That hay looks very dry. Nothing Nutritional about them. If your feeding cows I guess its alright. But for horses, yuck! Horses like the Green stuff, they have a tough time Digesting the dry brown stuff.
@HisWayFarm I am fully aware of that, this hay was rained on. There is nothing you can do about that. We strive to grow the highest quality for the horse market and are well aware of what high quality hay is. Our hay is such high quality that it sells immediately and we really can't grow enough of it. The stuff like this is fine for our dry and breeding dairy animals but milkers are fed high quality hay.
you can't beat a 348 baler...new holland guys w/ 575's drool at what 348's can do... we have 4 and they each do about 30,000/year (so everyone make sure you don't buy ours after trade in haha)
i like big bales though...less work! (but less $)
Methinks that hay had been on the ground for quite some time before it was baled , ( dark coloured hay, the regrowth looked very green ) Had you had some rain?
great vid.....wish I had some good flat ground where I could use one of those; too late though, my back's already gone...LOL. We just finished our hay in the mountains of western NC.
take some pressure off the kicker. You will miss less and you will break less bales. I fill the middle up high and then to fill the back i just let the bales crest the top and roll into the back. picking up bales sucks. before we got into roundbales we would make like 20k a year. Have fun enjoy making hay.
@judderjones We had a terrible time with the kicker on the baler last year! One bale would be perfect and the next one will bi over the wagon. Since it is new we are having the valve replaced under warranty.
Yeah, that kicker packs quite a kick doesn't it? lol. You pretty much need an extension on the wagon tongue... Loved the bale-cam pov stuff. Great video- thanks!
That was a sweet vid man thats got to be one tuff camera what kind is it? We had a 336 with a pan kicker it was fun.You could realy make stuff fly with it!!
Dfarm, nice video, nice looking farm from what I've seen also. Whats the little JD your pulling wagons with? Kind of looks and sounds like our 950 JD ( the green yanmar)
No, I just have a regular Nextel phone. It calls it mobile when I first upload it for some reason.
I don't worry about my camera breaking, I made a small frame that completely encloses it from all sides. I basically slide it under the strings and let it fly!
Sauber!

Did you just stick the camera on there and hope for the best? Or did you have some kind of protection for it?

if it was me i would put the 4430 on the baler and the 4020 on the rake but whatevr works
baker4030 2 years ago
The 4020 is powershift so that is why is runs the baler. I would like to replace it with a 6420.
