking them down (and along with them your own humanity). Fail in this, and your acts will cause further suffering. This capacity to rebuke with compassion is visible in all good parents.

  • @1uc3n7 That is very well-said. You have given me some information I can use on my spiritual walk. Thank you.

  • "The rat does not steal. The cat does not murder". Wonderful. Sin is in the eye of the beholder.

    "Get rid of morality.

    People will respect each other

    and do what's right."

  • i feel if don't like yourself you will abuse others. lying is a form of abuse.

  • I've been watching the vids you have posted for awhile now and just want to say that as a young person I watched this show and never got "it" but now I see how great the show is and continue to learn something everytime I watch....Thanks for posting ...much gratitude:)

  • Thank you! That is so great to hear my friend!

Maybe if we all had a Master Po to guide us through our youth the world would be a far more peaceful place?

  • @alonealotta: I could not have said that any better.

  • I have watched all your videos numerous times. Yet they always offer a refreshing perspective.

Thank you for posting these videos with your excellent commentry. They bring endless benefit.

  • Thank you very much. However, like all people, I often struggle in this world and occasionally lose my way on the Path. Fortunately, I have someone very special in my life who guides me with compassion and humility whenever Im lost. She is my Bodhisattva and the light of my life.

  • Is that bald kid Lundy from Dexter?

  • Yes

  • Excellent.

  • As Copernicus said "Nothing exists". Everything in this "world" is an illusion. We live in a molecular controlled universe that is actually not real. Just different configuration of molecules. That's why there is no murder. Suicide. Abortion. You can't destroy what never "really" existed. Just release. It would just be "transdimensional mutation".

  • @Devo13 Just remember, the next time you stub your toe, that nothing exists! ; )

  • himSELF? wat self?

  • It's merely the illusion of self my friend. Of course, all concepts of separateness are an illusion.

  • mmk

  • Thanks yingyangnature!!

  • thanks, yingyang nature, it's a great work, hope you will upload other "tao of kung fu"

  • Keye Luke who played master Po

told an interviewer that the cataract contact lens messed with his eyes so he had to drive his lincoln continental chrome mountain home while driving sideways

  • dont compare this to george bush .. he has no humility... this is the first step...his work is not for freedom. but for selfish things...the sun will shine on him too....have some discretion... it is ok to have anger... but use it in good ways

  • " it is ok to have anger" no its not, its eats away at you and causes suffering if you let people like bush make you angry, he causes futher damage to the world, if you are at peace you yourself you will be free from this and will have a positive effect on the world.

  • Proverbs 21:2

Every man's way is right in his own eyes,But the LORD weighs the hearts

  • George W. Bush needed to watch this in the summer of 2001.

  • Bush wouldn't have understood. His understanding of reality is too limited.

  • Indeed.

  • The lesson here is that neither the cat or the rat is evil....but only acting according to their understanding.

Likewise some who hurt us - do so because they know no other way. Keep the ability to respond with kindness, and this person may grow to another understanding, and may stop hurting others.

This is just a tv show, but still, a very good lesson

  • interesting lesson, similar to "turn the other cheek"

notice the master didn't absolutely rule out "punishing" someone, but more like informed Caine of a higher way to handle someone who hurts you

this was the method of Ghandi and MLK, in their cases, this way was very effective.

  • always wondered who that actor was ,now i know

  • truth is fake. wisdom is void.

yet there's a common "fake" called reality we are all attached to.

    the priest shoud forgive

    the judge should apply law

    but yet also opposite

for in every man there are both

  • Extremely profound my friend.

  • Could you explain why wisdom is void? Most humans adapt "reality" to what they themselves feel is right, so I understand why you say that truth is fake, but why wisdom is void I do not understand.

  • the wisest of men, know one thing....it is that they in fact, know nothing...."Who is the master that makes the grass green"? "You, are."....

  • I will try to use someone else's words:

"what are you talking about Buddha? (you could read God). Whatever you say is false"

I don't know even If I understand it or not. perhaps wisdom resides ther were we don't try to understand, but yet know.

Thank you for you question. It made me think. (I would better not do it!!)

    And I'm probably wrong.

Can words say anything at all?

I hope my words "thak you" tell you something I feel. The rest of them you can forget.

  • you know ists funny! but this is a basic

christian teaching, thats not practiced much anymore. i really apreciate these videos,

    very peacful,and wise.

  • That's why Christ is not God. Christ is just one with all as we are one with Christ. The Lost Teachings Of Christ sound more like Zen Buddhism than Constantine's Christianity. To be a true Christian is not to worship the cross but just to be one with him.

  • Catholics are the ones who got Christ the most wrong, because of there wicked and evil nature where they fullfill there ego's.

  • One thing I like about all this philosophy - what do I do? Is there a right answer? One person may need to be "punished" to change - another might need "kindness" to change. I'v had many philosphical talks with many different people - either they see all sides but can't choose (perhaps this, perhaps that), OR they pick a side and each side seems to have a point. So what's the point???

  • There are many layers to Truth and this is why life often gets so confusing. Most people are looking for a single Truth. Yet any revealed Truth maybe a complete falsehood at another level. For example, on the macro-level we are all distinct separate beings. But on the quantum level there isn't any separateness between anything.

I guess the point is that there really isn't any point; yet the birds make their annual migration any way. Now that really is the Truth!

  • Good and evil is a point of view, but "Is a man's Universe only made only of himself" is this saying that even if a evil act seems good to the man it has concerquences which cause suffering to others? and to be strong and over come evil you must not think about yourself, think about concerquences as they speak louder than words?. Or is this a truth but does it conflict with other truths as you said, how should i find peace and prevent suffering in my life when the anwsers are many and can differ

  • You find both truth and peace by practicing egoless compassion and egoless actions. With our egocentric desires removed, we are in harmony with all other beings and the entire Universe.

  • Some men receive injury but return kindness. If only such wisdom was everywhere.

  • Keith Carradine- 2 episodes ~ Dark Angel 1972 The Stone 1973

  • isn't that Davids younger brother Keith?

  • David Carradine was born in 1936. His half brother Keith Carradine was born 13 years later in 1949.

  • I had no idea there was such an age difference. Wow.

  • i knew he was several years younger...what i was asking is.. If that is Keith in this scene..Did he do any guest appearances?

  • That's Keith! He played young Caine in several episodes. Radames Peres was boy Caine, Keith was teenage Caine, and David was adult Caine.

  • Such a better world it would be if everyone considered the question of good and evil from a non-subjective perspective.

  • Exactly. Thank you.
