I was at this concert. I was 18 years old and flew from Seattle, WA to travel Europe following highschool. I was on O'Connell Street in Dublin and came across a guy scalping tickets. I think I paid like $280 (US) for one ticket. It was SO worth it.

Back in the day, U2 was Elvis and the Beatles and Led Zeppelin and Thin Lizzy all rolled into one. This show was months in the making...tweaked to perfection for the home fans...broadcast around the world...nobody compares...nobody.

This song, although quite early in the show...is the climax. You can look for live versions in the US on the Zoo Tour, or maybe Australia...nothing compares.

It's the best song they ever made...and it's the best live version ever done!!!

@callummcphail Yes, probably the best U2 gig ever, Im 39 and have been a fan since I was 16, I've heard just about every live performance there is. This is my favorite one of them all, the whole show!

They should of had Zoo tv at Croke Park, RDS was too small for the biggest tour on the planet at the time!!!!!!........ they still play this song stunningly today!!.. unbelievable on the 360 tour!!..

1.38 That gravelly, breathing, deep throated slide that Edge uses at the beginning just gets me everytime - on the night itself it sent shivers through me. The man has always used the guitar not as an instrument but as a conductors baton to drag you through moods you can't verbally define but your senses adore.

here goes the brilliance of the edge, this song is probably his climax. How he did it? RESEARCH, experimenting. I am amazed to listen to him during interviews when he says that when they started he did not know and did not like to play guitar. Now for me personally he is the best guitar player of all times. He just uses the guitar like he uses some never before seen instrument.
