@user19851010 .. butane evaporates at about 55 degrees so room temp is more then an efficient temp. you also need to whip the oil to pop the bubbles that have trapped gas in them. mine did not taste like butane.

@Bobinator18. I've made it both ways. Butane Hash is a much more higher concentrated dose of cannabinoids. It tastes better and is stronger and funner to make.... and no, there is not butane left in the final product. butane evaporates well below room temperature. Dont be scared try it for yourself.

YOU MISSED A STEP - After boiling off the butane in the pyrex dish( do use pyrex :) the resultant gunk should then be washed with isopropyl alcohol, 92% spray pack from hardware store- spray it in then boil this of again in one corner of the dish using hot water etc but be very careful in both steps as butane and isopropyl alcohol are both VERY FLAMMABLE. That said ok yeah following these instructions will get you a smokeable product. And yes using PVC WILL LEECH EXTRA CARCINOGENS into the mix

room temperature gently boils off the butane perfectly. I have done this many times and never had a problem. you can dip a jay in the juice before it gets completely tight. it will knock your head off! the finish product is very thick at room temp. the bubbles are pure butane. if you let it set for a whole day they go away on their own by evaporation. this must be done outside!! it works perfectly, easily, every time. using leaves and so forth works, but makes less. get the big butane to save $

I personally wouldnt use PVC...its not good for you. My friends and I use a reusable aluminum water bottle, cut the holes on each side (top and bottom). PVC is very bad for you, its why they use it for sewer drainage and water waste and NOT for drinking water

WEAR GLOVES, this is very endothermic when the gas boils off and leaves the goo of doom in your bowl, hippo! @selin426 ABS works good. PVC cracks. I dont think it disloves much PVC though, cause its frozen. It prbably disolves some before it freezes the sides though. Ive done both, and dont taste teh differince. I live in Seattle so the club owners still cant tell what is good or not. I guess they cant taste or smell butane eather, cause ive seen some nasty shit in clubs for $60 a gram. I make my own. I used to vaccume purge, but now i use a griddle to wip it on, and gets it tasty pure.

ive made my own bho for over 4+ years now. as extraction pipe i started out with pvc but i soon lvl'd up to stainless steel and then finally to glass.

pvc will break and and leak into ur oil over continues uses. for a filter i recomend a 90 - 120 miccron TI screen (coffee filters & cloth suck up too much oil imho). and try not to blast all the butane through at once - spray for a few sec - let it run out untill it stops dripping - then spray again.

@cyberreload i will also like to add that using whole buds (not grinded nor breaked up) will give u the most clean and potent oil. as soon u start to grind up or use trim u end up with more clorofyl in ur oil (a more greenish less potent oil). i usely do 2 runs pr meterial : 1st run whole nugs - i let the meterial dry up then i very grind it very little and do a 2nd run. now the 2nd run is still good oil but it will be less potent and contain more clorofyl (but not to do a 2nd run is waste imho)

ive been making oils for years and personally i would not recommend using pvc with some solvents it will make the pvc of gas shit it doesnt really strip pvc but if ya ever had a acrlyic bong and put in rubbing alcohol on it it will fuck your shit up i use a okief tube it was 45 bucks it has a stand so ya dont got to hold a freezing cold tube just my opinion

Well you basically cant use too much bud. you'll just get more oil. Usually you can expect 2 OZ's of Hash oil(honey oil) for every 1LB of dried buds.

Looks good just have a few tips for those who want to try this themselves. Even in the garage with decent airflow it is still potentialy dangerous. I recomend doing it outside in open air, but the fan is useful just point it at your tray (good for safety and speeds the process). As for the heat of the water beneath the tray, hot as possible because the heat required to damage THC is well beyond the boiling point of water, and find a way to vacuum purge the end result that fits into your budget.

Easy way

Large glass turkey blaster (cheap and tapered glass), coffee filters (tear off extra filter after zip tying), zip ties, Pyrex dish, heating pad,

Grind buds, for trim a ruff chop is fine.

Don’t pack at all just tap on hard surface it need to of uniform density.

Use the adapters from the butane to fit the baster.

Blow through baster to get more butane out.

Don't mix batches if multiple run are done on the same batch of herb, the first run is usually the best.

You're doing it wrong. You need to put the trim in a blender and make it into powder consistancy, if you follow these steps you will have better yields and grade A cannabis oil.
