  • I cry every time I hear this... so beautiful. <3

  • I heard this at a concert a long time ago, and I didn't know what the title of it was, but the first few lines have been playing through my mind ever since.

  • Once again the tenors are amazing in this song!

  • I really want to sing this song in our middle school choir. We tried last year but we had too many people burst into tears. This song is absolutely beautiful.

  • @4:51 gave me chills (:

  • tried so hard not to cry when we sang this...NJ All-State 2009 was the best year. :)

  • One of the greatest recordings/performances on YouTube. =]

  • We're doing this song in Chamber Choir. Awesome stuff, I'm going to be crying onstage when we perform this =P

  • did you guys change the words that the guy is saying? because in our version they say something different. it was still awesomeeee though(:

  • @jaclynhagan yeah; our director decided that instead of reading the poem that was provided to us, some members of the choir should submit poems of their own and use the best one

the author of the poem that was chosen is reading it here

  • @AshForte That's what our conductor did too when we did this piece :)

  • we're singing this in our high school choir. it is my new favorite song. (:

  • my favorite is at 3:57-4:13

  • @erjoseph07, I agree with you man, this was one of the best songs we did last year.

  • We are singing this in my college choir and I just think it is the most beautiful song I have ever sung with my choir. It tells of everything that is happening to children and family form all over the world. I can really feel the pain in the words as we sing them out loud. I just pray that one day everyone and everything will be okay and I know that they will one day in Heaven.

  • @erjoseph07

YOU THERE!!! I FOUND YOU ON YOUTUBE SIR AND IM ADDING YOU RIGHT NOW AS WE SPEAK. Fellow Choir Member, Ex-Floor member, and ex-senior.

  • This song is beautiful. Magic occurs at 2:27 "all across the land"

  • South Carolina's All-State is doing "For The Sake Of Our Children" this year, and I'm on the verge of tears every time when we learn a new part to this song. It's beautiful, and the images in your slide show are great. What gets me the most is slide of the presumably, Darfur(?) child.

  • @SarslyKayStar For our concert during the prayer section we had everyone write a poem and one of our members read it. and i was always SOOOO choked up. i sing bass 2, and whenever we came back in after i could barely sing cause iwas trying not to cry.

  • @singerguy93 the best part of the whole thing is probably during the chorus. but i love when it goes into the SSAA and TTBB sections. absolutely beautiful.

  • simply beautiful
