Impossible , the only navy in the world which can approaching the bridge at sea state 6 is the canadian navy and we have several crash with the same helicopter. I suggest you to watch a video from the past decade of the Canadian navy old bird CH-124 with the beartrape. watch?v=T6Gn3A-6zik
@SmithFromSheffield Pathetic ubermensch! Look: Germany tried 60 years ago to prove they are the best, but the British, Americans and Russians kicked your ass so hard. Now realise that you aren't the best and get a life.
This was an HC-2 aircraft (Desert Ducks). All survived and the cause was the coupling that failed. It is located right were the IGB is at the hinge that allows for folding of the tail-rotor. Not a whole lot you can do when you have loss of tail rotor thrust. Lower the collective and pull the speed selectors off (Engine controls).
It was a Canadian Sea King and if memory serves 3 guys were killed.. and was a mechanical malfunction that caused the crash.. rotor I think.. these Copters are a piece of shit..and crash tons.. we have lost a few of them since the original purchase.... for every one hour of flying time it takes 3-4 hrs maintenance..
no its nots my friend lol I crew on ch-47D and also UH_60's and its is usually 4-5 hrs for every flight hour. Depends on the condition. I know while I was in Afghan that number dropped
This is bull s#$t dude....I have worked on the seaking (actually this one shortly before this). Also, for a heli-logging op that flies the civil version (S-61)....we logged 10-12 hrs a day, everyday .... hardest work you will ever do with that machine. Now by your calculations thats about 300-400 hrs of work a night....2 guy crews...figure that out and get back to me!!
The helicopter design is not a peice of shit. They simply reached their service life a long, long time ago and should have been out of service many years ago.
Get your story right dude ... US Navy seaking ... all surived ... awesome helicopters!! There is nothing out there to fill its role. There are a ton of this aircraft in the civil world that are servicing offshore oil rigs, airliners, heli-loggers, firefighters .... virtually exact same heli, with no problems. Almost perfect safety record...you tell me where the problem is .... Military.
The problem there is the sea. I trust those pilots skills are good, bet you never know about the sea, cos that bitch is dodgy. You know, waves and stuff. The ship movement is also sometimes unpredictable.
But anyway, it's the speed that should have been much slower.
so.... which pixel is supposed to be the helicopter?

We (USA) can and we do. We use the RAST system and have been using it for quite a while.
