Nice vid. I was wondering about the Meinl Cajons is a Meinl Black Makah Burl okay? He looks like the Meinl snare cajon type CAJ1CA-M but then without the tuning nob.
Now I have percussion options for my recording projects. I play electric guitar and bass and I need some percussion for the mix. I don't like drum machines and I don't have the room or the environment for a drum kit, which I can't play anyway. I'm great at table tapping, and this could bridge the gap for me. Could be a good prog/fusion style instrument. Could easily be fed into effect pedals or whatever. Have to give the cajon a try.
I really enjoy the sound of Cajons. I play the mountain dulcimer and I enjoy doing a lot of rhythmic stuff and this will just be a really good compliment to that. By the way your really beautiful too, just thought I'd throw that out there...lol.
You have not played a good cajon yet until you try a good flamenco cajon i must say. Good playing but should try a better sounding cajon. Literally this one sound like a cajon if you know what i mean.
I don't think trauco is trying to coach her but this cajones are consider toys in the flamenco world. If you know what i mean. A good flamenco cajon is Schlagwerk's Cajon la Peru. That one is an exquisite instrument compared to this ones that have a very rigid head.
I owe a cajon, it has a hole in the back that is about the same size of the holw in a guitar belly. You need a base drum microphone raised about 8" off the floor and about 2 to 3" away from the drum. I had pleyed it with a mic on a couple of times and the sound is just amazing. The Meinl cajon that she is playing has a snare mechanism inside of it which is adjustable. My Toca cajon does not a snare in it but it produces a deeper base which I love.
Xcellent!!!!!!!!
