i'm in a screamo style band, dropped a# tuning. my other guitarist has a squire obey. yes this is a sick guitar for metal

it gets a really cruchy topne. i use dunliop heavy- 12-54's to get there

it's tight but it's awesome. it sounds great

No change necessary IMHO. I think you´re right the way with the stock PU´s. There´s a humbucker on it, that you can split in a single coil. Maybe I will show that next time :)

This was interesting, and very nice playing. I'm recieving one of those in a few days. Got it at a Christmas sale online for just $145 - nice price I think.  So if I don't like it, I could just return to my Epi Les Paul, and if I like it I'll keep them both.

I am using a Fender Hot Rot Deluxe on the overdrive channel but only slightly crunched. That´s it :)

Hi,

you might not believe it, but it´s just the HotRodDeluxe. I used the drive channel at a very low angle to get this crunchy sound. Fender´s spring reverb and the mid-hi output Obey Pickup´s do the rest.

Besides, the mic of my sony digicam seems to deliver very good results :)

As far as I am informed, there is a type of Obey Tele that is made in the US and has this graphics even on the back. I do not know if there are any technical improvements done to it!

EXACTLY!!! I've been playing for over 5 years, and recently bought squire tele vintage modified, and I've been getting crap about it just because it's a squire.

They're finally starting to make a GOOD name for themselves though

I bought mine 6 months ago, and I must say that is an incredibly resistant guitar, you can compare it with a 4wd Wagon. From classic blues sound to hardest distortions :) I've started to play this guitar more often than my Gibson Sg, guess I'm bored of the saaaameee ooold sooound xD

Its just me i like the strat headstock and shape better than a tele.

plus the strat has that tramolo ive always wanted :D

i have thaat guitar its decent sounding but my has trouble staying in tune and also the octaves our also of a bit when i go down the neck no matter what adjustments i do. do you have any of the same problems?

My tele here does not have any problems with staying tuned, even if I use it in different locations in and outside. The intonation differs a bit but I haven´t done anything to it, so I cannot complain at all. For me still a great one for that price!
